Top Immigration Officials Describe Border Chaos Resulting From Admin's Amnesty Policy
YouTube ^ | 7/26/2012

Posted on 07/26/2012 3:57:10 PM PDT by Beave Meister

Sen. Sessions hosted a press conference today with top officials from two unions that represent U.S. immigration law enforcement agencies.

ICE agent Chris Crane is President of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, the union representing America's more than 7,000 ICE agents and personnel. Border Patrol agent George McCubbin, III is President of the National Border Patrol Council, the union representing America's more than 17,000 border agents and personnel.

From Sen. Sessions' remarks (forthcoming in a video tomorrow): "The Administration claims it has diligently enforced immigration law and that the border is 'more secure than ever.' But those on the front lines know this to be untrue. They see the violence, chaos and lawlessness. They have lost confidence in the leadership of their agencies...

As you will hear today, this administration has engaged in a sustained, relentless effort to undermine America's immigration laws. They have handcuffed and muffled those charged with protecting the public safety and the integrity of our borders. Such action has not only weakened our security but our democracy...

All Americans, immigrant and native born, will have a better future if our nation remains unique in the world for the special reverence it places in the rule of law and fairness in our immigration system."

If you had told me 20 years ago that a President could act like this without being impeached, I would have thought it impossible. Nixon was voted out for a lot less. Obama is doing his best to wreck the country by dissipating its wealth and security, and bringing all in it to a low level. His Justice Department is corrupt and racially biased.

20 or more years ago, there was some bipartisanship. Now, its as if the Democrat Party is filled with nihilists who are downright hostile to the survival of the country and their own long-term welfare. Impeachment (including the Senate vote) is currently impossible.

Our border has been a mess since before Obama was elected and it will be a mess after he’s gone.

True, but it’s become much worse on Obama’s watch.

True enough, but I live 50 miles north of the border and it has gotten much worse under Obama and especially bad after his recent amnesty talk.

Its no wonder America is in the shape its in. Not even conservatives have the courage to fix a problem that can just be blamed on democrats.

After watching the video it is obvious that o-boy and butch are lying about their “dream” act. They have instituted all-out amnesty. The rest of the jelly-spined republicrats need to join with Sen. Sessions and bring this out into the open.

The only way to stop this is a clean sweep in November and even then I am not optimistic.

The problem with fixing anything is that our politicians lose the club they use to bludgeon voters with.

I wish the voters would wake up to this fact but I’m not real optimistic.

There is no doubt in my mind that Obama was told months ago that he was going to lose in a landslide, and this chaos is the price he has to pay to be provided for in retirement.

I can’t believe he or his handlers think there are already enough of “them” for him to win re-election.

Nixon wasn't voted out. He had the courtesy -- and the courage -- to resign before a vote ever took place.

Of course, Nixon did not have a friendly Senate (or House). And the press was on his case 24/7, 365.

Obviously, Obama does not face the opposition Nixon did. Nor does he have the courtesy...or the courage.

You are dead on, though: Nixon committed far fewer breaches than has Obama.

I prefer telling the truth.

That means not buying into the LIE that Romney is going to be pushed to the right. If his supporters don’t have the courage to do it now, they never will.

Union heads representing thousands of America’s immigration agents slammed the Obama administration Thursday over a policy they claim is forcing officials to ignore the law and allowing illegal immigrants to exploit the system.

In a startling allegation, the president of the union representing Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers claimed illegal immigrants are “taking advantage” of a new directive allowing some undocumented residents who came to the U.S. as children to stay in the country. Union boss Chris Crane said the policy ends up allowing illegal immigrants to avoid detention without any proof — particularly so-called “dreamers,” or those illegal immigrants who would benefit under the “DREAM Act” proposal, which Congress has not passed but the administration has partially implemented.

“Prosecutorial discretion for dreamers is solely based on the individual’s claims. Our orders are if an alien says they went to high school, then let them go,” he said at a press conference with GOP senators. “Officers have been told that there is no burden for the alien to prove anything. ... At this point we don’t even know why DHS has criteria at all, as there is no requirement or burden to prove anything on the part of the alien.

“We believe that significant numbers of people who are not dreamers are taking advantage of this practice to avoid arrest,” he said.

Crane cited one case in which, he said, an immigrant facing criminal charges was let go under the policy. Further, he complained that officers are “under threat of losing their jobs” if they defy the policy.

Include this, TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - How’d you like to have angry people pounding on your door?

That’s happening to TUSD board members who’ve angered activists over the Mexican American Studies dispute.

One board member’s wife was so rattled, she called the police.

Here’s an issue that raises the question: when do you cross the line?

Board members are used to getting an earful in the board room. But what about when activists show up at their homes, banging on doors?

Demonstrations have become routine outside TUSD.

Now they’re showing up at board members’ houses.

Michael Hicks calls it terrorizing.

Yeah, I know. After I typed it I realized I meant to type "driven out". He resigned after some of the Congressmen told him that he would definitely lose the vote. I agree with the rest of your post, in particular that his worst transgressions were minor compared with Obama's normal conduct.

The game is to keep the game going. As long as the game continues, congress can continue to threaten that the other side will make things worse and ours is the only salvation.
