Not so easy to recruit suitable replacements mid-way in the summer. I have no idea who the people who walked out were, but if they were program staff - the kids who are actually teaching merit badges, etc. - this kind of move really screws over the Scouts that these people pledged to serve.
And it’s entirely appropriate to fire a staffer who will not follow camp directives on the dress code.
