Sarah Palin on attending the RNC in Tampa: We'll have an announcement in a couple of days.

But the only question this Florida reporter had for the former govenor of Alaska and Tea Party favorite, was a simple one:

Will we see you at the Republican National Convention in Tampa this August?

"We'll have an announcement in a couple of days," said Palin, as an aide insisted journalists direct questions to Todd Palin. "I don't know if we'll do anything fancy as a press conference, but we'll get the word out."

As the GOP convention draws closer, rumors persist that Palin is scouting space to rent in Tampa and supporters wonder if she will be given a speaking slot. Palin declined to specualte on any of that Tuesday, preferring to shift conversation to husband Todd's performance on Stars Earn Stripes, telling another reporter it was "a great opportunity to support a great cause."

Palin is the most compelling speaker the GOP has, she is the best representative and de facto leader of the party’s base, she was the VP candidate on their last ticket, and she’d probably be Romney’s most effective surrogate in GOTV efforts this fall.

Other than that, I don’t see much reason to give her a prime speaking slot.

She's smarter than all of them put together.

Yup and I have to think she's trying to decide if the GOP is worth trying to salvage.
That has to be in her mind somewhere as with any real conservative.
I have serious doubts about its' future, been back stabbed too many times.

I hope her smarts includes good reasons for supporting some RINO like candidates over Tea Party candidates. I was an ardent Palin supporter but not so much now.

If they rally and want to win the election, they will PERSONALLY invite our Sarah to have the “floor”.

If they leave her out it will only confirm what we have ALL been saying all along.....they want America to fail, on purpose.

They better make her the grandstand at that convention.

"Damn it, Sarah, quit stringing us along ... ANNOUNCE ALREADY!! ... :^)"

She may not be able to do so yet. Perhaps due to her contract w/ Fox, etc. Seems like some things need a little ironing out before hand.

Sounds as if she is trying to work out a way in order to do so. If she is not invited, then she is probably trying to figure out a way to be the "big gun", maybe outside the convention.

Here are some for you:

1) electability
2) character
3) some of those ‘tea party’ candidates are GOPe in patriots’ clothing (e.g., the Mittbot running against Hatch)
4) fallibility: Palin is, after all, human

I just hope she doesn’t do something that causes Obama to win the election. Don’t think she would do that but what’s with renting that space?

We don’t know what her contracts allow and don’t allow. Sarah is a barracuda and I believe she doesn’t make a move before thinking it through throughly.

In the end, Sarah will do what is best for our country. We have NO IDEA how the heck this convention will turn out.

I’m still nursing my cuts and bruises from our primary smackdowns....Sarah, Herman and Newt.

This time, I am laying back to see what happens. Who does Mitt pick as VP? No, I am not advocating ANY VP....learned my lesson, and as I have stated, still nursing my wounds from the primary.

Heck, I have came to the realization that I may not know WHAT I will do until I walk into my voting booth on election day.

"Another “I’m a Sarah Palin supporter BUT...”

Any BUT after your initial comment negates your initial comment.

"I was an ardent Palin supporter but not so much now."

Why? What has changed your mind? She is still the same Sarah she has always been.

Let me get this straight. Obama is the worst president in history, so bad that a ham sandwich can beat him. Currently Romney is not beating him and should he lose, it will be Sarah’s fault. Sounds like a whole lot of ‘mustard’ on that dog.

States all they have to do is ask. None of us know if she did so and was rejected.

Unless someone has a link stating they gave Sarah the go ahead, perhaps this is the “clog”.

“And what exactly would that be?”

Being even subtly critical of Romney or interfering with the momentum that I think the Romney campaign is gaining.

Tell me why she’d want to rent space near the convention site.

I don’t know. I’ve heard a lot of chatter in regards to the convention.

Seems like Romney doesn’t have it all “wrapped up”.

We are now living in an upside down world. Anything can happen at this point.

Am I saying she will take the nom from Mitt? No. But there are MANY things that have been happening, which would have once time been outside our usual realm of thinking.
