Idaho Restaurant Dumps Pepsi & Miller Over Companies' LGBT Support
Instinct Magazine ^ | July 19 2012 | Johnathon Higbee

Posted on 07/20/2012 10:48:29 AM PDT by scottjewell

Owners object to brands' support of National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce

"The National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce is an entity that collects money from major corporations to further promote policies for the gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders, and as Christians, we don't support that," said owner Mike Fuller.

Fuller has even updated his restaurant's bare-bones website to include a notice about the boycott:

Why Waha Bar & Grill is currently not carrying Coors, Miller, or Pepsico products:

Miller/Coors, Pepsico, and many other companies (see list below) have taken a political stance by becoming corporate founders of the NGLCC (National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce). The NGLCC is an organization of American businesses unified by a common objective of securing social, economic, and political gains for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. Sponsors of the NGLCC donate portions of their sales to support politicians, programs, and policies that pledge support for LGBT issues.

While we believe in the importance of voting at the booth on Election Day, we also believe in voting with the dollars we spend. We are Christians who do not believe in supporting the goals and the politicians who support the goals of the NGLCC. Please consider becoming a conscientious consumer and join with us in requesting that the companies listed below redirect their charitable contributions toward non-divisive, non-political entities and charities such as cancer research, heart disease, or fighting world hunger.

Thank you for your understanding,

Mike and Mari Fuller, owners

“Instinct Magazine”

DISGUSTING!

And BRAVO to these owners! I had no idea about Pepsi/Miller/Coors in this way, and it will affect my buying habits going forward.

What I don’t understand is why these companies can’t simply say that “We are corporations, and choose to avoid taking sides in social issues”.

Sincerely, Turdburglar bottling company. Look for the bottle with the brown longneck.

Yes, it goes to show how much of a difference it would make if everyone could be like these folks and act their conscience - maybe it can serve as an example... ( Well, you find out a lot of interesting tid-bits from these sites. ;) )

Time to short PEP and TAP looks like.

I regret not selling short JCP when they used ellen degenerate as their spokespervert (although there may still be sizeable downside left).

I wonder why, too.

I think it has something to do with the ratings system that the Human Rights Campaign set up: If you are listed as ranking low in support for LGBTQ rights, you are stamped as a company ranking low in Human Rights!

Appalling....but on the public relations level, it seems to be working for the LGBT set.

If we had a true free market system, this wouldn’t be an issue. A little conservative leaning brewer would come along and grow at an astounding rate to fill the niche.

Unfortunately these companies lobby for laws that often harm their competition. Like Michigan Casinos that lobbied for the smoking ban in bars but got exemptions from the law themselves.

Dang it! Pepsi throwback is about the only cola I will drink any more and now I have to give it up to save society.

Numerous companies are sucking up to (if you will pardon the expression) gay and lesbian groups. Penney’s, Office Depot, Home Depot, Kraft, Nabisco, and Target to name some.

I am going to save all kinds of money by cutting back on my shopping for sure. BTW, this is not on the same subject, but some people are calling for a “going Galt” day next month. Hope it happens.

How can ANY company in the USA get into the spotlight over 2% of the population-—who pretty much ONLY go to their own gay bars anyway-—& risk losing their businesses??

You would think that the results of J C Penny & their kissing up to the freaks would have sent a pretty good message!!!

I just cannot see an Idaho bar with the rugged independent people I know from there wanting any interference from the LGBT followers at their favorite watering holes.

They may not be a huge part of the population, but they have a lot of disposable income.

Link to contact Pepsi

Pepsi brands

Fortunately, they've spun off their restaurant brands and no longer own Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
