Bulgarian media on Thursday named the suicide bomber who blew up a bus full of Israeli tourists, killing five Israelis and a local bus driver, in the Black Sea resort of Burgas on Wednesday as 36-year-old Mehdi Ghezali.
Ghezali reportedly arrived in Bulgaria five weeks before the bombing and arrived at the airport via taxi, Channel 2 reported. He was also reportedly given the bomb by someone else, but no further details were provided.

Ghezali has a Wikipedia page, which describes him as a Swedish citizen, with Algerian and Finnish origins. He had been held at the USs Guantanamo Bay detainment camp on Cuba from 2002 to 2004, having previously studied at a Muslim religious school and mosque in Britain, and traveled to Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, it says. He was taken into custody on suspicion of being an al-Qaeda agent, having been arrested along with a number of other al-Qaeda operatives.

He was also reportedly among 12 foreigners captured trying to cross into Afghanistan in 2009.

This reminds me that I've promised to shut down Gitmo and let the rest of them go
I hope the Israelis and American Jews are suitably pissed!
bttt
This won’t hurt The Disaster’s overwhelming support from the Jewish voters.
This guy is a REAL WINNER, though the swedes are reportedly denying it’s him:
From Times Of Israel:
Bulgarian media on Thursday named the suicide bomber who blew up a bus full of Israeli tourists, killing five Israelis and a local bus driver, in the Black Sea resort of Burgas on Wednesday as Mehdi Ghezali.
Ghezali was reportedly a Swedish citizen, with Algerian and Finnish origins. He had been held at the USs Guantanamo Bay detainment camp on Cuba from 2002 to 2004, having previously studied at a Muslim religious school and mosque in Britain, and traveled to Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. He was released to Swedish custody in 2004, and the Swedish government did not press charges.
He was also reportedly among 12 foreigners captured trying to cross into Afghanistan in 2009.
FROM WIKI:
Mehdi Mohammad Ghezali, previously known as the Cuba-Swede (Swedish: Kubasvensken), is a Swedish citizen of Algerian and Finnish descent who was held as what the United States termed an unlawful combatant at the Guantanamo Bay detainment camp on Cuba between January 2002 and July 2004.
Prior to his capture Ghezali attended a Muslim religious school and mosque in the United Kingdom before travelling to Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and finally ended up in Pakistan where he was captured. Following his release from detention the Swedish government has not brought any further criminal charges against him for criminal misconduct prior to his capture.
According to the Stockholm News Pakistani security officials “suspected Ghezali to have been involved in a prison uprising where 17 people were killed” — an assertion Ghezali is reported to have denied. A man bearing Ghezali’s passport was one of twelve foreigners Pakistani security officials reported were captured trying to cross into Afghanistan on 28 August 2009. According to the Associated Press Ghezali was “reportedly part of a group of 156 suspected Al-Qaeda fighters caught while fleeing Afghanistan’s Tora Bora mountains.
He was a HERO of the Anti-War Liberal Left. THIS IS ONE OF THE GUYS THAT Soros-Funded World-Can’t-Wait demanded be released from Gitmo. Remember the 2004 Stockholm Anti-War riot??
He was supported by both the Anti-War Eurosocialists, and Wikileaks.
The people behind World-Can’t-Wait are the very same people behind today’s “Occupy” movement. How’s that for synergy?
Especially since he was released from Gitmo on Bush’s watch.
Impeachment and immediate removal from office. NOW!
The murders were probably conditional for the release
by pRes_ _ent Obama the Undocumented Moslem Tyrant.
American jews would vote for Himmler if he was liberal. They don’t have a clue.
I’m sure Bush didn’t want to release any of them. But have you forgotten the hysteria stirred up by the left at that point?
What I want to know was why, if he was caught trying to cross into Afghanistan in 2009 (Bambi time), he wasn’t sent back to Gitmo right then and there.
I think that many American Jews will wake up, this time around.
Is this the guy they’re saying had a fake Michigan Diver’s license?
Our government-run PRAVDA media will cover this up. The blood of this bombing IS ON 0BAMA’S HANDS.
Because of this schmuck, my Mom almost lost 5 family members. They were on the bus right next to the one that exploded, the only reason why they were not on it was because the other bus was too full for them to go on, otherwise they would have been on that bus. So because of these Marxist left pricks, 5 Israelies(including a woman who was pregnant) lost their lives, but don’t worry Obama, most Jews will still vote for you
We are our own worst enemy. Being a complete p^ssy is fashionable now.
That won't matter to the Lefties.
...crickets.... Yep, those American Jews are going to jump right on this one...right after they vote for Obama again
You would vote for Himmler because you like the big lie method of Goebbels and company
Because Obama doesn’t want to jail a FELLOW MUSLIM!!
Oooops.. Is that confirmed?

Weird Al
How about the others released - I sure hope it worked for them.
Dick Durbin is more to blame than Bush. It was his party which IMMEDIATELY began to foam at the mouth over Gitmo. And, of course, the Treason Media picked up the ball and ran with it.
So, Bush could’ve just said “No.”
Swedish intelligence says it isn’t him. Ghezali has complained about constant surveillance by them and I suspect they wouldn’t come out with a statement saying it wasn’t him unless they know he’s alive and in Sweden right now.
But he was detained along with 12 other foreigners while crossing into Afghanistan in 2009. Who was president then, hmm?
They both are at fault.
Leni
It was for sneaking into Pakistan, and he was apprehended by the Pakistanis, and his release was negotatiated by the Swedes. The US had nothing to do with any of it.
Anyway, this is all moot because both the Swedes and the Bulgarian Government say Ghezali is not the suicide bomber.

Not really. Go back and look at that time. The entire Dem legislature was demanding the release of these people, along, of course, with all the press. The ones released were the ones deemed least dangerous.
The real question is why this guy wasn’t sent back to Gitmo when he was picked up crossing into Afghanistan in 2009 (when Bambi was president) and had obviously been doing nothing but jihadi stuff in the intervening years between 2004 and 2009, something that was clearly already known to the FBI and CIA at that point.
Probably “workplace violence.”
This link shows their persistence.
From looking around it seems the Bulgarian press reports were based on posts to their own website forums.
The way the Swedes are denying it so confidently indicates to me that they have had Ghazali under surveillance and know where he is.
People should generally be more skeptical of the foreign press than they are (the important thing is to be skeptical of stuff you WANT to be true - obviously people really want this guy to be someone released from Gitmo.)
He was released under Bush. I want to know the name of the attorney responsible for the release. I want the Bulgarians to know the name of that attorney.
But a former GITMO detainee wouldn’t be surprising either.
Anti-Israel Bomber in Bulgaria Was Released From Gitmo Thanks ...Breitbart
Leftists who hate Israel can rejoice; their efforts at securing the release of a Gitmo detainee and their subsequent lionizing of him allowed him to murder five Israelis in the bombing Wednesday in Burgas, Bulgarian.
The bomber has been identified as Mehdi Ghezali, who was detained at Gitmo Bay in Cuba from 2002 to 2004. According to Wikileaks documents, Ghazali was uncooperative, unforthcoming and deceptive during interrogations. His father had met with Abdolrahman Barzanjee, an Al Qaeda associate and possible Ansar Al-Islam coordinator for Europe (Ansar Al-Islam is a group of Sunni Muslims trying to turn Iraq into an Islamist state), and Ghazali was friends with a Swedish operative who was a close associate of Abu Zubadayah, a high-ranking official with Al Qaeda.
Ghazali, who was a Swedish citizen, was visited by members of the Swedish government frequently while he was in custody at Gitmo, and the Swedish media played up his incarceration. While Ghezali was detained at Gitmo, he was featured in the documentaryGitmo The New Rules of War, a film that savaged Guantanamo Bay detention camp by film directors Erik Gandini and Tarik Saleh.
In February of 2004, Ghazali was reassessed and regarded as an enemy combatant who had gone to Afghanistan to support the Taliban, but although Gitmo concluded that he was a medium risk, as he may possibly pose a threat to the US its interests and allies, the decision to release him to Sweden followed: Recommendation: JTF Gitmo recommends that this detainee be transferred to the control of another country for continued detention.
He was released to Sweden on July 8, 2004. And guess how much he meant to the Swedish? He was flown home to Sweden by the Swedish Air Force on a Gulfstream IV jet, at the expense of the Swedish government.
Ghazali joined a July 4, 2006 demonstration held outside the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden calling for the closure of the Guantanamo Bay facility.
But the liberal Swedes werent done with nurturing Ghazali yet. He was arrested in September of 2009 in Punjab, Pakistan, on suspicions of having ties to al-Qaeda; Pakistani police chief Mohammad Rizwan described Ghezali as “a very dangerous man”. But the Swedish newspaper The Local described his actions as “a harmless meeting with a Muslim revivalist movement, Tablighi Jamaat.”
One month later, Ghezali was released to Sweden. The Swedish Ambassador even accompanied him on the flight home.
With all the help Ghezali received from the liberal media and liberal governments, its obvious they have blood on their hands. But the blood is Israeli, so dont expect the Left to shed a single tear.
Bath salts.
NOTA
It’s a man-caused disaster.
God’s shaking his head slowly back and froth - looking at Mehdi Ghezali - HE speaks: “Exactly what is is about ‘God’s Chosen People’ that you don’t understand? “
Nobody’s disputing that. But why wasn’t he sent back when they picked him up in Afghanistan in 2009.
I distinctly remember this, because capturing all these people was a big coup for the military, and then Obama basically said to let them go.
When around a thousand Jews tried to escape from Hitler, American Jews did in fact vote for Himmler. There was no jewish voices to speak of to let them into the US, and they were returned to the gas chambers.
They also say they don't know where he is, and that he is a terrorist.
So, WTF didn't they lock him up when he was released into their custody in 2004?
Thanks. I do not remember the history about this guy. I know they had attorneys and would really like to know who represented him.
Lets remember that liberals went crazy screaming against the Bush Administration detention of terrorists at Gitmo, resulting in the release of a lot of these scum. As far as I am concerned any of them that helped get this guy out have the blood of those teenagers on their hands.
Which leads me to observe: Liberalism is not only a mental disorder, it is a dangerous mental disorder.
“Following a lobbying effort by Swedish prime minister Göran Persson, Guantanamo authorities recommended Ghezali be transferred to another country for continued detainment, and he was handed over to Swedish authorities in 2004. The Swedish government did not press charges.”
Jewish blood on their hands. Nothing new for Europe.
It's an overreaction. In Middle Ages a lord and his soldiers could ride into a village, rape and pillage just for fun, and leave tens of dead bodies behind. Examples of such terror are widely known from historical records, and they occurred anywhere from Japan to Europe to Mexico. Life was not just cheap; it was free for taking from the lower classes. Similarly, your own life belonged to your lord; it could be (and sometimes was) taken away from you just because your lord wanted it so, for a reason or without one.
This was, of course, wrong. But the world overreacted, as it always does. Now the life of anyone, be it a genius scientist or an honest worker or a petty criminal or a mass murderer, is equally precious and must not be taken away, ever. As result we have now hordes of criminals running free in the streets of our cities and in deserts of faraway countries. They do their best to kill our citizens but citizens must not kill back (ask GZ about that.) They steal, rob and mug people, and we are supposed to take it and politely ask for more.
IMO, the value of life is not unconditionally high. People are born with a pretty high value of their life; then it depends on their own actions. If you do good and help others you become a valuable citizen; your demise will be a great sorrow. If you are bad and you rob or kill people, the value of your life drops - mathematically, if you wish, by the value that the other person lost. If that value ever reaches zero you forfeited your life at that point. If you are allowed to live longer you are likely to cause more harm to the society then you will do good. Miraculous conversions do happen, but they are not in purview of humans.
It would be interesting to think how such a mathematical system would work out in the society. Some states have three strikes laws which come closer to this principle, but they are too crude. "Life credits" can be also earned, so an accidental crime can be eventually compensated in the eyes of the society. But if you let your life credits run out the next arrest will be fatal. Most repeat offenders will exhaust their credit while still in high school, just like TM did.
