Former Sen. Rick Santorum was back on the stump in his home territory of western Pennsylvania over the weekend, but this time in a new role: Mitt Romney's attack dog.
"The republic is at stake," Santorum told a crowd gathered in the hot and cramped Victory Center, many of them wiping their brows. "One man is who we have to put our trust in to go out and fight that battle, and win that battle. And we must rally behind and do everything we possibly can to support Gov. Mitt Romney so he's the next president of the United States."
"This is my home stomping territory around here, and we're going to be spending some time out here doing things to help candidates and certainly [doing] whatever we can to help Governor Romney." Last week, Santorum appeared at a Romney campaign office opening in Davenport, Iowa.

Isn’t that sweet. Debut. Always auditioning for the RINO brokers, always a cooperater, there you found the climber Santorum.
Except at this point I could vote for ABR and certainly even Santorum. Heck, at this point I would vote for Uncle Nutty. I mean it. ABR.

It was INTENTIONAL in case of Santorum. He has been working WITH ROMNEY. Another big negative against Santorum is that he is a radical fiscal socialist. So you cannot equate him with someone who although part of the establishment has in the past has contributed to cutting down spending.
Does anyone else notice how Romney supporters here on FR attack Freepers who explain why they won’t vote for Romney, but NEVER explain how Romney intends to save the Union?
I’m still waiting for Romney to explain how he will solve this: Government cannot spend more than it taxes, and when government is in debt it must in fact spend less, since it must over time pay down that debt. (Quote from Market-ticker.org)
Raising taxes will not help as it only shuts down the economy.

Newt's objective was not to split the conservative vote so that Romney would end up with the nomination. Santorum's objective clearly was to help Romney become the nominee.

Big time! Instead of trying to convince the Freepers to vote for Romney (giving examples of what he has done as governor or what he has planned as President) they attack the Freepers in a pissantian way to the point of driving the Freepers into hoping Romney loses.
I hope the pro-Romney freepers are not an example of Romney's campaign staffers because if they are they need a lesson in diplomacy.
They are Romney's worst enemy. Well, maybe second worse (next to Romney's flip-flopping and liberal tendencies).

I’ve noticed that they only have three things to offer: mindless, abject fear; mindless, abject subordination to a vapid, dying party; and browbeating uppity conservatives. They are empty people supporting an empty candidate with empty arguments. At the end of the day they are all servile and culture of death, and I’ve no use for them.
Yes, Romney fans are driving FReepers away with their wild, over the top hysterics. They’re actually widening the divide, not bridging it.
The reasons they fail to mention how Romney would save the Union are twofold:
1) Conservatives are regarded as a bunch of simple-minded, religious kooks who unfortunately get to vote. They wouldn’t understand it anyway so why waste time trying to explain why Mitt is da man, and
2) To say any more than ‘just pull the lever and shut up’ would invite scrutiny, and that would expose Romney (and the GOPe) for what they are.
Much much less than Noot. Santorum actually could have won if he had gone head-to-head against Romney.
The icing on the cake for me was when Adelson openly stated that he would be happy if Romney was the nominee, and then proceeded to cut Gingrich a check for $10 million.
Personally, Santorum blew his shot for my vote in 2004 when he endorsed Specter in the primaries. He had a chance to show character then and he failed, especially when his campaign centered on his being a fighter who made tough choices.
By getting rid of Obama.
Obama and his sycophants are the problem. Getting rid of them solves the problem.
This is an exceptional country and it will bounce right back once we get rid of the marxist ineptocracy Obama has created.

They don’t strike me as the do-as-you’re-told crowd, even now.

If our guys hadn’t caved and the conservative supporters along with them, the convention could be different, but we got traded off. Romney will replace us with the 3-4% of the disenchanted socialist/Marxist electorate who need a job.
