Condi: Say, thanks for thinking of me, but… (I told you so)

Here’s a quick pop question for you on Bastille Day. What do you call fever pitch discussions of Condi Rice as the GOP vice presidential nominee?

Answer: Killing time in July.

But who are you going to believe… Drudge or your own lying eyes?

Condi: I’m Still Not Interested in VP Slot

An aide to Rice, who is now at Stanford University in California, said she was standing by previous statements that she was not interested in the position. “Nothing has changed,” Georgia Godfrey, Rice’s chief of staff, said in an email.

Rice said in an interview with CBS News last month that she would not seek the vice presidency. “I don’t see myself in any way in elected office. I love policy. I’m not particularly fond of politics,” she said in the interview on June 26.

When we first broached the topic here, the Hot Air community lit up the comments section and pretty much described every reason listed in the linked article why this was not only unlikely, but would probably be pretty unpopular. (Some more nicely than others.) Even if Rice had a taste for the job, she’s got some negatives with the base which would be hard to overcome.

She served her nation when called and, during her time at State, seemed to keep her own personal feelings on the shelf, supporting her boss and not rocking the boat. But since returning to private life, she’s been rather candid on some of her personal positions (being “mildly pro-choice” among other things) which would probably just cloud the picture going into the convention. Besides… she still might wind up making a crackerjack baseball commissioner.

Anyway, this report should put the speculation to rest. We now return you to our regularly scheduled Chris Christie love festival.

It seems to me if Dr Rice had any interest in any elected office, she would have run

Her past support of Obama and TRASHING of Gov. Palin
made her a shoo-in with Team Romney.

Is she for RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE/and Death Panels, too?

I personally believe that she doesn’t want the job. She’s already been there and done that, in terms of having worked there.

Drudge has been in the tank for Romney since before the primaries. At this point, it’s in Romney’s best interests to keep his VP choice(s) close to the vest. Drudge would never have broken the “Condi under consideration” story unless it was in Romney’s interests (and possibly at Romney’s direction) to misdirect.

I love Palin, but Palin would make Romney lose. The Rats would be out in force to vote against her. Trust me on this.

Kaslin, that was the trashing of Gov. Palin directed
by Mr. RomneyCARE, author of Death Panels.

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

If she doesn’t want the job so be it.

I have turned down higher paying job offers, I still have freedom of choice.

If America continues its socialist changeover in the future when you are asked to be a certain political nominee refusal won’t be an option anymore.

“Comrade, you WILL allow the people to vote for you!” But its OK, we know what the vote will be.

IMO: Sarah is damaged goods!

The libtards (aka: MSM) will again bring up the crib notes she wrote on the palm of her hand as a sign of her inability to remember.

See the below example of MSM (huffingtonpost) hatred!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Closer inspection of a photo of Sarah Palin, during a speech in which she mocked President Obama for his use of a teleprompter, reveals several notes written on her left hand. The words “Energy”, “Tax” and “Lift American Spirits” are clearly visible. There’s also what appears to read as “Budget cuts” with the word Budget crossed out.
Just to be clear: The notes most likely weren’t for her speech, for which she used prepared remarks, but for the Q&A session that followed, during which she glanced at the hand in question.
But in my opinion that’s even worse.
There were no specifics on there, just general concepts and things she supports.
The takeaway is that this presidential contender apparently can’t remember her supposed core principles and needs a cheat-sheet when simply asked about her beliefs.
Her past support of Obama and TRASHING of Gov. Palin
The liars never sleep where Condi Rice is concerned.
There has been NO evidence of "past support" of Obama... was the lie that she "voted for Obama" suddenly too specific a talking point?
You and the rest in the clan of liars against Dr. Rice can repeat the same baseless untruth year after year but it still doesn't transform it into a fact.
The professional diplomate "TRASHED" Sarah Palin so much she called her convention speech "terrific," said she "great confidence in McCain" having chosen Gov. Palin, etc. Give me a break.
Oh, and you must've missed Palin saying Rice would make a good running mate for Romney.
It's a shame Rice hasn't wanted to go into elective office. She'd be a great step forward for California.
Others may not agree. The thing I remember most distinctly about Condi Rice was her public claim just after 9-11 that “we never thought they’d use airplanes as missiles”.
Since I was flying cross country on 9-11 her statement was front and center in my concerns. My first thought was what are we paying you and your bosses and security staff for, if not to think about possible scenarios.
Condi Rice globalist and UN treaty monger is not now and never has been on my list of acceptable VP candidates.
This is an example of the pure politics of divide that are played by politicians to get elected that are harmful to competent government.
Agreed, and I don't like it much; it's overspin for Mittens crew to believe that it was necessary to counter the truly odius giblet crew simply making shit up about how Romney hep-no-tized that NAACP audience to boo him (and on cue!), and thusly flood the zone with some Amish Veepstakes talk.
Her adulation reminds me of Ace McCain’s 2008 “concession” speech.
She’s a Hussein Head.
