Three women pleaded guilty in Miami federal court on Wednesday to stealing money from a government program, according to U.S. Attorney Wifredo A. Ferrer.
Simone West, 22, of Hollywood, Chante Sweet, 35, of Miami, and Ashley Rolle, 27, of St. Petersburg, admitted to siphoning approximately $21,932 in federal grant money from the City of Miami between 2007 and 2009, prosecutors said.

Sweet was an employee of the City of Miami Neighborhood Enhancement Team at the time. She admitted to issuing checks to West and Rolle even though they performed no work for the Miami ACES program. They cashed the checks and shared the money with Sweet, according to court records.

This is the height of Gummint hypocrisy.
On the one hand, they set up these programs, the very purpose of which is to siphon our money into the pockets of leeches the likes of Ms Chante Sweet.
On the other hand, they (very occasionally!) prosecute the same folks for doing what the programs were set up to do in the first place.
Oh, maybe they prosecute them only when what they’re doing gets out in public. I can see how it might endanger the whole system if the taxpaying voters ever noticed what was going on, and figured out the scam.
Maybe the ruling elite figure that putting an occasional head on a pike is the best alternative when it comes to keeping the whole scam going.

Gonna have to be a whole lot more commas and zeros before I would attempt something stoopid like that.
