Mine was an observation, not an affirmation.

A VP has two jobs. Break a tie in the senate, and go to funeral ceremonies.

Three jobs, later run for president. Eisenhower-Nixon, Kennedy-Johnson, Johnson-Humphrey, Nixon-Ford, Carter-Mondale, Reagan-Bush, Clinton-Gore. I think the only vp in the last 60 years that did not later win his party's nomination was Agnew (went to jail) and Cheney (serious health problems).

Add Dan Quayle to that list.

Santorum would win the election, liberal Romney will lose it. What a failed opportunity that we put ourselves in...

I understand cognitive dissonance very well.

I did not vote for Mitt in Florida, but you know what?
Mitt WON. - In case this missed anyone, Romney did win the primary election.
Voters were not dragged, kicking and screaming, to the ballot box and ordered to vote for him, but he did win this go around.
I really don't see anyone at all here “lapping up his every word.” - I do see most patriots say that they will do anything to be rid of Obama because they believe that this is what is best for the country.

And they are right. - As I have been saying since Florida, I believe that its going to be Romney/Santorum.

Anyone who believes that Santorum was somehow propped up by someone somewhere somehow as a stalking horse to ensure that Romney won the primary, probably believes in the smoking man on the grassy knoll - and I don't mean that meanly, I mean that people need to put aside personal feelings and do what is best for America.

Santorum is an adult who understands that he did not get the required primary votes and will do what he believes is the right thing - which, in this case, does not include “storming conventions” but does include a responsible effort to defeat Obama and send him packing!

Thank you for your posts.

>>>”if Gingrich had shown the grace to stand down after his loss in Florida.”

Ah, but if Santorum had stood down after Newt’s win in So. Carolina..

:)

It’s a shame that we would have to choose who would be best for the job based on skin color or sex.

&&&
To those of us who really pay attention and vote based on the issues such attributes are meaningless, but the left’s “identity politics” drives the choice patterns of a sizable chunk of the electorate today.

So let's just vote straight democrat in November, you know, to show the left that we conservatives are open-minded.

Pffft. The “responsible” people are all socialists. We’ve lost before we’ve even begun to fight. To hell with Mittens, the GOPe, and all their prostitutes.

The natural conclusion of your position here is that conservative voters are dupes or stupid.

No, the natural conclusion is libs, rinos and otherwise, moderates play power games at our expense.
To many of our “representatives” could care less about the so called people and are just in it for themselves.
I would guess that Romney was for most conservative their last, or next to last, choice.
Not to mention we allow Democrats to vote in Republican caucuses? How insane is that???
Also,Romney was already the nom before my State even got a vote. As well as half the other states who didn’t get a real vote.

NOt sure about Florida but in several other state were not there record low turn outs?
Gingrich was doing good until the Romney smear machine went at it. Even then Gingrich almost got traction.
Had it not been for his so called baggage he might as pulled it off.
Why people (I doubt many solid conservatives)consider LIBERAL Romney a better choice is beyond me..???

marks the first time Santorum will officially campaign for his former Republican primary foe.

BS!! Santorum tried like hell to convince conservatives that Romney was conservative and to vote for him in '08! Evil knows no bounds!

Santorum is the con man's con man - full of lies/deception. He even followed the 'script' to LIE about NEWT - NEWT who was the ONLY conservative in this race.

Still, the bimbo eruptions are his fault. He either was cheating or incapable of standing up to the media. Moreover, his willful lack of ignorance on foreign policy, while acceptable at first, became a burden on his campaign.

Well, the media tried to savage him and failed, but he quit showing he was weak. Had he not quit, he would have been the frontrunner. I don't think the lack of foreign policy knowledge mattered one way or the other. As long as he was around, the focus was on the economy.

Two RINOs on the ticket isn’t the way to go. Romney needs to pick a conservative.

Santorum showed his true colors when he backed Spector for president in 1996 and over Toomey in 2004.

Santorum is a party hack, not a conservative.

He didn't.

Primary Candidate Santorum (2012): "Romney Is No Better Than Obama"

That's the whole point

I agree the early primaries schedule should be changed, long overdue.

And Texas’s primary this year was FUBAR.

I agree with you there. Sad to say this about Republicans. Romney’s people sure did gloss over his issues which Obama team are exploiting.
