Palin: Condi Rice "Would Be A Wonderful Vice President"
Real Clear Politics ^ | July 13, 2012

Posted on 07/13/2012 11:36:49 AM PDT by Free ThinkerNY

"I think that Condoleezza Rice would be a wonderful vice president and she certainly has much more experience than our sitting president," former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) said when asked for her reaction to news that Rice is near the top of Romney's list for VP.

Palin is asked by host of "On the Record" Greta van Susteren what she thought about Rice being "moderately pro-choice."

Palin tells host of "On the Record" Greta van Susteren that she would prefer a pro-life vice presidential candidate, however she says ultimately the power to legislate abortion does not lie with the vice president.

If Obama wins, in 2016 what are the odds we will have a free and fair election? And, after that, that ANY conservative, ever, would be elected again? I put it at zero to, max, 25%.

What sort of evidence do you have to backup the notion election fraud is going to be any greater in 2016 than it has been in the past? Or do you think Obama is going to rig elections, use force to persecute his political enemies and eliminate freedom of the press like Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela, which is a completely paranoid belief?

It's this sort of hyperbole that keeps conservatives voting for establishment Republicans that only take the country further to the left.

Because after all, at the end of the day it's more important to be smugly self-assured of one's superior purity than to actually govern.

It's being pure, voting one's conscience or feeling superior, it is simply about commonsense. Conservatism isn't advanced by voting liberals. Liberal Republicans advance liberalism.

Believe me, we can have economic suffering and out-and-out socialism before we allow unborn children to be slaughtered with no political opposition.

Folks here will excuse anything Sarah Palin says.

Fact is she is wrong on this period. No social conservative would call Condi Rice “wonderful” with a straight face.

Palin did not run when we hoped she would.

This is not magic....there is no cleverness here...no chess game.

She did not run and look where we are now.

Frankly I feel like Rhett to Scarlett.

I don’t give a damn what she says.

Anymore.

I will never forget how she just meekly opted out via Mark Levin...that damned book spooked her. No question to me.

If it wasn’t that then she deserves scorn for leading folks to think she would run for years.

Incredible really.

but the cult continues I’m sure

I deeply appreciate your post and I am also thankful that someone else sees this as a viable solution. The problem is that I am convinced that mitt and his people could not care less whether we vote for him or not. His inaction will prove that what I say is true. I would be pleasantly surprised if he actually signs such a commitment... but I have a better chance of hitting the lottery than mitt signing a binding contract with America that would stop him from following what is truly in his mind and heart.

Conservatives who do not vote for Romney are not conservatives.

You either want to protect this country from Obama, or you’re complicit.

Really????

So when someone like the owner of the website you are so blithely posting such nonsense refuses to vote for Romney, he's not a conservative?

You're not answering my question: Do you think if Romney wins that there will be free and fair elections in 2016?

On the other hand, do you think if Obama wins there will be free and fair elections in 2016?

And I don't feel "locked out" of power at all. In OH, I helped get Jim Jordan elected; contributed to Josh Mandel; got a district committeewoman who is a real conservative elected over a RINO; and on and on. I feel progress every day at my level. But please answer the question.

Bush was a RINO and the vast majority of his administration were RINOs, and that certainly includes the pro-abort, homo-marriage-friendly Rice. She was also a terrible Secretary of State. Ask Donald Rumsfeld about her.

When Palin comes out and starts saying how great of a president Willard will be we will all know she has lost it. I don’t think it will happen. Only last week Hannity asked her what she thought about Willard as the GOP nominee and she said “well Sean, I have always said ANYBODY BOT OBAMA”. Truth of the matter is she despises Willard because he’s a wishy-washy RINO and badmouthed her during the 2008 campaign.

Of course, it could never happen in your state. Impossible.

By the way---and I'm not just throwing this out to "make nice": I think the smartest move Romney could make as a veep would be Goode. He would simultaneously solve a) the conservative concerns (or some small measure of them; b) the ticket-balancing issue; and c) would not take away a sitting senator whom we desperately need in the Senate or a governor from a potential swing state where we will need someone to WATCH the votes! Oh, and d) it would take the 3d party issue off the ballot and ensure Romney wins VA, and, I think, the election.

I don't think Romney will do it, and probably Goode wouldn't do it either, but it would sure be the deal clincher for the election.

No bashing here. Just pointing out that Republicans including Palin need to stop supporting RINOs like Mitt and Rice. When we run Conservative we win. Every time. I want to win the election this fall. But the Rockefeller Republicans run the party and that is formula for failure.

I hope that Romney wins I really do. Just like I hoped Bob Dole would win. But I see a pattern here that I just don't like. I am voting for whoever is running against Obama. But I really think that Mitt Romney is not going to be significantly different.

Republicans and Democrats at the top of the political food chain are intermarrying in Washington DC. They can't be too far apart when they are doing that.

I want to hear Mitt say something thats going to convince the conservatives that he really means business.

I understand your concerns...

Sarah P is not the Second Coming. But, she fought hard and long when most conservative men were hovering, waiting for the wind to blow favorably.

She earned my respect at that point; she ain’t no punk.

She worked for the Tea Parties when “conservative” men were licking their wounds and sticking their finger in the air to see when it was safe.

Blast her all you wish; she carried the fight to the enemy when the men
(save a few) were punks.

Gator113 I am a lifelong Conservative. But our leaders have to stop supporting RINO's The mushy middle does nothing but lose elections. Palin when she supports RINO's ends up with that label. Its not fair but those who you support is a reflection on you especially in politics. I would vote for Palin if she were running and I am voting for Mitt (proof that I don't have PDS). But I am under no illusions that when the Republicans run to the mushy middle they lose elections.

I did not like Bob Dole but I supported him and worked at his campaign headquarters in Atlanta in 96. And when he said he did not feel bound to the GOP platform, I had that huge sinking feeling that we had just lost the election.

The GOP needs to be purged of RINO's And people who support them, they need to form the RINO party or something.

Okay. I apologize for getting so “in your face”. When I see what I consider Palin bashing, I instantly see red. I also don’t disagree with the rest of this post.

As for Romney, I guess time will tell with me. I can’t stand the man, but I absolutely hate Obama’s guts.

There are many folks that consider themselves to be conservatives that have quickly joined in support for Romney. I understand their argument, I truly get it, but I am just not there and I am not sure I will ever be. I keep hoping that something will happen that will be the one piece to put me over, but I am a hard sell.

One thing is certain, I have never seen my country so dan screwed up and for the moment, her future looks very bad.
