Democrats Now Claiming Romney Lied About His Bain Departure, Facts Disagree

With millions out of work, the American growth and jobs pictures dimming, the cost of healthcare skyrocketing, and the national debt spiraling out of control, Democrats are exhibiting some rather strange priorities. On a policy level, they're fixated on raising taxes on nearly one million small businesses (while blocking votes on their own party's proposals) in order to fuel class divisions. On a political level, they're obsessed with baselessly speculating about Mitt Romney's foreign investments (while blithely ignoring their own) and lying about his non-existent role in Bain Capital's supposed "outsourcing" (even amidst revelations that $29 billion in Obama "stimulus" funds were shipped overseas). Their latest conspiracy theory is that Romney stayed on as a member of Bain's active leadership for several years beyond 1999, the year he's often asserted that he left the company to go save the Salt Lake City Olympics. Liberals and the media -- but I repeat myself -- are buzzing about a new Boston Globe story that suggests that Romney hasn't been honest about his personal employment timeline:

This won't have any legs--assuming Romney continues to attack Obama as a liar. This last ad was good, but I wish they would sat something about, "Obama is so desperate to win reelection and so bankrupt of ideas that he is reduced to lying about his opponent."

But mainly, ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!

If I were Romney, I would box up all Bain information, go in front of the people and say....”Here it is. When you turn over all your college records, social security records, draft records and original birth certificate, you can have them.” Play the same game.

I said this before, if Obama and his people feel that Romney has committed a felony, he owes it to the people to have Romney arrested and tried.

If I were Romney I would ignore these Chihuahua charges and stay on the offense while touring his accomplishments in business and Obama’s lack of any accomplishments throughout his entire life.

If provides all his Bain info then they pick through it and find some nit picky discrepancy to harp on. Instead stay on offense and only go on defense for substantive charges not noise like this.

Why would any young, successful attorneys sign agreements to surrender their law licenses unless they were under some legal threat if they didn't do so?

when will someone demand that the Obama's disclose the records on THIS???

So, tell us, WHERE did Romney have his money invested from 1999 to 2002?

Anyone have any idea?

Sure, he walked away from a management interest in Bain during that period, but what did he do with his previous investments in Bain ~ should be easy to address, besides that's where we can make some moral judgments about this guy.

The records on 'this' are pretty much public. You can go back 3 years and there are some extensive FR discussions of the matter laying out all the possibilities.

Best way to get there is go to Google.com (or some other search engine of your ideological preference) ~ look for FREEREPUBLIC OBAMA LAW LICENSE

That should pop up enough material to satisfy everyone.

I am really enjoying that obama and his supporters are wasting their energy on Romney’s record at Bain. From what I can catch, most of the country really doesn’t understand Bain or really care. Therefore the more time the obama team spends on this, is like sending money and energy into a vacuum.

Rezko doesn’t run a brokerage. He’s a Roma. He runs highly sophisticated pigeon drop operations.

It only takes a handful of people to understand how Romney invested his own money to get a take on his basic moral code, if any.

He's got time to bow out ~ if he's the sort of anti-prolifer i think he is.

That's the issue here ~ you'll never hear about that problem from the Democrats. They also like dead babies.

I chose not to dip my spear in the blood of the innocent.

"So, tell us, WHERE did Romney have his money invested from 1999 to 2002?"

Not important. That's not the question. As long as he had no control or influence over operations at Bain, this is a non-issue.

That having been said, Romney's team needs to get on top of this immediately and quash the story with facts before it becomes bigger than it deserves. He needs to give a presser and take the question from the newsies. Luckily for him, we are still far enough from the elections that this, properly handled, will just be a bump in the road.

There is, of course, a sort of moral standard that says it doesn't really matter where you invested your money as long as you weren't making the decisions.

Then, there's real morality that says you are what you buy and you can't escape that.

So, it's really, really, really important to now where Mitt put his money. It is remarkably unimportant how he managed it ~ whether from afar, negligently, or with minute by minute interest.

Ownership is a continuum.

Ownership is CONTROL and INFLUENCE. Romney and his senior MIttbots have to quit futzing around the periphery with this BS about "he didn't exercise' and just tell us where his money was.

We can take it from there.

Failure to address that question is what is hurting him.

Again, how he invested his money is irrelevant to this entire conversation. It has absolutely no bearing on the factuality Bane charges being made by the Obama administration.

As long as he was not exercising any control over the corporation and its investments, where means nothing.

"Morality" in investment is laughable. You going to worry about every charge of immorality by every liberal against every corporation around the world when you are considering where to invest.

Investment isn't about morality, it's about where I can put my money to maximize it's growth. Only a chump worries about what liberals and eco-nuts claim about a corporation.

A wise investor looks at how the company's performing, it's balance sheet, it's outstanding debts, what kind of management it has, and if it's practicing best business practices.

Your response is why I said in a different thread that owning a brothel doesn't turn you into a saint.

What I did not say was that none of your buddies in the field of investment would care.

What I also didn't say, and apparently you would find laughable, is that I might judge a candidate on how he invests his money.

Here's the guy running for public office and he wants my vote but let's say he puts his money into a high turnover business like a brothel for the benefits of the cash flow.

I'm not going to ignore that when i get to the voting booth, and might even decide to help out his opponent who invested only in booster seats for children.

If your most recent excuse for Romney is that he's too rich and has too much money to have the slightest idea of where his investments went, then he's a ditz, and you are misrepresenting what we know about investors.

Those guys know down to the penny where ever cent is ~ in broad categories that probably aren't as broad as you imagine. The Bain guys INVEST IN LEADERS in the field ~ and try to turn them into THE LEADER.

If one of their investments is picking up aborted children for recycling (into what?) they will know that.

At the moment an awful lot of Mittbots are telling us they are amoral riff raff of the sort we usually avoid if we can. But you want our votes for your boy.

Time to tell all ~ BTW, he's going before the press now. What are the odds one of those jerks is going to ask him where his money is. Like they all have fact checkers and they've found my question is a hot one on Google.com.
