No. The absolute last thing in the world that we need is for Romney to be perceived as being the delayed third Bush term.
YES!
What’s the question?
YES!
What’s the question?
Bringing in Condi would make it Obama vs Bush again......does the GOP really want to go there?
Whatever... its gonna be a RINO/RINO ticket whoever he picks
Would like to know alot more about her views on conservative values
Yes, she knows foreign policy and Willard is ignorant in that area.
Allen West !!!
Why not choose Condi? Nothing changes, and she has no influence once elected other than an odd vote here or there.
In a word, no, no and no.
I don’t think it will happen. I saw Condi on TV recently saying she was not interested. Political campaigning is not her thing. I don’t think she’d mind being SoS again though.
Got to say that a lot of people on FR will work to destroy whoever the GOP selects and thereby insure an 0bama victory.
No, she’s pro-abortion and pro-Arab spring.
I’m not convinced that such a ticket would be seen by the average “independent” as Bush’s third term.I think most of them would have a fair amount of respect for her. You’ve gotta give her credit for one thing....she hasn’t written a “tell all” book as some have. That suggests loyalty and class to me.
My reaction is: Do anything that helps defeat Obama.
Having a woman and black on the ticket may be appealing to the “independents” who don’t really think much beyond appearances.
Condi is smart and appealing and has experience as SoS.
If Hillary is the surprise VP with Odumbo, then Condi would be a nice foil.
The VP can’t do much harm to the administration and may help win some votes. We conservatives at this point just want the Loser out.
Will Condi remind people of the Bush years? Maybe, but I wonder if the Bush years are looking better with the results of disastrous Obama policies taking hold.
If Obama starts war with Iran in October, attacking Rom as the third term of “warmonger Bush” may ring hollow.
But, this guy argues against it: Anyone But Condi http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304050304577375851104232184.html
Agreed and voted likewise!
Bingo! As much as I like Condi, and I do, she’s too close to Bush and thus the establishment wing of the Republican Party. No. If Mitt gets elected, I am sure there is a cabinet post with her name on it, but not VP. Not this election, anyhow.
Allen West or Newt or Alan Keyes
Paul Ryan would be excellent too but we need him more where he’s at right now.
I didn’t see “AW HELL NO” so I just picked “NO”.
Looks like the yeses have it at the moment.
Wonder if this is a trial balloon? I don’t think they’ll make a final choice until they have some idea of how the pick will be perceived.
Personally, I’m tired of “historic.” She’s not conservative, as I understand conservatism and should something happen to Romney—guess who’s next in line? That choice just ain’t satisfactory!
IIRC, Condi has said on multiple occasions she has no interest in the Vice Presidency.
You can't be serious. "Bush/Cheney" is the very first thing every true independent in America is going to think of when they hear the name Condoleeza Rice.
If Romney is so dumb that he's willing to run as Bush redux, we may as well just go ahead and forfeit the election right now and give Obama his second term.
>> she has no influence once elected other than an odd vote here or there.
Unless Mitt gets that 3AM call that it’s his time to pack his bags and go away to rule Kolob... so to speak.
Shoot me. NOW!
Sorry, no one has to work on whatever Rombama picks ~ they’ll self destruct.
No one ever does until they’re asked ;-)
I like her, and while that isn’t popular here I think she’s a brilliant woman who has served the country well and would be an effective VP.
Of course I’m also an ABO and realize that whatever “we” think will have absolutely no impact on anything. It’s Romney’s call.
I don't think FReepers are working to insure an 0bama victory - they are working to bottle the fool up by taking Congress away from him. If, by some fluke, Romney is elected, he needs to be bottled up just as tightly as 0bama.
If he does I will not vote for him.
Case in point. (Or is that point in case? Whatever)
If he does I will not vote for him.
If he does I will not vote for him.
65/35 for the double RINO ticket.
And facing impeachment on the evening of january 20, 2013
Just what we need- another black person of questionable loyalty and sexual orientation.
Absolutely not. We don’t need Powell-lite anywhere near the Romney campaign.
I see a lot of people on FR that would like to see the GOP refrain from destroying the party and the country. I have real problems with Romney but I’m supporting him and have sent money. I had to remember back when I was saying anybody but obama, we got the anybody. I don’t want to see them make it any worse, we have to beat obama. Many times in life we must perform unpleasant or odious task, some tasks are better attended to before they get worse, I will not vote 3 rd party and I will not NO VOTE, I will vote to beat obama. But we really could use some help from the Romney campaign.
>> If he does I will not vote for him.
>> If he does I will not vote for him.
>> If he does I will not vote for him.
HEY! You only get ONE non-vote per thread! Who do you think you are, a dead Democrat? :-)
Also, she has made it clear that she served Bush upon request, but has no interest in competing for elective office.
Wait, are you trying to suggest Sarah?
Allen West is the best! Anyone else is less.
NO....TO LIBERAL
Top Romney source tells me "no Condi." More: Romney wants someone more comfortable in 'attack dog' mode
https://twitter.com/robertcostaNRO/statuses/223575945188098048
No, no...NO!
Didn’t she along with Colin Powell vote for The One?
No she would still vote for Obama like last time
this....glad to hear about the attack dog mode- Allen West would be perfect but he won’t be the choice....Rubio??? is Paul Ryan up for the attack dog??? then again Christie fits that bill...
Yup she stated... not interested numerous times and if she accepts then she will fit right in with all the other politicians.
