Confessions of a former communist
WND ^ | July 11, 2012 | Joseph Farah

Exclusive: Joseph Farah admits how much his youth matched that of Barack Obama

I have a confession to make.

It might help explain why I fear a second term of Barack Obama so much.

I understand what Obama is and what he is doing because I was once like him: I am a former communist.

As a youth growing up during the Vietnam War, I was influenced by some of the more extreme, anti-American opposition to that conflict and began to identify with the enemy. I became convinced the U.S. epitomized all that was evil in the world.

During high school, I was arrested in what we called “anti-war demonstrations” that should be more accurately termed “anti-American riots.” Just like Obama, my youthful radicalism attracted the attention of powerful and influential people in the country. I was recruited for full-ride scholarships at colleges like Antioch, known for grooming the next generation of leftists. When I got into trouble for refusing to salute the flag, the American Civil Liberties Union was there, johnny-on-the-spot, to defend me and bring the school principal to his knees.

During the euphemistically named “Indo-China Peace Campaign” organized by Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda, I was give the “honor” of serving as a body guard for Fonda, recently returned from North Vietnam where she posed for photographs sitting in an anti-aircraft emplacement meant to shoot down American planes.

I was recruited for terrorist attacks like blowing up chemical plants by older radicals who didn’t have the courage to do it themselves. (I thank God today, I never followed through on these plots.) I wrote for some of the most left-wing periodicals in America – the Guardian, the Liberated Guardian and more.

And my reputation preceded me.

Even after college, when my views had moderated considerably,

That was moi. Member of the Seattle Liberation Front, leading marches.

I became a small business owner and moved far right. McGovern is the only Dim that I ever foolishly voted for.

I know all about the plans we all made to take over the country from the inside, work our way in. And they certainly have.

Thanks for the post.
I never would have guessed that about Mr. Farah.

I forgive you. I was earning a combat ribbon ensuring Iran wouldn’t threaten tanker shipments through Hormuz. Now please wake anyone that needs shaking. FR is the choir. It could use another donation though, if you’d be so inclined.

Didja ever notice how much liberals despise you when they learn that you used to be one of them? In my experience there is nothing they fear (or hate) more than someone who knows how they think and where they are vulnerable when it comes to exposing the garbage they peddle.

Whitaker Chambers in his book “Witness” talks at length about how his communist “friends” turned on him after he repudiated communism. Published in 1952.

One propagandistic technique of Communists was to infiltrate the other ideological side and act like inbred morons, in an attempt to discredit the Right. Given the Birther idiocy that Farah and WMD (along with MSNBC) have propagated, it strikes me that Joseph Farah may very well still be a working Communist. The Tea Party victories in 2010 and in the upcoming 2012 election are in spite of - not because of - Farah’s diligent effort to make the political Right look like idiots.

However; it could be “the People” may be corrupted.. and have the exact givernment that represents them.. A corrupt federal and in many cases State givernment(s) the reflect their ruinous and suicidal political bent..

Looks at the blacks that voted 98+% for Zero...
And the stupid even silly american women that are as deep as a gutter intellectually..

American schools even the colleges and Universitys are dumbed down beyond belief..
Civics and American History are almost totally not taught or salted with much disinformation...

Most (even college educated) have no idea that communism “IS” socialism..

I was apolitical until college. I briefly dated a budding leftist, and she took me to a few “divest South Africa” and anti-Reagan rallies (it was the 80’s). It opened my eyes. All I saw were losers, hairy hippies and unwashed mental cases who would turn out for these events. At the street level, I saw no logic or thinking, only knee-jerk leftism and cliches.

Then I travelled and lived abroad. Communism and Statism are treated like playthings, or just another point-of-view here in the USA, but in many countries, one can see how deadly serious and truly evil these philosophies are.

I read all of Ayn Rand in high school, but in college my phiiosophy 401 prof was the radical Michael Lerner, one-time advisor to Hillary.

An unfortunate lapse in judgment going over to the dark side, but in a way an enlightenment as to the interworkings of the far left.

Luckily I refused the socalled opportunity to join the Viencuega brigade going to Cuba.

Farah - I was invited to meet Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who were still underground for their own acts of domestic terrorism. ...

I was groomed to be a community organizer, but rejected that path. He accepted it and it led him to the White House where he has been a force for evil for the last four years.

Just dang.

As a rightie, you should be proud of Joe Farah. He’s willing to stand for truth while buffeted with ridicule on every side. I’m sure that you DON’T know why Obama has a SS# issued by Connecticut, why a doctor’s signature on the copy of BHO’s “b/c” contains a smiley face, or why several different typing fonts exist on the alleged official form.
I don’t think that this fraud will ever become a major issue, but I’ll be damned if I’ll join any chorus berating a good, decent American who risks his life to publish the truth. Bob

Yep. Hard for me to believe that anybody stupid enough to swallow the communist manifesto 10 years ago is now someone I should believe is now a conservative superstar.

Why? It's called a Road to Damascus Moment. I believe that David Horowitz and Michael Savage had theirs also.

Perhaps at some point you'll have your own Road to Damascus Moment, and your intellectually incurious outlooks (not you, ASF) will change, and realize that while "birthers" like Farah might not have the answers (although I think Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his Cold Case Posse are closing in on such) on the "Obama" birth/life narrative, at least they're asking the questions and trying to get to the bottom of the matter. Or are you saying that there aren't a plethora of unanswered questions surrounding the subject, and Barky's story is on the up-and-up? Even Maraniss doesn't go that far.

Notice who they go after hardest. It either a former Leftist or someone who should be a part of one of their favorite victim groups (black, gay, etc, but did the “Great Escape” from the plantation.
