Fishy: Obama Administration to Close Nine Border Patrol Stations
Townhall.com ^ | July 11, 2012 | Katie Pavlich

Just one month after President Obama signed a back door amnesty executive order for hundreds of thousands of young illegal aliens, his administration is now planning to shut down nine Border Patrol stations, something the people living in border states, Border Patrol agents, local Sheriffs and some Congressman are up in arms about.

Critics of the move warn the closures will undercut efforts to intercept drug and human traffickers in well-traveled corridors north of the U.S.-Mexico border. Though the affected stations are scattered throughout northern and central Texas, and three other states, the coverage areas still see plenty of illegal immigrant activity -- one soon-to-be-shuttered station in Amarillo, Texas, is right in the middle of the I-40 corridor; another in Riverside, Calif., is outside Los Angeles.

So what's the reason for the move? Homeland Security says it is to reallocate resources to other hot spots but illegal immigration, along with drug and human trafficking, are like water and they flow where the openings are.

"These deactivations are consistent with the strategic goal of securing America's borders, and our objective of increasing and sustaining the certainty of arrest of those trying to enter our country illegally," CBP spokesman Bill Brooks said in a statement. "By redeploying and reallocating resources at or near the border, CBP will maximize the effectiveness of its enforcement mandate and align our investments with our mission."

But at least one Border Patrol supervisor in Texas has called on local officers to "voice your concerns" to elected officials, warning that the "deactivation" will remove agents from the Texas Panhandle, among other places. Several members of Congress have asked Border Patrol Chief Michael Fisher to reconsider the plan. And local officials are getting worried about what will happen once the Border Patrol leaves town, since they rely on those federal officials to assist in making immigration arrests.

And as usual, local law enforcement will suffer the consequences of the move.

"It could impact us tremendously since we've only got two agents up here now for 26 counties," Potter County Sheriff Brian Thomas told FoxNews.com.

Potter County, in the Texas Panhandle, would be affected by the planned closure of the Amarillo station.

Thomas said that while his area is far from the border, it's still a major "corridor" for illegal immigrants -- and he said his office depends on Border Patrol to respond to their calls.

"I can't hold a carload of people out there on I-40 for eight hours while somebody comes from El Paso," he said. "I mean, that's just crazy."

We need Property Owners to defend their homes and property against Illegals; shoot on sight under "imminent fear of bodily harm".

An armed populace, doing the job that the DHS REFUSES to do (they want more Dem voters, and Illegals for employment by the businesses that donate to the DNC to look the other way).

As far as I'm concerned, America is our "home", and we have the Right to defend it against Trespassers, and Anchor-baby droppers, too.

Another great campaign gift to defeat RATs, IMO. Now, we need candidates with the cajones to make it known and use it against the Liberal RATs.

Hey! Hey! Hey! Barry has had his toadie, Eric the Holder and "Eric's People" sue Arizona more times than they've sued Texas!!! LOL! ARIZONA might not be #1 on Barry's **** list but we're up there and damn proud of it!

"FISHY" ????

Okay, I am going to take a crack at this. My goal is to discern somehow what the true motive might be for these specific closures.

Now, I gotta say there are alot of factors, and I am not associated with law enforcement, public policy, or government administration. I have on my side little more than some college, some time as a navy enlisted man, some years of experience and a good imagination.

Furthermore, I have no special skills or tools in analysis, no research resources other than google, no special computer software, and no "phone a friend" assistance available to me.

But here are the specific closures scheduled: 3 of them soon I think: Twin Falls, Idaho; Billings, Montana; Riverside, California.

In six months, all in Texas: Lubbock, Amarillo, Dallas, San Angelo, Abilene and San Antonio.

Disclaimer: this is all speculation!

Okay, brainstorming:

"tipping our hand" to smugglers and/or terrorists where our weak points will be

creating a facility and budget downsizing that justifies layoffs of undesirable whistleblowers in the Border Patrol

the closures are associated somehow with states that opposed Obamacare? (I am not familiar with which states those are)

the 6-month closures are a threat to force Rick Perry / state of Texas to do something in order to keep them

Future Muslim enclaves?

negotiated arrangement with Sinoloa cartel and/or La Raza in return for some as yet unknown favor or monetary benefit

tired of fighting with Arizona, and wanting the traffic to come through Texas for a while?

.

Okay I know I am way out there on my conspiracy theory limb, and with little support. But is there anyone besides me out there who has learned to think this way with the Obama administration: 1. Nothing happens without a good reason, 2. Its all interconnected, 3. Its totally self-serving and corrupt.

JMHO. Perhaps someday we will know the truth.

Fishy, indeed.

“...and some Congressman are up in arms about.”

Only some. That pretty much sums up how the con-men in the District of Criminals feel about protecting the US.

A border patrol checkpoint in Amarillo makes about as much sense as having one in Chattanooga. It’s a waste of manpower and money. There’s 10 ways to Sunday around it once they’re out of the Rio Grande are.

Here’s why the D-Rats are so Kind to illegal aliens

The year was 1947.

Some of you may know that on July 8, 1947,

a little more than 64 years ago, numerous witnesses claim that

an Unidentified Flying Object, (UFO), with five aliens aboard,

crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico .

This is a well-known incident that many say has long been covered-up

by the U.S. Air Force, as well as other Federal Agencies and Organizations.

However, What you may NOT know is that in the month of April, year 1948,

nine months after the historic day, the following people were born:

Barrack Obama Sr.

Albert A. Gore, Jr.

Hillary Rodham

William J. Clinton

John F. Kerry

Howard Dean

Nancy Pelosi

Dianne Feinstein

Charles E. Schumer

Barbara Boxer

Joe Biden

This is the consequence of aliens breeding with sheep and jack-a$$$$.

I truly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for you.

It certainly did for me.

And now you can stop wondering why they support the bill to help all Illegal Aliens!!!

LOL

And yet this ass hat can find the money to hire thousands of additional IRS Brown Shirts to enforce his new health care tax. The hubris is getting so bad that even some of the less brain dead sheeple are starting to sense that all is not well.

AG Holder’s no voter ID measures need warm bodies to come in and vote for Obama in 11/12 so the borders are now wide open.

OK, I will take a stab at it.....

Everyone in DC is complicit in the total abdication of their oath to the Constitution....

Our dictator (prince john albeit the pres) and the sheriff of nothingham Holder have by design torn down every visage of constitutional infrastructure, for their own agenda.

Sycophantic media are contemptible beyond belief.

The electorate are as conflicted as the Vichy French and dumber that the German populaces of 1930's, and willing to stick their heads in the proverbial sand (just because of the color of their skin.

Which comes to the only conclusion available.....

Treason

Good is bad, bad is good.

The film "Blazing Saddles" Heady Lamar laments the last thing he needs is a strong Sheriff for Rock Ridge, so they convince the Gov (Mel Brooks) to use someone that is a causes the people to revolt (Kinda)....

This is a one/two punch if I’ve ever seen one. Close down these stations and force neighboring stations to cover the slack. Next, require better enforcement of the area’s where the stations were closed leaving the operational station basically un-guarded. Bad guys do bad things by the OPEN station (because it is basically un—staffed at this point) and when a bad guy is caught deep in the United States, blame the Border Patrol and close more stations because “the Border patrol is not doing their jobs and costing the tax payers money; we’ll use drones instead...”. We become completely borderless.
