ASSIGNMENT OF NATIONAL SECURITY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMUNICATIONS FUNCTIONS

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

But what does it mean? It seems like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me.

Does a 6 meter rig, rx and tx in an altoids can sound like a DXer? Longest I ever worked a station with it (CW obviously) was 400 miles, back when we had sunspots.

If I want DX, I'd put up a 100ft tower and slap a monster yagi on it.

I do like playing with milliwatt power homebrew transmitters.

Fun times. Keeps me off the streets. ;)

Would a document such as this one be signed “BARACK OBAMA,” without any title of office?

You know, much as I agree with you and am ready to vote for the RINO...I am really, really starting to wonder if we are ever going to make it to November.

And even if we do, there’s 2 more months before he has to leave, which he won’t.

I do believe the Devil is in the white house, and no law means anything to him.

0bama can issue as many EO’s as he wishes, he can pontificate and make all the proclamations his ego will produce but in the end there absolutely WILL be one or more loyal military officers who will not violate their Oath to “preserve, protect and defend” the Constitution of the United States, and they will do whatever becomes necessary before total darkness descends upon our Land.

Take that to the bank (if your bank is still open ;).

Wake Up!

Sec. 5.6. The Federal Communications Commission performs such functions as are required by law, including: (a) with respect to all entities licensed or regulated by the Federal Communications Commission: the extension, discontinuance, or reduction of common carrier facilities or services; the control of common carrier rates, charges, practices, and classifications; the construction, authorization, activation, deactivation, or closing of radio stations, services, and facilities; the assignment of radio frequencies to Federal Communications Commission licensees; the investigation of violations of pertinent law; and the assessment of communications service provider emergency needs and resources; and ...

Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound like a smart alec. I don’t know what it means either, but he’s got the authority to put a commission together to come up with ways to do things in times of emergency, blah blah. The commerce clause has already been warped to give the Executive branch the power to regulate telecommunications, hence the FCC (part of the Dept. of Commerce) already has the ability to control radio, TV, phones, and the internet. And they report to the President, so this isn’t exactly a shocking development. The sticky part is - who determines what is an emergency and under what circumstances could the President could take control of things? That seems to be the kind of question this commission will attempt to answer...

Lots of spark gap guys from Cuba used to hang out there, right under the CCCP, until they got caught and killed.

I would never break a law tied to a treaty like the ITC agreement. I've had a licence since forever.

Having basic skillsets is important, though.

Freedom requires skills. 73's.

I can not see Obumbo doing it, as his Commie supporters also
rely on the Internet as much as anyone. Even the DUmmies would be pissed.

My question is...If Obumbo shuts down the Internet in the USSA, how will it effect the net internationally?
Other then FR and some Email contacts, a US shutdown would not have so much impact on me.

So do I, obviously. FM on 6-meters is my favorite. When we have propogation.

Digital modes... got it, don't use it much, besides CW.

I grew up building homebrew stuff. I'll probably croak out with a half-finished project in a box somewhere.

If Obama loses, look forward to ten weeks of Executive Orders that will make your head spin.

I'm sure he will also be Pardoning a few Black “Political Prisoners” who are convicted Cop Killers.

No doubt in my mind.

This makes sense. No one is stopping him, so he’s simply continuing to take, take, take. Dictators are like that.

Sorry for the gross political incorrectness, but can anyone name a prominent black national leader at the executive level who did NOT become a dictator? I mean in ALL of world history.

It doesn’t mean Obama is GOING to become a full dictator, no, but if he does not I believe he would then be the first or second in world history who did not.

That’s just a guess, and I’ll welcome it if someone corrects me.
