What is interesting is that it met all of the safety requirements that the Feral govt mandated at the time.

Several years after the SRM got through bashing Ford there was a tidbit in one of the Houston newspapers on page 43D or something where after some tests the NTSB concluded that the Pinto was actually safer than the Toyotas, Datsuns, and Mazdas of the same time.

Of course we can’t advertize that and blow the Japanese quality myth now can we.

Fact is the only thing that ANYONE built during that time period that was any good was American trucks.

Don’t you mean people say anything about my car!! I have a 1973 Pinto, and if TSHTF with EMP, it will be the only thing running in this county, at least.
