Kevin Madden, a Republican communications expert with long ties to Mitt Romney, will become a more frequent and visible spokesman for the presidential campaign, a source close to the decision said on Friday.
The increased responsibilities for Mr. Madden came in the wake of criticism from nervous Republicans about Mr. Romney’s campaign team. The Wall Street Journal said in an editorial that the campaign “looks confused in addition to being politically dumb.”

It remains to be seen how the new guy does, but let’s hope he doesn’t screw up as badly as Eric Fehrnstrom. The Etch-a-Sketch thing was bad enough, but when he directly contradicted his boss in public on the largest issue of that day, he needed to be gone instantly.
Fehrnstrom has trouble remembering who’s the boss.

For those who just walked into the room, Eric Fehrnstrom is the fool who said ObamaTax isn’t a tax, but a penalty, at the same time Romney was starting to get traction with his message it’s a tax, not a penalty. He completely defocused one of the few messages Romney was getting clarity on. Because of Fehrnstrom, the media was able to gleefully jump on what they call a flip-flop.

One week prior to the general election, former Romney spokesman Kevin Madden took to the airwaves (on CNN) and defamed Sarah Palin, setting off a media storm over an alleged fight between Team McCain and Team Palin. They were the very early opening salvos in the battle for the party. Fox News expanded on off-the-record anti-Palin comments tonight. Was traitor Kevin Madden for those comments?

It looks like there might be some truth to those rumors former Mitt Romney supporters are already trying to clear Sarah Palin from the GOP presidential deck to make room for their man Mitt in 2012.
Former Romney Spokesman Kevin Madden was particularly harsh on Palin in an interview on CNN. His criticism of Palin is especially noteworthy because we’re only days from the election.
In a spot with Campbell Brown Madden said Palin’s wardrobe flap showed how “unseasoned” Palin is.
AND YET.... they're all at least 10,000 times BETTER than the Satanic slime currently degrading the Oval office.... Before you start thinking about "write-in" votes or staying home on election day, please consider the alternatives. I had a bumper sticker that I never put on my bumper after 911 because it was just tooooo harsh for the spot the country was in but I'll use it on Nov 7th if we lose because the right buckled. The sticker said: "Whining liberals of America..... THIS IS YOUR FAULT!"
I don't like Mittens. But I hate the alternative far far more.

When I was in St. Paul for the Republican Convention, more than a dozen people told me acolytes of Mitt Romney were feeding all the stories to the media portraying Palin in a negative light.
In fact, I heard that one of the biggest pushers of anti-Palin stories, including encouraging reporters to pursue the “Trooper-gate” story was Romney spokesman Kevin Madden.
Well, the election IS in the Fall [rimshot]...
For Romney to bring back this cowardly piece of dog excrement is a disgrace.
