Restaurant Faces Investigation For Offering Church Discount

A family-owned restaurant in Pennsylvania is under a state discrimination investigation for offering a ten percent discount for diners who present a church bulletin on Sundays.

The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission confirmed there is an investigation against Prudhomme’s Lost Cajun Kitchen in the town of Columbia. The complaint was filed by John Wolff, a retired electrical engineer.

“I did this not out of spite, but out of a feeling against the prevailing self-righteousness that stems from religion, particular in Lancaster County,” Wolff told the York Daily Record. “I don’t consider it an earth-shaking affair, but in this area in particular, we seem to have so many self-righteous religious people, so it just annoys me.”

We have a restaurant in Sarasota, FL that offers a discount for church bulletins. What is to stop the Atheist for getting a church bulletin? What’s the difference between that or having to buy a paper to get a coupon? Just more proof that many Atheists are just haters of Christians. If they don’t believe in God, why do they care if someone else does?

It’s a PRIVATE business so they should be allowed to do whatever the heck they want. And that should include allowing patrons to smoke.

This goes back to the civil “rights” era. Back in the days when a private business could refuse service to ANYONE.

This puke is concerned with what he considers 'self righteousness' in his community ~ so he went to court to sue a restaurant over the matter.

I am flabbergasted at his arrogance, and his stupidity.

Where are those jihadis when you really need them!

That might have been true before HusseinCare.

Our domestic enemies have been emboldened to try to strip other Constitutional rights from us.

What bothers me more than the idiot who filed the complaint?

The fact that the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission took it and believes it has the right to decide the restaurant’s fate.

THAT is government going too far.

People should be outraged and contacting their elected officials, especially those who supervise or oversee the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.

Wonder if he has any self-righteous lawsuits up his sleeve against Student and Senior discounts too?

This “investigation” is disgusting. The state has no business interfering with the owner’s choices in running his business. I hope the petty tyrants responsible for abusing government power are either fired or voted out of office.

It’s time to separate us from them. Like in Israel, between Pals and Israelis, with a border fence.

They get Hawaii, the Northeast, West Coast and some Western/Southwestern states they took via the illegals invasion that they and part of GOP welcomed.

I don’t want to live in the same nation as these scum any more. Let’s do it.

I am offended by this yahoo being ‘disturbed’ by “so many self-righteous religious people” which, the last I saw, was no against any law. This active investigation by the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission is legal blackmail by the most easily offended. The restaurant was obviously practicing thought crimes against the secularist cause.

Most of us, if we don’t like the business practices of a business, consider it sufficient to avoid that company. I personally will never do business with Progressive Insurance and anything else run by Peter Lewis who uses his wealth to fund Move-On and the like.

I hope that this case gets thrown out immediately! Unfortunately, this is government bureaucrats at work - not going to happen.

Next up will be programs like this: Disney Military Appreciation Days*

Thank God I got to take my family last month before the Pennsylvania Human Rights Board had a chance to stop us!

* "Eligible Service Members" are active or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, Reservists and the U.S. Coast Guard. The actual prices charged at U.S. military base ticket offices for Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be less than the prices set forth above. Participating military sales outlets will require that Eligible Service Members (or their spouses) present valid military identification to purchase Disney Military Promotional Tickets.

As a vendor, I reserve the right to not serve John Wolff. And I wish I was closer to that restaurant so I could support them.

I guess its just easier these days to go find a lawyer and file a lawsuit instead of, y’know, going down the street to another restaurant.

Let’s face it: some of our countrymen can’t sleep at night knowing that someone, somewhere is worshipping a G-d that isn’t Obama.

So can I sue businesses that offer Veteran discounts? In a nearby city many merchants offer these discounts as a way of saying thank you. The sanctimonious SOBs. /s.

Isn't a business free to set it's own prices? Or did I miss some new executive order establishing Obama price controls on everything, not just healthcare?

Wow weird. Just go to any church parking lot and pick up a bulletin off the ground if you don’t want to go to church.
People give discounts for all sorts of reasons.
Wear green - ST Patrick’s day
Wear red - Valentine’s Day
R/W/B - 4th of July
and on and on
Good grief some people just have way to much time.

Columbia is a quiet little town in north central Pa. Very frustrating to have to go through something like this but the owners, good for them, are not backing down.
