(MAUMEE, Ohio) -- Senior Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod today accused Republican presidential rival Mitt Romney of being “the most secretive candidate that we’ve seen, frankly, since Richard Nixon.”
He “won’t release his tax returns, won’t reveal his bundlers, left Massachusetts with the hard drives from his computer. He believes in keeping the public in the dark,” Axelrod said in an interview with ABC News Radio behind the scenes at the first stop on Obama’s campaign bus tour through Ohio.
Axelrod said Romney’s portfolio of offshore investments – which include a Bermuda-based company, funds in the Cayman Islands and a Swiss bank account — raises what he called a “Bermuda Triangle” of financial questions.
“Just what were the benefits there? Did he actually pay taxes in some years? We don’t know,” he said.

Tell Axelrod that some of us would like to know how Mr. Obama got to the USA to go to college on a Fullbright Scholarship. Which Passport was used. I couldn’t find this story on the Washington Post yet. It’s an ABC story; Nixon is their victim; they may stand on claims of exclusivity and ignore it.
ABC Radio News led (of course) with this story, but closed it out with a reasonably effective retort from the Romney camp.

Does David Axelrod know who Barrack Obama is? Does David Axelrod realize that he is talking about the current president of the United States? The people know practically NOTHING about Obama, nothing. He was never vetted by the MSM.
Nixon was an open book compared to our current president. Maybe Axelrod can release those "Fast and Furious" documents and be less secretive.
When I first started working in the mines, I belonged to the Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers, a pretty openly communist union. A couple of years later, while I was in the Army, the USWA (Steelworkers) took them over. As a result, I know exactly the background Axelrod comes from. For many years, I heard rhetoric similar to his in the union hall. The lies were one thing but the fact that a lot of fairly normal people believed them was something else.
Ok. I hate Romney and think he is a communist like Obama. However, I even know this is really funny coming from the Obama Administration.
