Dark economic clouds gather anew over Obama campaign

(Reuters) - After a month in which his re-election campaign picked up momentum, hard economic realities are about to hit President Barack Obama as he takes to the road on a campaign bus trip through the Rust Belt.

Poor manufacturing data earlier this week followed by a likely weak jobless report on Friday are reminding Obama that he has a lot of work to do to convince voters he is bringing the economy back to full health.

A Supreme Court victory for Obama on healthcare and a surprise expansion of immigration laws that put Republican opponent Mitt Romney on the defensive on the issue may soon fade from memory.

"By Friday, the Supreme Court will be in the rear-view mirror and everybody will be talking about the state of the economy," said Greg Valliere, an analyst for institutional investors at Potomac Research Group.

"I think the debate on Friday will be whether the economy is still growing or whether we've hit a brick wall," he said.

U.S. manufacturing activity contracted in June for the first time in nearly three years, data showed on Monday, stark evidence of a slowing economic recovery and that Europe's debt crisis is weighing on the U.S. economy.

And the monthly jobless figures, the most closely watched economic indicator, are expected to be lackluster.

Interesting.
The world economy is slowing rapidly, so the medium-term trend is likely down.

Undoubtably, that reporter reneged on a promise to nobama to not be so niggardly in his praise.

“Uber Allein”

To (Deutschland Uber Alles)

Obamaland hypnotizes all,
O’er each freedom in the world,
We require domination,
We kneel together in servitude.
From th’Eastern Shores to the Western
From the Yukon to the Baja -
Obamaland hypnotizes all
O’er each freedom in the world.

Obama thugs, Obama loyalty,
Obama beer. Obama song,
Shall infect in the world,
Their angry mafia
Demands th’ignoble deeds:
Age-defined lives.
Obama thugs, Obama loyalty,
Obama beer. Obama song.

One form, one fiat—serfdom
For the Obamination Lands
Let’s dictate, manufacture chaos
Right on cue, with fists and fights!
Caprice, fiat and true serfdom
Are th’objective for each class
Infects by stealth, by lies, by jackboots
Praised in Obamination Lands.

Obamaland hypnotizes all,
In destruction all the more.
In seditious organizing can hate
Show extreme subterfuge.
And so treason should wipe out
Free generations’ history:
Obamaland hypnotizes all,
In destruction all the more.

Early, 2010

Yet ABC Evening News continues to do their upbeat America segment ... save Obama campaign. Small upstart cookie company in rural (anywhere America) sells a batch of cookies on the Internet to a customer in outer Slobovia ... trade deficit erased. Save Obama ... thank you note to Diane Sawyer from the WH the next day.

Could be, but I live in oil country and we watch that up-tick with close interest. :)

Our unemployment locally sits at about 3%.

Barack Obama: proof once again that socialism doesn’t work.

Nor does affirmative action.

“............they don’t want to work.

How will Obama deal with this reality?”

Should be interesting. Obama doesn’t want to work either.

Naaaa. He lost the middle long ago. They aren’t even listening to him now. Doesn’t matter how the media tries to distort. Only Romney running a really bad campaign can lead to an obama victory.

I’ve even seen a couple polls already show the mushy middle is warming up to 0bamaCare now.

Yeah, well the people are getting the government they deserve. Unfortunately, the few of us with any sense are going down the toilet with them.

I told my BIL that when he can't see a doctor when he wants, or can't get needed care in a timely manner that I will gleefully say "I told you so". Anyone that voted for Obama & intends to vote for him again gets no sympathy from me if they suffer from lack of medical attention. Quite the opposite.

“Yeah, well the people are getting the government they deserve.”

Yeah, I’m with you on that! I hope everyone that suffers reprecussions from 0bamaCare and every other 0bama policy are those who vote for and support him whole heartily while us who reject his Marxism and Godlessness somehow get by.

I don’t know how we are going to survive though, I really don’t. Life has sucked since 0bama took office and it gets worse everyday. But a lot of people still love him.

What kinds of promises should one expect from Mr. International Man of Mystery?

The guy's a complete disaster.

“Poor manufacturing data earlier this week followed by a likely weak jobless report on Friday are reminding Obama that he has a lot of work to do to convince voters he is bringing the economy back to full health.”

Poor manufacturing data and a weak jobless report means that he is NOT bringing the economy back to full health, that the OPPOSITE continues to occur. But “he has a lot of work to do to convince voters...”.

LOL. But it’s probably more likely that the reporter is simply ‘uncomfortable’ with having a black in the highest office in this country.

Sad, but there are still racists left in this country.

(that’s how us conservatives should start talking - see how the left likes that)
