Santorum to social conservatives: Romney's message is 'right on'
CNN ^ | June 16, 2012 | Gregory Wallace and Martina Stewart

Former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum gave a signal to social conservatives on Saturday: Mitt Romney's "message is sound. It's solid."

On Saturday, Santorum's praise was warm.

"The concern I had - I did, I was very frank about it - was that Governor Romney would track to the middle as so many Republican candidates have done, but I'm not seeing that," Santorum said. "I'm seeing him stand by those convictions that he articulated in the primaries and I'm hopeful."

Screw mitt romney and the horse he rode in on. I don’t vote for liberals and they don’t come any more liberal than romney. He’s utterly worthless.

I just wish I hadn’t woke up before seeing Boehner weeping at Sarah Palin’s inauguration. Three boxes of Kleenex!

Bingo. I’m sick of the griping about Romney. He isn’t as bad as Obama—he at least has worked in the private sector and he wasn’t nurtured by communists. Yeah, I know his part of the middle to liberal Republican party bloc. I realize that. On his worst day he is still ten times better than Obamugabe.

If Romney is one thing, he IS a winner — he turned the Olympics around and turned around many failing businesses.

Well, I know lots of folks in Utah, and they've told me exactly what Romney did vis a vis the Olympics. He came in and glossed over a huge scandal. He's real good at covering up the truth, you see.

But let's look at his track record in campaigns for a minute.

The first time out he lost to Teddy Kennedy, attempting to run against that old socialist warhorse from the Left.

Then he ran for Governor, and won, by being more liberal than the liberal Democrats.

After running the Commonwealth, and his party, into the ground, with gay marriage, and homosexuality in the schools, and liberals on the courts, and banned guns, and socialized medicine, complete with $50 co-pay taxpayer-funded abortions, and higher taxes, he bugged out and started running for President.

*shake the etch-a-sketch*

He lost in his 2008 run for the presidency to that old liberal dinosaur, John Judas McCain, even after expending huge mountains of his own and other people's money.

This time out he bought everybody in the GOP who could be bought. He bludgeoned the competition into the dust using oceans of money from the super pacs. With the help of the GOP-e, he won the primaries, even though vast swaths of the base of the party refused to vote for him.

And now? Even his own supporters can't stand him. They can't defend him, or his record.

I've never seen anything like it, in more than twenty years of activism and campaign work. While I don't make predictions, I find it hard to believe that a candidate could ever expend enough money to buy a general election like this. Without voter intensity, there's no way to get across the finish line. Abject fear can only take them so far.

He is by far the worst candidate the GOP has run for president in my lifetime. The only reason he has any chance whatsoever, no matter how unlikely, is because the Democrats are running the worst incumbent since Jimmy Carter.

The most likely outcome, though? Millions of conservatives leave their principles by the door for Romney, and still lose to Obama, as bad as he is.

Prove to us that you are not for Obama, then, would you?

It would be the opinion of ANY political observer that you are doing everything in your power to get Obama re-elected.

Fighting words?

So what? Your actions speak very loudly that you like and want Obama for another 4 years.

Loathing is more like the general mood towards Obama. Most Americans see little to loathe in Mitt Romney and it’s going to stay that way because what, is Barack Obama ever, ever going to pan Mitt for being “too liberal”?!?

Are you payiing attention?

Bachman has endorsed Romney
Cain has endorsed Romney
Gingrich has endorsed Romney
Santorum has endorsed Romney

In fact, the only person who ran in the Primary who has not yet endorsed Romney is that whack job Ron Paul.

And I have to say, most of the Freepers who keep promoting Obama (By bashing Romney) don't even look as smart as the Paul-bots!

Really?

I realise that this is the mostest importantest election evah and all that, but do you folks really expect us all to just ignore Romney record from the last two decades, on the basis of Romney’s “message” now that he knows he has to mouth platitudes to prevent a full-out conservative revolt?

Seriously?

What else do you do besides post political strategy here?

It is sincerely hoped that you have some talent, at something.

You demonstrate none on this thread.

Romney will be the nominee, there is no doubt that Romney will be the nominee.

There is also no doubt that you are helping Obama.

To be frank, Barack Obama is the best publicist for Mitt Romney that Mitt could ever get. Barack looks at that waffle house and thinks EGAD! A CONSERVATIVE THAT’LL KILL EVERYTHING I WORKED FOR! and addresses his audiences that way, all full of himself of course. Mitt just stands there grinning, please please Barack do throw me in that briar patch!!

There’s not going to be much of a “full-out conservative revolt.” Who’s going to lead it? Who’s going to fund it? In the meanwhile Barack is pointing at Mitt and screaming, to the tune of his billion dollar Democrat campaign budget, LOOK! HORRIBLE TERRIBLE CONSERVATIVE, WILL DESTROY MY WHOLE LEGACY!

That’s what’s going to carry America for Mitt.

"The overwhelming majority of conservatives will vote for Romney because they believe the alternative is worse." Listen to Bruce Campbells chin, you Romney loving/hating ... primates! He's giving it to you straight. Stop writing `I Heart Romney' love letters and `I-Hate-Mitt' posts and start telling him what we have to have from him if he wants our support. If he doesn't promise to try, don't vote for him. If he doesn't deliver, we have four years to find a conservative replacement and Obama is safely relegated the first week in November to writing more books about himself and a three-way race with Carter and Clinton for `Worst President Ever.' The alternative to Gromit is Zero, and that's not acceptable; the result of giving Milton a blank check is that he thinks we want another "compassionate conservative" president. Snap out of you morons! There's no whinging in politics. At least not here, not on FR.

Grow up.
It is not your decision.
It is not your call.

Your only choice is:

Vote against Obama or do things (like you are doing here) that help Obama.

Only a vote for Romney will count as a vote against Obama.
