Gallup: Public split evenly on Court’s ObamaCare decision, 46/46

There are actually two polls out tonight on this, but being a dirty, dirty eeyore, I had to lead with the pessimistic one. As a prelude to the data, here’s Wesley Smith writing yesterday at The Corner:

"I think there is a lot of whistling past the graveyard going on among conservatives who think that Obamacare is really in the political crosshairs now, and indeed, could lead to the defeat of the president’s reelection effort. I worry that the opposite is true. Sure, opponents who care a lot about the constitutionality and policy propriety of the ACA are very upset and motivated to defeat the president. But they already were. For the relatively uninvolved, the message of the Roberts ruling, despite the justice’s protests to the contrary, is that Obamacare is A-okay. That will increase the law’s popularity — just as Roe v. Wade did with abortion. Alas."

The court may have guaranteed him another 4 years. He needed a huge win like this and they handed it to him.

BS.

Obamacare consistently polls negative. This single poll is on the USSC decision itself.

Ubama is gone, gone, gone, and he knows it.

Not only is this BS I think just about everything being reported or polled these days is a lie in one form or another. I don’t know who or what to believe anymore.

Everything is spun somehow.

This is BS though. Only the mouth breathers here in Texas favor this crap.

Ubama is gone, gone, gone, and he knows it.

I agree with you.

I just hope that the Spanish firm that 0b0z0's commies hired to count OUR votes, where Soros has stock in, will not do a Lenin-type counting (Doesn't matter who votes, it matters who's counting!)

If that happens, God forbid, then we will have to use the feral call, No Justice, No Peace!

I said I would never vote for Romney, that nothing could ever make me vote for Romney. But today, I’ve changed my mind. I found something that will make me vote for Romney. The hope that he will repeal obamacare!

Well, actually, my hope is that Romney will repeal obamacare, then take the whole 27 thousand pages of obamacare & cram them so far up obama’s butt that they will never see the light of day ever ever again!

I think Roberts is a traitor and the decision was treason, but I do agree with the arguments that it ultimately hurts Obama’s re-election chances, not helps them.

It puts anti-ObamaCare back on the front burner where it was in 2010, when we one big in the mid-terms.

The same thing could happen again, if enough of us work together. I realize that some here in FR don’t want to work together, but that’s ok, I’m talking to those who do.

The court may have guaranteed him another 4 years.

He wishes. Notice the democrats don't want to talk about it. They want to "move on."

People are starting to talk about what's actually in the bill, the cost, and the fact that it's a massive tax increase for a new massive entitlement program. That's not good for Oboma, because the working class - from both parties - is going to get hammered so the freeloaders can get more free stuff.

This info wasn't suppose to come out until 2013 - after the election. It's coming out now. Oboma is on the defense. The Republicans, if they don't screw it up [What are the odds? (/s)], have the ball. THEY have to keep the issues alive rather than let the lefts MSM set their agenda. STICK TO THE IMPORTANT SUBJECTS!

Republicans can draw attention to this massive new entitlement program that leaves the working class paying the bill.
Obomas green policy costs us billions, and all of it was lost in bankruptcies.
Tax dollars to GM were outsourced overseas.
China makes the Obomabulb we're all being forced to use now, rather than American made light bulbs.
We're $16 trillion in debt, most of it due to Oboma spending. He holds the tax and spend record.
Unemployment (the spin number) is 8.1 and rising. By the end of summer, all that seasonal help will have to go.
There's also Obomaweapons being used to kill people on the border floating around in the background.

There's sooooo much the Republicans should use. When the election gets a little closer, they should come out swinging - politely, of course ("incite them to anger, and then use that anger against them" - Saul Alinski).

I detest that plasticized corps (Romney) with that phony glued fixed smile.

I don’t trust him any more than I trust the Kenyan bastard.

P.S.

When did Romney’s father, George, become an American citizen…if he became one at all?

I still say someone is lying because I’ve seen nothing under 70% opposed and many polls over 80% opposed.

The only people who seem to be happy are those who live on tax payer dollars. Those who don't collect a government check of some kind oppose this.

In other words, the freeloaders love it - it's free.
The working class hates it - they have to pay for another massive welfare program (and most are having a hard time supporting their own families after they're done supporting everyone elses).

If this poll is accurate it’ll only take 1% voter fraud to re-elect obama. And the poll may even change to favor him once the media preaches it’s not a tax.

Split evenly?! Why? Let’s review: The federal government does not have the power to force people to buy anything. Second, the federal government only has three taxing powers at it’s disposal (excise tax, income tax, and—crudely put—a head count tax).

The Supreems themselves said the commerce clause was violated by this law but, (and here’s the sickening part) to overcome this fact they called the mandate portion a tax which is also unconstitutional. When pressed on what taxing power the feds wouls be using to collect this tax, Judge Robert’s seemed to say, “Let’s not got get bogged down in labeling or defining this tax.” Nevermind that as a judge it’s his very job to get bogged down on such matters of law. In the end, Joe Q will submit to buying insurance he doesn’t want or being unconstitutionally taxed by the feds

We have a saying in my family when things get a little tense: “Sometimes you’re not supposed to be right, you’re just supposed to be nice.” To me, this is ultimately the reasoning Judge Robert’s used in making his decsision. He allowed this clearly unconstitutional law to pass simply to be nice...to President Obama, to the Dems, and ultimately to his legacy.

Many have also argued that Obama care may not be constitutional but, at least it fixes the problem. To this I say, a lot of things could fix this problem that aren’t constitutional including: Shooting uninsured people, jailing uninsured people, and kicking uninsured people out of the country. As I said, all these solutions would work and all would be equally unconstitutional like Obamacare.

One final point as the US constitution gets further trashed before my vary eyes. So many talking headds are rejoicing on how Robert’s protected the credibility of this court by not making a partisan decision. For one, he did make a partisan decsion. It was just a partisan descision in favor of the liberal minded. For two, it’s not his job to protect the credibility of the court in the eyes of anyone..including me, you, the extreme poltical left, the extreme political right, or the political middle for that matter. It’s simply his job to protect the constitution!!! And, in this job Judge Robert’s has failed and failed miserably....all so he he can be cheered and revered at a few more cocktail parties I suppose. Sure, in the short term he will be considered genious by the nattering masses but, in the eyes of history he will be viewed as a dunce.

Again, why is the country even divided on this decsion? This was one of the most intellectually vacuous decisions I’ve witnessed in my lifetime. It’s just a sad day for America all around.

“The hope that he will repeal obamacare!”

Ain’t gonna happen. He was the architect of Romney care in MA. He’s a car salesman telling you that *this* time he’ll get it right.
