In latest Romney ad, Hillary Clinton attacks Obama

In his effort to challenge President Barack Obama's attacks on his jobs record, Mitt Romney has enlisted a surprising new surrogate: Hillary Clinton.

The Romney campaign quietly launched a new 30-second television ad Friday featuring footage of Clinton campaigning against Obama during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, in which she accused Obama of lying about her record.

"Shame on you, Barack Obama," Clinton says in the footage recycled in the Romney spot.

The Romney ad uses the Clinton footage to back up a recent Washington Post Fact Checker item that said a recent Obama ad accusing Romney of outsourcing jobs overseas while he was governor of Massachusetts was "misleading, unfair and untrue."

"But that's Barack Obama," a narrator in the Romney ad declares. "He also attacked Hillary Clinton with vicious lies."

The Clinton footage comes from a campaign event held just before the Ohio primary in 2008, when Clinton attacked Obama for mailers she said mischaracterized her positions on health care reform and the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Well, it really depends on who you are. Laws are enforced selectively now and used as punitive measures against enemies.

I will have a very, very hard time voting for (swallowing bile) Romney. But I will. I just hope he doesn’t pick a similar RINO or worse yet, non-NBC for his VP.

Or - that there is a revolution at the convention. Romney is the most revolting RINO candidate I can imagine. Smarmy, slimey, a liar, no core, power hungry, liberal, and so on. Just freaking nauseating.

It’s a shame that us Conservatives in California won’t be seeing much in the way of these ads. Romney would be a fool to spend money in California.

You got me there.

I guess anything’s possible but I would call your idea that Hillary will somehow wrest the nomination from Obama the closest thing to impossible I can think of.

I hope she doesn’t because way too many people have forgotten how horrible she is and Obama will be easier to beat.

Fighting dirty is in the eye of the beholder.

Someone on one of the Sunday shows was interviewing Rick Perry who is now a strong supporter of Romney.

They challenged him about some of the things he said about Romney in the primaries and he blew it off (with a smile).

He said, ‘oh, we all said things in the primaries.’

It’s called campaigning.

When it’s against Obama, it ain’t too dirty.

Wait until Obama’s people start showing screencaps of Free Republic’s comments about Romney in their next ad.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That would be an interesting aD. The main argument/worry about Romeny is he is more like Obama then Reagan.
Don’t see how that helps Borak Oblamea?

The election is in the congress.

That is your answer. Load the House up with 20 more strict constitutionalists and they can determine the agenda. Load the senate up with 8 more, and they can determine the agenda.

Wit a week Romney as POTUS and a congress that stands their ground, things can get done.

There are about 30 in the house now that lean constitutionalist and about 5 or 6 in the senate.

Great Ad. Unlike the McCain team in ‘08, the Romney Campaign has their stuff together.

Let’s also hope that Romney runs the Bill Clinton piece where he says Obama used the race card against Hillary Clinton.

That would be AWESOME!!!

I don’t think they had to get permission from anyone to run that. Just like Obama does not have to get permission to use clips of what the other GOP candidates said about Romney during the Primary Season. You can use news clips.

In political ads, anything goes. You can’t even sue for liable or slander resulting from a political ad. Political ads pretty well have a Carte Blanche.

He did NOT have to get Hillary’s permission. Political ads have free reign. You can’t even sue a political ad for slander or defamation of character. Besides, this was a news clip and was NOT taken from a Hillary Clinton campaign ad. Don’t be so paranoid, Bro.; chill out. It’s gonna be alright.

Any decrease in turnout in a state like N. Car. or Va. makes defeating Obama in the Electoral College that more difficult. Plus they can create a shadow group to sponsor the ad without even mentioning Obama or the dems.
