A top advisor to President Barack Obama urged Congressional Democrats on Friday to "go on offense" against Republicans on the issue of taxes and argued that the Supreme Court ruling upholding the incumbent's signature health care law should be the "clear and final" word on the issue.
In a memo made public by the White House, David Plouffe accused Republicans of "trying to misrepresent" Obama's record on taxes.
"We welcome this debate on middle class taxes, and we urge you to seize this opportunity to go on offense to illustrate how the President and Democrats in Congress are standing up for the middle class," Plouffe wrote.
But White House officials plainly see the political danger in Obama being portrayed as a tax hiker. Asked about Plouffe's memo, a senior Republican congressional aide told Yahoo News: "This is amusing. As the kids say: nervous much?"

Obama is on the record over and over saying it isn’t a tax (even though anyone with half a brain knew it was). If it had been presented as a tax in the bill, it would never have passed.
But his solicitor general argued before the SCOTUS that it was indeed a tax and Congress has the power to levy taxes. A majority of justices bought the argument and tossed the steaming pile right back in Obama’s lap to defend.
Who is the public going to believe? The SCOTUS or weenies like Plouffe and Axelrod.

To deal with any lie, you must establish a line of commutations with the people that has a greater level of creditably and reach than the lyer.
Given the democratic dominance of the media commutation has always been a gigantic problem for conservatives and republicans. It is therefore easy and expedient for democrats to lie.
