Border Patrol agents in Arizona are blasting their bosses for telling them, along with all other Department of Homeland Security employees, to run and hide if they encounter an "active shooter."
It's one thing to tell civilian employees to cower under a desk if a gunman starts spraying fire in a confined area, say members of Tucson Local 2544/National Border Patrol Council, but to give armed law enforcement professionals the same advice is downright insulting. The instructions from DHS come in the form of pamphlets and a mandatory computer tutorial.
“We are now taught in an ‘Active Shooter’ course that if we encounter a shooter in a public place we are to ‘run away’ and ‘hide’" union leader Brandon Judd wrote on the website of 3,300-member union local. “If we are cornered by such a shooter we are to (only as a last resort) become ‘aggressive’ and ‘throw things’ at him or her. We are then advised to ‘call law enforcement’ and wait for their arrival (presumably, while more innocent victims are slaughtered)."

"Since September 11, 2001, DHS has reported a 41percent increase in arrests along the Texas/Mexico border of Special Interest Aliens," states the report. "From FY2001 to March 2005, 88 percent of Special Interest Alien apprehensions for both the Southwest and Northern borders occurred in Texas."
An increase of 88% from 2001 - 2005 ..... wonder what it's been since?

My son tells me in AZ, where he is a BP Agent, that OTMs are remaining steady for the last 4-yrs. Certainly a threat, for sure, but the cartels are an even greater threat as their violence is spilling over into the US.
Think they publish for general consumption the stats every 5-yrs or so, though the data is collected yearly and put into a report to congress. With the Big O’s election and Nappy Pants in charge of DHS, you can bet ANY comprehensive reporting is delayed or slow-rolled because it would go against the story that the border is “as safe as its ever been.”

Does anyone doubt that if this occurred under a GOP administration the American people would have heard this repeated every day and at every opportunity?

I can understand the angst of the Border Patrol Agents in being told to run. BUT it is an order and it is good advice.
When you start shooting you will want someone to have your bck. If you kill one of these invaders who do you think will stand behind you.
Your own Government will arrest you and place you in jail. It has happened before. No one has your back, just the opposite, they will throw you to the wolves.
My advice is to spend as much time as you can sitting in your air conditioned Government car, if you see something happening that isn’t right turn the other way, get your check and enjoy life.This is what the CIC wants you to do.
No sense endangering yourself and your career for people who do not appreciate what you are doing.
The Cartels and others must want their payback. Just collecting on services and contributions rendered.

I don’t understand the motivation for this at all.
All I can think of is that Obama wants to really punish Arizona, by letting drug cartels kill/kidnap Arizona citizens.
Another possibility is that when Obama took the oath of office for the first time, he said “I do solemnly swear, that I will execute” and then he paused for about 5 seconds.
