Issa’s secret gunwalking wiretaps revealed in Congressional Record
Washington Times ^ | June 29, 2012 | Stephen Dinan

Rep. Darrell Issa managed to push the details of a secret wiretap application from the botched “Fast and Furious” gunwalking operation into the public domain this week when he entered summaries into the Congressional Record, apparently using Congress‘ protection under the speech and debate clause to get around legal boundaries.

The summary of a March 2010 wiretap application shows that federal agents repeatedly lost track of guns they knew were being trafficked back to cartels in Mexico — a violation of Justice Department policy that should have raised red flags with top department officials who signed off on the wiretaps, said Mr. Issa, California Republican and chairman of the oversight committee that is looking into the operation.

Mr. Issa introduced the summary as part of the House’s debate Thursday before lawmakers held a historic vote to to hold Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. in contempt of Congress.

Mr. Issa contends the wiretap application contradicts Mr. Holder’s claim that nothing in there would have shown gunwalking was going on.

I read that the same way... Issa was secretly wiretaping someone regarding gunwalking.

If I was casually scanning the news headlines, I’d think Issa did something wrong....

What do we have on this bastard - there are phone calls that have been made with El Chapo himself? Just guessing but it would not surprise me in the least.

How is it with every article about this, Issa who it seems is in charge of this investigation is being stonewalled by Cummings,,and it’s Cummings who always seems to know more about the “secret” stuff than Issa..? How did that happen?

He had indicated that he would give them a couple of weeks if they did nothing, but that if they announced they would not prosecute, that he would move forward.

So, now, I expect he will move forward pretty quickly, maynbe even starting during the holiday week next week.

The sooner the better.

They will get a good judge who will demand the documents...and then it will get ratcheted up through the process to the Supreme Court...but probably still after the election.

No problem there though, it will be kept alive during the lead up to the election and the smell of corruption will continue to fill the air.

I would actually rather see it happen after Obama is defeated and out of office. Then get the files, find the smoking gun, and send Holder to prison after his buddy Obama can no longer pardon him. We may get lucky and pull Obama into the dragnet too.

I still think the CBC walkout was for more than just ‘racial solidarity’. I think Issa has the goods on a big chunk of the CBC being in on this and their performance was a hint that they will all stand together and “race” to the finish.

Anyone but me think they have a piece of the drug action in their districts? Perfect cover after having bitched for years about the CIA drug schemes.

There’s a problem Jeff.

There is a MADD doctrine between the parties preventing prosecution of prior admins. We get him now or never.

“Eric Holder and Obama are going to get WaterGated. :-)”

Perhaps we get Dick Chaney to arrange some water-boarding for these two pieces of evil $hit...make them both talk up a storm. And we call their confessions free speech, no coercion...let’s find out which one can be the most talkative, and who can do the most finger-pointing.

This program went exactly as designed, until they were caught.

Yep.

And as always with the left, the guilt is not in the doing, but in the getting caught.

Who will prosecute him?

A few things come to mind.

Holder is impeached and then prosecuted for his crime. A special prosecutor appointed by Congress. Romney's DOJ next year brings charges after Obama and Holder are get kicked out of office. Criminal charges don't end because of an election. Quo Warranto action brought against Holder.

Not to mention the automatic hate crime charge for daring to prosecute Holder.

We all know this is all bogus bunk unless you're a delusional watcher of MSLSD-NBC. I would if I could - not a pansy unlike the rest of the crowd. I guess someone else in power has got balls too - somewhere.

I 100% agree. If it was me I’d nail him to the wall and throw away the key. But with the absolute pussies in the GOP, they will go with “Well we can’t because next time one of us will go to prison”.

Believe me. I want them to do the right and legal thing. There are WAY too many dead people because of their liberal ideology (gun control). But I have no faith in their integrity.
