Why am I not surprised? You expected a rational world? We lost that world when Americans voted for Obama by their own free choosing.

The ONLY surprising thing about this decision is how many people are surprised by it. Anyone with even just one foot in reality knew it would be upheld. But us “doomers and gloomers” were ridiculed. Well, who has the last laugh now? I knew just by the tenor of the (tough) questioning during the oral arguments that obamacare would be upheld.

It’s going to be fun listening to Hannity tonight. Last night he was bragging and crowing about the “devastating” one-two punch (obamacare and contempt vote) that would finish off obama today. Well, the first punch turned out to be nothing but wishful thinking. And the second punch? Even if Holder is voted in contempt, IT WILL BE COMPLETELY IGNORED BY THE MEDIA as they brag about a bi-partisan SCOTUS giving King obama everything he demanded. Ninety percent of the people in the US will never know about it. Hannity will be spinning like a top tonight.

I don’t see how this gets repealed. We’d need 66 seats in the Senate to get there...we’re nowhere near that.

I remember well all the smarty pants who condemned the Harriet Meirs nomination! So we got Roberts instead! Way to go!

I am reading through the decision now. Here is a remarkable quote from the decision (page 6)

“Those decisions are entrusted to our Nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”

Full decision found here:

In my opinion, this decision paves the way and lays the ground work that will allow the government to mandate that every citizen must possess on their person - at all times - an identification, such as a mark, in order to conduct any type of transaction, health care, economic, or otherwise.

I don’t care what it’s called. I don’t care how it’s rationalized. The intent of a piece of legislation is irrelevant. This ruling changes the United States just like Wickard v. Filburn in 1942. Even if Obamacare is repealed in its entirety the concept of an Individual Mandate has been found constitutional. That’s the hook upon which all future mandates will be hung. This is the fulcrum upon which every legislative crowbar will pivot.

The Legislative and Executive branches made the decision that the government should own the people. That it should have the power to penalize noncompliance with its wishes.

The Judicial branch has just decided that it agrees.

Your body is now the property of the U.S. Government as surely as if you volunteered for military service. Oh, it won’t be terribly drastic at first. All the current adults won’t stand for it. But the children… they will be taught to think differently than their parents and grandparents. The system is already in place. In every school, on every popular TV show, conditioning children to the new normal will begin. First unhealthy choices will be considered wrong. Next they will be considered offensive. Finally, they will be considered criminal. The criteria for ‘unhealthy’ will be decided by carefully selected Harvard graduates. Expertize in medicine will not be required.

Do I seem sad and pessimistic? Good, then I’ve managed to convey my true feelings.

Does anybody STILL believe that voting will fix things?

Government run healthcare is unconstitutional...period!

Keying on the "taxation" that would fund it was a mistake and a cowardly and costly one at that.

And I had that POV even before the decision.

Reminds me of Clinton and all the impeachable offenses he committed. Yet all we did was concentrate on the Monica lie.

The Clinton impeachment and now this SC case. All seems like a setup. We are being lead like sheep.

Did Kagan slip something into Robert’s drink? And no I’m not joking.. Obama put her on the court not only because she’s a Marxist, but because her ‘psy ops’ capabilities are quite good.

Roberts has been compromised and violated his Constitutional oath.

All patriots and freedom lovers are absolved from any mandate of slavery.

Historic precedent says bloodshed is now inevitable.

Prepare accordingly.

Buy guns, ammo, supplies now.

Know what makes it even more disgusting? If Roberts hadn’t gone to bat for the King, ALL of obamacare would have been struck down,,,not just the mandate.
