Pelosi sees Roberts helping uphold U.S. healthcare law

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - As the U.S. Supreme Court prepared to announce a decision on President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law, one of the legislation's chief supporters predicted that it would be upheld by a 6-3 vote.

Nancy Pelosi, the House of Representatives' Democratic leader, said she can see Chief Justice John Roberts siding with Obama in an anticipated divided Supreme Court ruling on Thursday.

"I believe 6-3," Pelosi told the Reuters Washington Summit on Wednesday.

She reasoned that a decision upholding the law would require the support of Justice Anthony Kennedy, a moderate conservative who often controls the outcome of the court's rulings since the justices frequently are split in their decisions.

"If you get Kennedy, I don't think that Roberts would want it to look political" and oppose it, Pelosi said, alluding to the fact that Roberts has said he favors unanimity on his court.

Anybody know if either she or her staffers ever read it? I know they didn’t before she voted for it.

What’d she do...get help from her brother in making an offer the Chief Justice couldn’t refuse?

Just give me three swings with that mallet she walked to the Rotunda with. Just three. I promise I’ll make them all count.

So, Pelosi admits it isn't about the Constitution. No surprise!

On some level, this photo is a big reason I want to see SCOTUS send Obamacare into the wood chipper. The look on the face of this tyrannical, anti-American, demonic crone enrages me to this day.

Yeah, but did the biatch even bother to "find out what was in the bill" after her and her communist comrades shoved it down our throats?

The old loon mentioned Roberts switching his vote? This concept really really bothers me (I have a hunch he did it on the immigration case). Why are justices just switching their vote for cosmetic reasons? That is something congress does, but a court? The law is the law, so there should be none of that crap. If Roberts is not interested in upholding the constitution, maybe he should hand the CJ job to Scalia. I am also worried Roberts may be drifting slowly to the left; he seems too wishy washy.
