Fox News poll: Voters say neither candidate has plan for economy
Fox News ^ | Wednesday June 27, 2012

In a tight presidential race that both candidates say will turn on the economy, majorities of American voters believe neither has a plan to improve things.

A new Fox News poll released Wednesday shows that by a 14 percentage-point margin, more voters think Barack Obama (41 percent) has a clear plan to improve the economy than think Mitt Romney does (27 percent).  Still, a 53-percent majority says Obama doesn’t have a plan, and a 55-percent majority says Romney doesn’t.

Romney has yet to seal the deal with all his party faithful, as less than half of Republicans (49 percent) think the former Massachusetts governor has a plan to help the economy.  In contrast, nearly three quarters (72 percent) of Democrats say Obama does.

Shortly after taking office Obama said it was up to him to improve the economy, and if he didn’t do so in three years he would be a one-term president.  The new poll asks, “If voters hold Obama accountable on getting the economy on track, do you think he would deserve re-election, or not?”  Voters are split:  48 percent say Obama would deserve another term, while 47 percent disagree.

Romney has to get off his $$$ and give people a reason to vote for him instead of just saying "I'm not Obama" The problem is that he’s not the type to take principled positions and sell them.

“Voters say neither candidate has plan for economy.”

Well, we know whose plan DOESN’T work.

If Romney and a Republican-dominated Congress REPEAL Obama’s past 3 years of America-killing regulations, THAT’S A PLAN!

I disagree. Obama has a plan for the economy and it’s right on schedule.

I’m sure he can take a principled position if someone tells him which one are to his advantage politically. That said, if he is a robot conservative, and is just going through the motions, I will never say anything negative about him ever again.

I would actually agree with the poll results that neither can do anything about the economy.

It is in a spiral; contributed to by Obama, but started by Presidents going back to Woodrow Wilson.

The economy is its own engine. No man or government can control it.

The only thing any POTUS or Congress can do is to just shut up and get out of the way.

Since they refuse to do that, I guess the spiral will continue.

The plan is Socialism for either party. The GOP has always voted for a debt increase.

This should be the cornerstone of any plan.

“I pledge to cut government spending and to keep cutting it and downsizing the government until we reach a balance in our bookkeeping. There are things that are required of the Federal government under our Constitution and those things will continue to be fully funded in the smartest manner. All other non Constitutional mandates will be open for consideration of reduction or elimination”.

NONSENSE!!!!!!

Romney is the second coming of Ronald Reagan! He’ll have the economy turned around and growing 5% quarterly with -3% unemployment within six weeks!

DUMP Romney!

Delegates need only to vote ABSTAIN on the first ballot in Tampa.

Why send another RINO in to lose to Obama?

Did we learn nothing from 2008?

This is probably the single most disturbing poll I have seen.

If you consider the actions of Obama leading up to the time this poll was taken, it is incomprehensible.

I don’t know what to say except an ineffectual candidate can lose an election very easily. Very discouraging.

I realize Romney is running against every obstacle out there, including the USA press; but, he has lost ground. I am very concerned.

That’s because there isn’t a plan that the government can do to fix this mess.

I wish people would wake the hell up. Why is Europe in this mess? Why are so many countries in trouble? Is it something their governments can fix? NO

Same here. There is no political messiah that is going to come riding in on a white horse and ‘fix’ everything economically.

Well, we know whose plan DOESN’T work.

The Democrats don't. Neither do many of the mushy Indies who will pull the lever for the Kenyan again.

Romney needs to step up his game if he hopes to win this thing. He definitely isn't there yet, and if he sits back and lets Baraq and his MSM cronies define him, it could be game over before we even get out of the summer.

Romney is a wuss and we got Freepers celebrating that Romney isn’t saying anything or taking a position on hardly anything as though a ‘generic candidates’ will beat Obama. Rush yesterday said that warning flags should go up about Team Romney and they should because he truly can lose this thing if he continues to play ‘no core’ Mitt

Nope...no "political messiah ..to come fix everything economically" BUT, we do need a REDUCE GOVERNMENT TO ALMOST NOTHING MESSIAH! And, Romney is the best we have, and a start.

It won’t be a candidate that does anything. Rather, when the people of this country draw a line in the sand and take the country back by force.

And that will be the ONLY solution that will ever work. It has come to that.

These so called FOX News “polls” have become a joke. They seem to only poll the mentally challenged and/or the mentally depressed.
