Two women who got hitched days after the Marriage Equality Act in New York will file divorce papers this week
A lesbian couple is set to have the first New York gay divorce, due to file papers on Thursday (28 June).
Two women who have been in a relationship since 2008, and got hitched last summer after the Marriage Equality Act in New York was legalized, will be filing papers this week.

A couple for just over three years, Marks and Stage tied the knot in The Pop Up Chapel in Central Park.
Stage told the Atlantic Wire Marks had met another woman on the internet. Shortly afterwards, the couple broke up.
However, as New York law states marriages must have been broken down for at least six months before filing for divorce, it is only now the first gay divorces are beginning to happen.

That sounds about “right.” The last I read up on the statistics on “gay marriage” the average “committed relationship” between homosexuals lasted 1.3 years...or just a little longer than the average Americans spends on the toilet in their lifetime.

Same as that dreadful woman who fought to have abortion legal actually had the baby....There are very evil people in the World and this couple and Row and Wade are EVIL too!!!!
I suppose just like the rest of their relationship, no one gets the shaft.

We all know that in most divorces it is the man that gets shafted.I suppose they will pick the most mannish looking of the two, and drop the hammer on it.

I would have loved to have lived in a time before homosexuals hijacked the term gay. It used to be a wonderful term, now forever ruined.
Homosexual breakups are often messy, vindictive, violent. If they made a reality TV show of homosexual divorces it would be a top 10 show in no time.

You are right. The push for gay marriage is not about forming a permanent loving union to start a family. It is about shoving their homosexuality in our faces, about hijacking “straight” institutions, and about demanding acceptance.
Well I for one will never accept homosexuality. I condemn it and I always will.

Right. Always brings a snort of derision from me whenever I hear of people accepting homosexuals who are in a "long-term-committed-relationship."
A former Rector used this BS on me once with a smug look on his face until I asked him to define "long-term-committed-relationship."
I told him that his stuttering and stammering reminded me of an old Chevy Impala I had in college. "Is your floorboard rusted through as well?"
