White House A Sore Winner On Arizona Ruling
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 25 June 2012 | Editorial

The Law: If there's any doubt the Supreme Court upheld the most substantial elements of Arizona's law to enforce U.S. immigration law, take a look at the scorched-earth response from the Obama administration to punish the state.

The Supreme Court voted 8-0 Monday to uphold a key provision of Arizona's S.B. 1070 that requires state troopers to check the immigration status of people suspected of being in the U.S. illegally after they've been caught committing other crimes.

That acknowledges the reality that the unlicensed man barreling down a desert highway with 40 people sweltering in his van might just be doing more than driving too fast, and that the bearded man caught with bomb-making tools and al-Qaida literature in his car might have more than chemistry on his agenda.

Three other provisions of the Arizona law were thrown out by the court, thereby leaving illegals the "right" to solicit day jobs on public streets, the "right" to not carry the same identification they are required to carry in their home countries and the "right" to not be deported after officers suspect them of crimes here.

But after the Obama administration and its media allies crowed that the court ruling was a win, their fury over their loss on the one provision became obvious.

I think the point that everybody is missing is that this ruling resolves for once and for all that the Obama administration is solely responsible for the horrific mess we have on the border.
Not the legislature, not the border states, not the border patrol, not anything but Obama policies are what is actively allowing this poisonous pot to boil and even providing automatic weapons to the outlaws to exacerbate the situation.

He owns this problem.

I don't believe the Arizona law was written to survive the federal courts intact. The object was to put a national spotlight on illegal immigration in the border states. Obama reacted by using Al Sharpton, La Raza, the unions, and $7-an-hour “demonstrators”—all bussed in from out of state to start a race war. The locals didn't take the bait. White House minions declared a national boycott of Arizona and its goods and services. That may have backfired because the most recent polls show a majority of Americans support Arizona's immigration law even if the court doesn't.

Yeah!

That makes sense!

And how many illegals do you think will call?? The Feds may be forced to act so it's a stupid move on their part.

30% of the population is Hispanic.

They don’t have to be illegal, just someone who is complaining about being “profiled”. The local “activists” will be in the Hispanic churches, busily canvassing for complainers. Deciding what and who they’re going to sue, then lining up a few individuals to be the actual plaintiffs while the group hides in the weeds is one of the favorite activities of the professional race-baiters. Holder has now decided to engage in the same charade.

"The ruling says they can ask for ID. Where’s the Civil Rights issue in that??"

Doesn't matter. This is Obama trying to bury Arizona in complaints and investigations in reprisal for trying to defend itself against the illegal invasion by enforcing the Federal laws that Obama won't.

6 more months of Obama's cr**...

What a legacy he'll leave behind....America's first dictator. He has done absolutely "0" good for our country. All he did was pay people off and carry on his "I hate Whitey" campaign.

Where's Michelle lately??

You do realize that if Roberts didn't ‘screw the pooch’ the ruling would have reverted to the 9th circuit ruling (due to the tie) and the one win that was achieved would have been lost

after the Obamacare decision....what do you think of stealth marxist Roberts NOW???? Impeach Roberts!

Today’s ruling do not change the facts of the Arizona ruling but I do agree with getting rid of Roberts and today may very well provide the urgency to elect enough congressmen to accomplish it.
