This reminds me of two dogs in a common area barking ferociously at another dog that’s strayed into their territory, when, for no discernible reason, they turn on each other and begin a death match forgetting their common enemy.

As long as the Russians stay out of it.

And the Iranians, who are heavily involved with propping up the Shiite Syrian government, and who border Turkey to the east.

Putin's feeling stemmy these days. The thing holding him back is the U.S. President's resolve....

Oh, crap.

The Iranians don’t want to pick a fight with Turkey. That’s a sure loser.

I wouldn't mind seeing them get into a fight to the last man standing.

Hey, a guy can dream can't he?

IIRC, turkey and iran have a mutual defense treaty. Both are committed to Kurdish genocide. Would they really fight each other?

But remember Turkey is a NATO Country so ANYTHING that happens there can/WILL involve us eventually!

I feel Pootie has been planning something for the last four years. Why would a statesman of a foreign country NOT plan something to take advantage of a temporarily weak USA? Especially since the fool in the hut has tipped the balance of power to the slammists. They HAVE to respond.

Good point. Especially if Putin senses that Americans are waking up (finally) and the pendulum is about to swing the other way.

A Turkish general reported said, on being admitted to NATO, that the problem with being allied with the Americans is that you never know when they are going to turn around and stab themselves in the back.

Over to, Barack.

All the Russians could do for the Syrians is change them from a speed bump agaisnt the Turks to a a slightly higher speed bump.

Russians really don’t have any credible conventional capability to hinder or touch the Turks themselves at all, either.
