The Purpose of Fast and Furious

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: April 16, 2009. This from CNN's website: "Reviving a ban on assault weapons and more strictly enforcing existing gun laws could help tamp down drug violence that has run rampant on the US-Mexican border, President Obama said Thursday. Speaking alongside Mexican President Felipe Calderon, Obama said he has 'not backed off at all' on a campaign pledge to try to restore the ban. It was instituted under President Clinton and allowed to lapse by President George W. Bush.

'I continue to believe that we can respect and honor the Second Amendment right in our Constitution -- the rights of sportsmen and hunters and homeowners that want to keep their families safe -- to lawfully bear arms, while dealing with assault weapons that, as we know here in Mexico, are used to fuel violence,' Obama said. ... Calderon said that the link between Mexican drug violence and the US ban on 19 types of military-style semi-automatic rifles -- which lapsed in 2004 -- is clear. 'From the moment the the prohibition on the sale of assault weapons was lifted a few years ago, we have seen an increase in the power of organized crime in Mexico,' Calderon said. He said that more than 16,000 assault weapons have been seized in the crackdown on drug traffickers, with almost 9 in 10 coming from the United States."

This was Fast and Furious. They were describing it to us. April 16th, 2009, they're describing a program here that's in progress, and they're acting like they know nothing about it. "Some observers have said Obama may be slow to reintroduce the ban in Congress, where it would be sure to spark a fight at a time when his administration needs all the political clout it can muster to push its aggressive economic recovery efforts."

So, "Obama, Calderon: Assault-Gun Ban Could Curb Border Violence ... Obama said he has asked Attorney General Eric Holder to study how current gun laws are enforced and whether loopholes in some can be tightened. He said laws already on the books should restrict the flow of weapons into Mexico." A-ha. And there's the rub. There he is standing next to Calderon, and he said laws already on the books should restrict the flow of weapons. Well, then here comes Fast and Furious, with our people walking the guns across the border to Mexican drug cartels as part of a federal program. Obama had already said, "Well, yeah, existing law to handle it." But existing law didn't handle it, did it, because of Fast and Furious.

The whole point, don't forget, the whole point of Fast and Furious was to create mayhem in Mexico among drag cartels with American-made weapons easily procured so that you and I would stand up in outrage and demand tighter gun laws. It was deceitful. It was sneaky. It was going against the will of the American people. It was liberalism on parade. It's who these people are. They want tighter gun laws. Folks, I want to make this as simple as I can. They created crimes. There's no other way to characterize this. They created, they manufactured crime. They enabled crimes. They saw to it that American guns ended up in Mexican drug cartel hands. And, of course, those people get the guns, they use them. When, in fact, it probably was difficult for the drug cartels to get the guns. It probably was not easy for the drug cartels to get the guns. Certainly not walking into gun stores in Phoenix and elsewhere, then crossing the border.

So they set that up. They created crimes. It would be no different than if they wanted to ban airplanes, to engineer a bunch of crashes. I'm trying to think of a smart analogy to give you. If this bunch wanted all airplanes grounded, sabotage a bunch of so they crash, and the people the country demand that all airplanes be grounded. They wanted these guns that were used in these crimes to come from America. They made it easy for the drug cartels to get American guns. Here's the Washington Post story. The headline of this: "For Obama, Calderon, a Meeting of Minds." It's from 2009 and the subhead for this story could be: "The reasons for Fast and Furious."

"On his first presidential visit to Mexico, Obama praised Calderon for taking on the drug cartels, whose potent arsenals and economic power are threatening the integrity of the Mexican state. Obama announced that he will push the US Senate to ratify an inter-American arms-trafficking treaty. But Obama indicated that while he favors reinstating the U.S. ban on assault weapons ... the move would face too much political opposition to happen soon." So he couldn't do a ban. This is the reason for Fast and Furious. Politically, a ban on assault weapons wouldn't work. But he still wanted a ban.

So how to do it? Well, you put the weapons you want to ban in the hands of the bad guys and turn 'em loose. It's all this is. And now the documents that document this or prove it, Darrell Issa's committee wants them, and Obama has asserted executive privilege to prevent the Congress from seeing them. It's really no more complicated than that. Obama wants an assault weapons ban, he can't politically get it because it's not popular, so he tries to effect it anyway. It's kind of like if you're NBC and you want to illustrate that certain trucks are dangerous. You put an explosive in a gas tank, and then you turn on the truck and remotely drive it down the road. Then you trigger the explosive remotely, the truck blows up, and you claim the truck's dangerous. Then you get the truck off the road. But it's only dangerous 'cause you at NBC blew it up. NBC did that for a TV show. They blew up a truck on purpose and made the viewer think it was spontaneous combustion. NBC did it.

It took awhile for Rush to frame F&F this way.. He wouldn’t commit early on but alas he finally explains it perfectly.

...and it makes perfect sense that the regime would want to ban the types of weapons that pose the greatest threat to their brown shirts when the SHTF.

Yep, the setup they set us up for went wrong for them.

Obama announced that he will push the US Senate to ratify an inter-American arms-trafficking treaty.

"Inter-American" my butt. Obama knew very well that a UN treaty was already being drafted. The principal goal was to deball the Second Amendment and disarm Americans. The second goal was to arm Los Zetas, a hostile, violent, and criminal paramilitary with weapons stocked inside the United States.

Hmmmm. Compare this from April, 2009, with this from March, 2009. I think the administration just made a major, significant, mistake in political gamesmanship.

Meanwhile, they destroy the evidence. Maybe the docs have already been destroyed and that is why Hold-up is stonewalling.

1. Undermine the 2nd Amendment. Blame the private sector and gun dealers for illicit arms trade.

2. Exacerbate the illegal immigration problem in the United States, thereby weakening and destabilizing both countries.

3. Protect and enhance the drug trade.

4. Create war in Mexico.

If the republicans find their cajones, there could be major jail time for a lot of people. Impeachment for sure!

The purpose of F&F was to manufacture a fake crisis and then impose gun control as a result of the manufactured crisis.

Period.

The purpose of F&F was to manufacture a fake crisis and then impose gun control ...

Yep. It was that simple.

I remember all of the alphabet networks during that time running stories about how "90%" of the guns used by the Mexican drug cartels came from purchases from US gun shops; they filmed their own purchases to show how easy it was, blah, blah.

Those stories don't write themselves, particularly with how lazy most "journalists" are. I am sure the stories were planned in the WH, went to the DOJ, and then the scripts were handed to the MSM, who dutifully carried out their instructions.

The goal was to take away US citizen gun rights, but the reason was because Obama needs a disarmed America to carry out his plans to institute a Chavez-style dictatorship. He was looking years into the future when he came up with this idea.

Here is a transcription of the link you posted [caps are mine, as relating to Obama]:

Gibbs: “...want to discuss an ISSUE THAT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO THE PRESIDENT this morning. The steps [that] we are taking on both sides of the border, working with our Mexican partners to support the Mexican government's campaign against the violent cartels and to reduce contraband in both directions across the border. Today the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Janet Napolitano, Deputy Secretary of State Jim Steinberg and U.S. Deputy Attorney General David Ogden will lay out the ADMINISTRATION'S COMPREHENSIVE RESPONSE to the situation along the border with Mexico, and we'll take a few questions.”

David Ogden: “UNDER THE PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP, together with the State Department and Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice stands ready to take the fight to the Mexican drug cartels. THE PRESIDENT HAS DIRECTED US to take action against these cartels, and Attorney General Holder and I are taking several new and aggressive steps as part of the ADMINISTRATION'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. Those steps include the following: Department of Justice's drug enforcement administration which already has the largest US drug enforcement presence in Mexico, with eleven offices in that country, is placing sixteen new DEA positions in southwest border field pos...uh...field operations, specifically to target Mexican trafficing and associated violence. DOJ’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is increasing its efforts by adding 37 new employees in three new offices, using ten million dollars in Recovery act funds, and re-deploying 100 personnel to the southwest border in the next 45 days to fortify ITS PROJECT GUNRUNNER which is aimed at disrupting trafficing between the United States and Mexico. ATF is doubling its presence in Mexico..uh..itself..uh..from five to nine personnel working with the Mexicans specifically to facilitate GUN TRACING..uh..activity which targets..ah..the illegal weapons...ah...and their sources in the United States.”

(question - next to impossible to understand, because of the reporter's thick accent - so only snatches of what he asked): “...the question basically...did you expect...to clamp down on the trafficing...going into Mexico...problem is you know all these guns...’choo expect...the people who sell these arms...part of the problem...You can be successful...you can do anytink...source of these legal business...how you expect to make impact on these things?”

Napolitano: “Several things. One is, first of all you've got to interdict the arms - you've got to stop them from going into Mexico. Now that's why we're increasing the southbound inspections, that's why we're moving the technology to the border, to help with screening..ah..going into the border..uh, uh...we're coordinating with Mexico because they can do more uh by way of southbound screening..uh..on their side of the border. Uh...but then the Department of Justice moving...uh...their agents..uh..down there..uh..as David said, in increasing TRACING - that will help us identify who are..who, who..is putting those arms..ah...into the arms...th...those guns..uh, uh..into the arms of the trafficers..uh..moving south..uh..and out of that, there..uh..can reasonably be seen more prosecution of actual arms dealers who are intentionally and knowingly..uh..putting arms into the hands of the smugglers..uh..so that is part of the reason why the Department of Justice is sucj an essential part of this initiative on Mexico.”

This was a March 2009 presser. Big Sis’ stammering, wandering answer seems to be a description of what many of us have suspected: Fast & Furious was devised to use US gun dealers as a means to flood the Mexican market with guns - and to then launch an attack the 2nd Amendment. Both Ogden and Napolitano exhibited many nervous “uh”s and “ah”s when mentioning gunrunning, tracing, and illegal weapons/sources/dealers. Freud, poking at their tongues!

This sure does seem to implicate old Barry and his boy Holder from very early on, doesn't it? Ahhhh...to be a fly on the Oval office wall, or an eavesdropper on the One’s Blackberry. Smoke and fire!
