Listeners to WSYB Rutland VT react to the dropping of Rush Limbaugh

(WSYB ("We Serve You Best") AM 1380 in Rutland VT dropped Rush Limbaugh. Here are some listener comments...there was a "drop Rush on WSYB" petition drive but I don't know if that was the reason Rush was pulled (in favor of Jim Rome). It could have been a cost factor. Anyway:

--No more Rush? No reason to listen. Seems the GM politics stated clearly in the Rutland Herald article a few months ago trump station viability. But what the heck. The liberal management will just go elsewhere to make a living leaving local employees out of work. It is what flatlanders do. Bu-bye to mediocrity in radio. The internet wins again.

--What MORON dropped "Rush" for teen age brain "Jim Rome"?! I'm insulted!

--There is a reason AM radio is (was) still relevant. Without Rush there would be no WSYB, no Tim Philbin, no Dennis Miller. Hits from the 50's and Red Sox baseball..... agree or disagree with Rush- you just slaughtered your cash cow.

--Wow 3 hours of Jim Rome sports. This will help a lot of people make up their mind on who to vote for in next general election. No fair and balanced news in rutland anymore. Guess the Liberal biased management cannot stand hearing the truth about their agenda for america and the freedom loving people of our country. I would rather listen to political debate fair and balanced than 3 hours of dead head sports. the GMs ears must burn when she hears Rush. The truth must irritated the heck out of her. bye bye WSYB.

--Apparently nobody, that's the reason the radio station pulled it off the air Richard. This showed is listened to by the millions and by probably 1000+ stations. I don't think WSYB has a listener/show problem, sounds like they have a sales problem.

Instead of pulling the show, maybe they should target people who are willing to advertise to keep it on the radio. Instead, they only take calls off the air and hide behind the so-called reason of lack of paid sponsors. It doesn't appear the station I listen to Rush on now has a sponsor problem?

Ah, Brattleboro... the town that put out an arrest warrant on President Bush and VP Cheney. If Airhead America survives in any venue, it will there.

That’s quite a moonbat haven up there in VT, no?

Ah yes, the LOONEY LEFT in Brattleboro. They are all just a bunch of curtain wearing wing nut hippies...They know more about crystals and alfalfa than they do about political matters.

"Wow 3 hours of Jim Rome sports. This will help a lot of people make up their mind[s] on who to vote for in next general election."

Discussing sports is far more important than Rush Limbaugh.

Think about how vital it is to the nation to discuss how some football, baseball or basketball player caught a ball, threw a ball, or scored some points. These things need to understood thoroughly by continually talking about them or showing a video of these tremendous feats of athleticism.

Don't worry about Obama and what he's doing as President. Americans are too stupid understand the deep mystical actions of Obama and his Democrats. Just keep listening to sports shows. That's more vital to your future and welfare. Oh, and Tiger Woods hit a golf ball yesterday. And Tiger played in the US Open on Sunday. And Tiger straightened his swing by 2 millimeters so now the golf ball travels 5 yards further. And Tiger is wearing his red golf shirt again. And Kim Kardashian is wearing ..... well you understand America.

Air America flopped in Burlington (it was at 1070 or 1390 AM at various times) though I guess it does well in Brattleboro (1490; Bill Press, Steph. Miller, Thom Hartmann etc)—or at least it’s still on there

Air America died in 2010. Some of their previous host may continue on with a similar show, but I don't think it is Air America.

“Wow 3 hours of Jim Rome sports.”
I was on an IT contract for the State. My ‘cube mate’ was a State employee. He had one of those 3 hour sports programs playing on his radio 5 days a week. Drove me temporarily insane. Could not complain since I was on a lucrative contract.

I haven’t listened to KSFO since they dropped Rush, I expect there are lots of people in the WSYB broadcast area who will make similar personal decisions.

This is insanity.

Connecticut is bad, but you couldn't pay me to live in The People's Uber-Socialist Republik of Vermont...

I used to vacation in Vermont decades ago; it was nice before the invasion of southern VT by NYers. Now there are a lot of libs there, but I think they still don’t allow black people in VT yet.

They’re going to have to bend on that one, if they want the other 49 states to continue subsidizing their whole state as a giant historical park.

Names! We need names! WHO made the decision to drop Rush? The station manager? Who? Don’t complain, get personal.
