Mitt Romney's in it to win it
American Thinker ^ | 6/19/2012 | Ebben Raves

Mitt Romney will beat President Obama in this fall's election, most likely by a substantial margin. There. I said it. I may have a plate full of hat in my future, but I doubt it.

Pundits will give you the usual reasons for a Romney victory, but it all boils down to two things: first, Romney took the time to build an organization and second, and most important, he wants to win. Tea Party patriots and constitutional conservatives would be smart to learn a lesson from this.

While many conservatives were swooning over the latest firebrand candidate to carry their cause, Romney was already running out the clock before the game even started. Since before the 2008 election, he has been steadily building a campaign Team, networking, collecting endorsements and raising money. He knew how the system worked and used it to his advantage. The Tea Party movement has only been in existence since 2009, and then made the mistake of not coalescing behind a single candidate early enough in the race to counter Romney. We swung for the fences and struck out. Team Romney took walks, stole bases, hit singles and scored runs. The lesson that needs to be taken from this is that the Tea Party must start building their bench right now in order to have one of their own win the presidency. Although there are some admired personalities, none of them possessed what it took to beat Romney.

Amazing ad put out by the Roman Catholic Church. The issues are laid out plainly and succinctly. I know Obama won the Catholic vote in ‘08 (how in the world???) but I firmly believe he’ll lose that voting bloc overwhelmingly this time around.

Hang tight patriots, November is coming.

“Mitt Romney will beat President Obama in this fall’s election, most likely by a substantial margin.”

I’ve said this now for a month. I think this is the truth.

” - - - we need bummer out now.”

Thanks for making my point: At best, Primary Winner Obamalite in June is a coin-flip away from beating pathetic Obama in November.

Improve the odds by DUMPING Romney for a real Republican and win the next TWO elections.

...the only votes Obama will get will be those of his people and the sympathy vote.

That's what he got in '08 to become POTUS.

I don't fully agree with everything Mr. Raves states but overall, I think he gets it. It's no secret that Mitt Romney is not a conservative or the 'TEA party candidate'. However, I know all conservatives agree that Barack Obama simply must be removed from power and Mitt Romney and the GOP are the only realistic vehicle for accomplishing that goal. Fortunately, Romney is well organized and financed and yes, I believe that, unlike John McCain, Romney wants to be president, not simply be the GOP nominee, run a weak campaign and basically cede the election in October by praising Obama.

No, Romney won't govern as a hardcore conservative but his election will be a start to moving America back to fiscal sanity and stop the dangerous leftward drift. A conservative congress will be a huge help but Republican voters will have to start holding their Republican senators and Representatives to account and not allow them to revert to 'business as usual' (big government spending) once sent to Washington. Same with Romney. He'll have to be opposed if he starts acting like he's Bush and tries to expand government.

America doesn't need another 'compassionate conservative' but a president that respects conservative principles, the wishes of the people who elected him (for fiscal responsibility in government) and the constitutional principles that are the bedrock of this country and that have been sorely neglected by both parties in recent times. I believe Mitt Romney, for all his alleged faults and despite the sneering and grumbling from those who apparently keep hoping Ronald Reagan will be resurrected and run again, can be that president.

His strength is the fact that Obama is so pathetic.

Romney is the lesser pathetic and we need to get behind the lesser pathetic one....

“......the mistake of not coalescing behind a single candidate early enough in the race to counter Romney.”

THAT is the only statement in the article that I agree with.

Romney will not win the race without the real conservative votes and so far, it doesn’t look like he’s going to get them.

If Romney becomes the president, it will be as a result of Obama beating himself...

Romney:

“I’m not 0bama!”

That’s enough for 2012.

Republicans wont vote a new candidate at the last minute. Wishful thinking. He needs to pick a conservate vp and we all hold on. That gives us 8, if Romney can stay off the golf course. It isn’t just the economy. All hell is brewing overseas. I don’t want Obama anywhere near it. Tswhtf soon.

Projections and forecasts like this are predicated on the expectation of a somewhat fair election.

Haven’t most of us learned by now that there is no such thing at the presidential level?

If Romney is going to win, he will have to build up a HUGE lead among legitimate voters to offset the tremendous amount of fraud that always boosts the democrat candidate.

The federal government is still funneling money to the labor unions and the other people who bring us the ACORN style vote fraud.

The Justice Department is still fighting honest people who are trying to clean up the voter rolls and reduce the number of dead people and illegals who vote.

Labor Unions and other groups are still running busloads of fraudulent voters from one precinct to another.

But he also carried the “stupid independent” vote in the center...and that, plus a miserable performance by McCain, pushed him over the top.

That’s enough for 2012.

Obama won the 2008 election and was awarded a Nobel Peace Medal for not being George Bush.

Maybe Romney can win the 2012 election and be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for not being Barack Obama.

Team Romney bought the pennant and played in front of GOP-E umpires.

You know, I think we need someone who can cheat, lie, steal and deceive as good as obama. We need someone with a strong cold heart who can overlook 50 million aborted babies (in fact he was brave and strong enough to enact more of it in his state) He put abortifacients in his healthcare bill and no one complained until obama did it. He did something obama never did; he forced the Catholic Church to close adoption services in MA because they would not allow gays to adopt. Catholic Charties started doing that in 1903 and Romney shut down that racket after 109 years. He was able to stand up to those pesky parents who wanted to opt out their 5 yr olds from brainwashing and indoctrination into the gay lifestyle. He is able say one thing and do something else and blame it on others.

We need someone who knows politics well enough to burn Sarah and HER FAMILY in 2008, so Obama could win the election. After all, it’s all about him and if he can’t win, no republican can win, and he hypnotized many people to forget and forgive him. In fact they act like it never happened. Obama should have thanked him for doing his dirty work; maybe he did. He’s so clever he can to enact gay marriage and blame it on the judge.

One thing that will really help him beat Obama (after fairly and squarely winning the primary) is having the establishment behind him. They chose him before the first primary and we ALL want what the eletist want, right? Because of him, they were able to make lots of back room deals with k street lobbiest and promise our money away.

He got gun owners to back him, even when he backed the brady bill and banned some guns. Most of all, he’s convinced people who said they are pro life, pro family, for smaller government, against raising taxes, against cap and trade, against global warming, against tarp......he convinced them he is conservative. In fact he is seriously conservative.

Oh and I almost forgot. Those people who are angry about obamcare, gave him a pass on creating romneycare. Facts don’t matter, only the perception that romney and the gop want you to see. Maybe it’s because he’s a god and can control people’s thoughts. Wow. IF he wins, he will be able to be all things to all people. He’s kinda like Houdini. What a guy. Maybe he can win without the base. NOT.

I think the media are becoming displeased with obama, and critical of his shortcomings, out of fear. They fear that Hussein the Usurper will blow it big time, and they will all look like the mendacious feather merchants they really are.

I don't believe Romney is saying anything about VP. It is all pure media masturbation. I agree, and I think Romney shows it, that as long as obama is stumbling and fumbling around, the best thing is to go about your own campaign and let the media make things worse for the Usurper by trying to defend him.
