Election '12: In his most brazen act of pandering to date, President Obama has dangled de facto amnesty to 800,000 illegal immigrants in a shameless bid to win Latino votes. This is pure banana-republic electoral politics.
There's zero doubt Obama's Friday order to hand work permits to hundreds of thousands of illegals who claim they were brought here as children is merely an embattled and unpopular president's bid to gain an electoral edge.
Politics trump all other factors that a responsible president would consider, such as the wisdom of dumping nearly a million new job seekers onto the market to compete for jobs with America's 26 million unemployed at a time of sky-high unemployment.
[snip] Obama has told his supporters in the past that he couldn't take such a brazen step, knowing that its legality and clear usurpation of congressional authority would be questioned.
[snip This is no different from banana-republic politicos buying votes for bags of beans. Obama's gambit is in fact straight from Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, who, facing a tight recall referendum in 2004, handed citizenship to 2 million illegal immigrants in Venezuela to secure votes, and with Jimmy Carter's help, won.
It's also been done in that other banana-republic, California, where in 2003, Democratic Gov. Gray Davis offered drivers licenses to millions of illegals to secure Latino votes for his own recall referendum. It maddened California's voters and Davis was booted. ]

If this doesn’t outrage 800,000 “legal” youths between 16 and 30, then the “kids” really are as stupid as the seem. They vote FOR this Obamanation, let’s see if they’re learned enough of a reason to vote against it now. Obama cares more about illegals than legals? Yep, here is the proof.
I don’t think “pandering” is an appropriate euphemism for high treason.
One of our many problems is that our legals are sympathetic to the illegals.
Hopefully the voters will apply some critical thinking and understand this to be a blatant act pandering, just like they saw right through the vapid "Hope and Change" BS in 2008....
Oh, wait...

Exactly. Anschluess, anyone?
Romney still 10x better than Obama....now go back to the blissful sleep
They employ the illegal aliens and show them the ropes on how to scam the system. These days we have millions of poor legal immigrants as well as the poor illegals. They talk to each other about stolen SS numbers and legal IDs etc
Yes millions of legal immigrants are anti-illegal immigration but a lot more enable illegals here, house them, married to them, or just shack up with them, work with them and employ them as slave labor in their taco restaurants, Chinese buffets etc
That should be Romney’s immigration policy, right there. Bulletproof if he had the guts.
The GOP deserves as much blame for our problems with illegal immigration over the years. I thought after 9-11, Bush would at the very least secure the borders. Even Reagan granted amnesty.
Big business loves cheap labor and as long as big business continues to bribe the GOP not much will be done.
He should state since the president of Mexico and many Mexicans living illegally within the borders of the US are so against our current and existing immigration laws, then we propose to enact immigration IDENTICAL to that of Mexico in the pursuit of FAIRNESS.
