Obama’s policy strategy: Ignore laws
Politico ^ | 16 Jun 2012 | STEVE FRIESS

President Obama returned Friday to a trusted tactic — satisfying his political allies by not doing something.

Conservatives were angry when Janet Napolitano announced the administration would stop deporting certain undocumented immigrants but they should have seen it coming. On issue after issue – gay rights, drug enforcement, Internet gambling, school achievement standards – the administration has chosen to achieve its goals by a method best described as passive-aggressive.

Rather than pushing new laws through a divided Congress to enact his agenda, Obama is relying on federal agencies to ignore, or at least not defend, laws that some of his important supporters –like Hispanic voters and the gay community — don’t like.

“If the president says we’re not going to enforce the law, there’s really nothing anyone can do about it,” University of Pennsylvania constitutional law professor Kermit Roosevelt said. “It’s clearly a political calculation.”

A White House official said the strategy is the result of a stalemate in Washington.

“We we work to achieve our policy goals in the most effective and appropriate way possible,” the official said. “Often times Congress has blocked efforts (ie [No Child Left Behind] and DREAM) and we look to pursue other appropriate means of achieving our policy goals. Sometimes this makes for less than ideal policy situations - such as the action we took on immigration - but the president isn’t going to be stonewalled by politics, he will pursue whatever means available to do business on behalf of American people.”

For Obama – and future presidents should Washington remain polarized to the point of perpetual inaction —it may be the only way to fulfill a range of campaign promises.

As of Friday, the federal government won’t deport undocumented immigrants under age 30 who came to the United States as children.

When 0bama said, “it is the right thing to do for the American people,” he meant everyone OUTSIDE the US but in any other N or S AMERICAN countries.

I can see November from my toothbrush.

The 0bama Administration is about Lawlessness and Anarchy.

He needs to be called on it.

What is a Writ of Mandamus?

Excerpt from article:

A writ of mandamus is a court order which compels someone to execute a duty which he or she is legally compelled to complete. This type of writ can also be used to order a lower court to complete a duty which is assigned by law. The writ of mandamus is rarely used, because it must be demonstrated that there is no other remedy available and that someone is suffering an injustice as a result of the failure to complete a legally required duty. It can also be very disruptive and for that reason judges are reluctant to grant such writs unless they are truly necessary.

“it is the right thing to do for the American people,”

Replacing Obama with another anti-gun, pro government healthcare liberal is not the right thing for the American people, either.

At this point, replacing Obama with any creature drawing breath is the right thing to do.

Obama’s policy strategy: Ignore laws

YA THINK??!!??

I thought I had gone mad, and nobody else noticed. Sort of like "K" from Kafka's The Castle.

Now that I am persuaded that I have not gone mad, what can be done about it?

Do I need to re-read the entire set of the Federalist Papers to know if this scenario even occured to the founding fathers?
I know some presidents have ignored the Supreme Court; I know some Congresses have ignored some presidents. But I never recall a president rendering or attempting to render Congress irrelevant.

We need to hear from more actual and real Constitutional Scholars, but not any self-appointed affirmative action ones. Unfortunately, there a no living ex-Supreme Court Justices that I am aware of.

The central issue, more important than anything else, now that we know that a silent coup is in progress...

What can be done about it? How soon? Who can lead? The Potempkin Congress has already demonstrated its complicity or helplessness; the loyal opposition is enjoying their perks and doing nothing else; impotence rules.

What's left?

Who enforces a Writ of Mandamus against Caesar?

"Disruptive" doesn't begin to describe it!

Ignoring the law - isn’t that synomymous with BREAKING the law?

And wasn’t Richard Nixon forced to resign for a much less serious breach of the law than releasing highly classified national secrets, or of just ordering the implementation of a policy that was nowhere supported by force of law, or by selective refusal to enforce law already on the books that has the specific responsibility for keeping the civil order?

This isn’t about a traffic ticket, or simply insulting an officer of the law - this is outright DEFIANCE of clearly written and existing law that has serious consequences.

There are three chances of impeaching Barack Hussein, fat, slim and none. And not one of them has any possibility of removing him from office.

Even if the House COULD be persuaded to take up articles of impeachment, the Senate would never act.

“Stroke of the pen, law of the land - cool”, was once famously remarked, but this isn’t even a stroke of the pen.

Just an oral demand, with zip for authority.

He is following the process set down by the national socialist party in Germany to its tee.

IF, this congress does not draw the line and threaten to call out forces to stop this, then we will become the new NAZI Germany.

It is now left up to the American people. The legal system has been taken control of by the new national socialists. They are now moving to complete the plan.

There, fixed it for him.

None of his actions has surprised me one bit, however it has upset me quite a bit. The blind eye of the LSM is even more irritating and completely un-American. Just imagine if this were a republican president...

So we should just roll over and accept totalitarianism?
Speak for yourself.

If action is not taken now, it is no longer a "slippery slope;" We will be staring into the abyss.

What if congress received 25,000,000 demands to impeach?

Possible? I actually think so. There must be at least twice that many working (non union), net taxpaying outraged American citizens left!

With the exception of my 6th great grandfather, John Carpenter (a neighbor, close associate, friend and revolutionary brother in arms of one George Washington) in my paternal grandmother Robinson’s family, my other English and German ancestors waited in sometimes years long lines, got on a hot, crowded, rickety ship, crossed the Atlantic and arrived at Ellis Island.

My wife’s English and Irish ancestors also waited in sometimes years long lines, got on a hot, crowded, rickety ship, crossed the Atlantic and arrived at Ellis Island.

There they were deloused, given a cursory medical exam, interrogated, their immigration papers checked and, with just what they were able to carry, took the ferry to the mainland to begin their lives as “Americans.” Those who did not have a complete grasp of English soon undertook formal and informal of the native language and the rest, as they say, is history.

That’s how it USED TO BE DONE.

The 14th Amendment, INTENDED by the drafters to ONLY grant citizenship to emancipated slaves by overturning the Dred Scott decision, has been tortured beyond recognition by the radical left to also include so-called “anchor babies” born to Latinas who stroll across the border to download junior HERE to bypass all the normal immigration processes described above. As an intern in a San Diego ER, my late niece caught many of those babies as part of her OB/GYN training.

By executive fiat, today Obama just took the first step to COMPLETELY open our borders (trust me, it is the first step only!) His action makes FOOLS of those who, like our great-great grandparents, played by the rules. It also makes fools of those waiting in those overseas lines to come here THE RIGHT WAY!!!

A wag declared that a nation without borders is NOT A NATION!!

A Latino “immigration lawyer” on FNN this morning said that if Congress doesn’t like it, they can change the law. He went on to say “THEY DON’T HAVE THE GUTS.” Sadly, he’s right. But if these clowns on Jenkins’ Hill think those latinos (legal and illegal) are going to vote for the GOP, they should be careful to not let their minds wander: They’re too small to be out alone.

Not that it would do any good, I called my congresscritters’ (202-224-3121) this morning to ask when they plan to offer Articles of Impeachment for this, the Law of the Seas Treaty, the activities of Holder, et al, the waste of taxpayer bucks on the green jobs idiocy, etc., etc. I’ll spare you the entire list as it runs to a few hundred pages. If impeachment is not their plan, I asked them to have the decency to RESIGN as the first branch of this government is clearly no longer needed and Obama could use the bucks saved to help buy the coming “election” or perhaps resume his taxpayer funded World Tour.

Bottom line? If you are STILL unconvinced that this guy is a clear and present danger to YOUR way of life, you probably live in a refrigerator crate behind a vacant warehouse. And if that is NOT your current living condition, re-elect this guy and it shortly will be.

I did not say that Barack Hussein Obama should not be impeached, just that it is not a practical possibility to be entertained.

Either Barack Hussein Obama shall be in office in January, 2013, or he shall not. By getting a defined majority of voters to give a “no-confidence” vote in November, he may be removed from office. But to express that “no-confidence”, means necessarily giving a vote in FAVOR of Mitt Romney. There is no possible third party that could conceivably change the choice between Romney and Obama that America faces.

Many people do not like Romney on principle, but what is the alternative? Sure, the lesser of two evils, but the lesser of two evils is still, by definition, evil. Is there any such thing as unmitigated, unalloyed, universal GOOD that is available to mortal men? We are faced only with the choice of greater or less, and given that less evil is as close to “good” as we can get, grab at whatever straw floats by in the stream.

I wanted Michelle Bachmann. I wanted Herman Cain, I even switched to Rick Santorum. But all those drifted too far back to even be possibilities. By elimination, Mitt Romney is left, and while I had strong reservations that he would not carry the fight to Obama, he has been making the case for at least some positive reason to support him (primarily making Obamacare dead letter by executive order his first day in office), and by his performance on the stump - simple message, given with assurance, and not losing his cool before the press.

The same cannot be said of Obama. His message remains convoluted, he seems to be sometimes lost up there on the podium, and his press relations are definitely getting a little frayed. And even Bill Clinton seems to give Obama only faint praise, long regarded as a damning tactic.

Convention surprise - Obama steps aside for Herself, the Cold and Joyless, because the numbers are definitely crumbling for Obama, and the shock value would be to trigger and motivate the uncertain among the Democrat and left-leaning faithful.

If we have ever faced certain death, why, then, we wouldn’t survive, now would we.

As of Friday, the federal government won’t deport undocumented immigrants under age 30 who came to the United States as children. It is a temporary, de facto implementation of a part of the stalled DREAM Act.

The result: a loud message to Hispanic voters to remember Obama in November.

Come November this will be a wash. IMHO, there will be loads of TV ads in battleground states about the hundreds of Mexicans killed by firearms from Operation Fast and Furious.
