Heck, we all knew this was coming once the *soda ban* was imposed. It was just a matter of time until the socialist "citizen rulers" came out in full-force, and here they are. You got what/whom you voted for, New Yorkers! Welcome to Hell! The floodgates are wide open!

"There are people who strictly deprive themselves of each and every eatable, drinkable and smokeable which has in any way acquired a shady reputation. They pay this price for health. And health is all they get out of it. How strange it is. It is like paying out your whole fortune for a cow that has gone dry."

Put up the 30-foot walls and let “A Number 1” take charge.
Stick a fork in NYC.

Yet more confirmation of my opinion that the primary function of government at all levels these days is to suck all the joy out of life.

Do they have plans for installing videocameras in homes to make sure nobody eats popcorn or drinks a milkshake? They’d better. It’s possible that somebody might smoke a cigarette—or worse!

I think they just need to nationalize restaraunts and let Nanny Bloomberg set the menu for each one. That will solve all problems.

Might as well ban movies!
Libtards=morons!
There will soon be a huge black market in these items and
the tax revenues won’t be paid and then they’ll raise taxes
some more.

Medical studies clearly indicate that individuals who remain sexually active late in life live longer. Since the government is so concerned about my health, I demand free Viagra.

Wow!! NYC will be the healthiest city in the whole universe! People will live to see 150! People will jog cross town to work and not even break a sweat! Cabs will be put of business because no one will use them! Dentists will be rendered useless with virtually no sugar allowed in the city! Everyone will be perfect looking! IT IS UTOPIA!!!

I am so disgusted with day old popcorn and watered down drinks at WAY too high prices at the moviehouse.
I bring in my own bottled water and snacks from now on.
Our local theater has all but stopped selling tickets out front, you are forced to buy them at the refreshment counter, whats is next, are they going to start searching people for hidden snacks brought in from outside?
After many years of an aging old theater we were grateful for a modern one with Real 3D, but I refuse to buy their snacks anymore.

Bloomberg should open his own line of ‘alternative’ food products. Bloomberg Soda, Bloomberg Popcorn, Bloomberg Milk Shakes... All would of course meet his strict standards of proper size and caloric content.

There is no question that we are a nation of fat and unhealthy people and a lot of problems come with that. It is stunning how many more porkers you see wallowing around today compared to when I was a child decades ago. Our genes haven’t changed so lifestyle has to be the reason. There is no question that we are less active and that we eat much bigger portions. Therefore i’m all for people cutting down.
The problem is that people themselves should be responsable for making smart choices and the nanny state shouldn’t be responsable for making sure people do not do stupid things. Being truly free means the freedom to make dumb choices like eating a big mac, a large order of fries, and drinking a 32 ounce soda on a regular basis, getting drunk, or smoking weed. I’d hate to live in a society where government pushed everyone onto the straight and narrow path and the fewer ways government tells me to live my life the better. And for the record I haven’t been drunk in years, have never smoked anything, and avoid fast food.
