After working there in the 70s & 80s, I have zero sympathy for NYCers. One word of advice: LEAVE NOW! Total hell is just around the corner.
Of course, what they really don't like is butter and salt, and they see popcorn as a vehicle for butter and salt. But if you go down that road, you can ban anything at all, because the harmless thing (which must be banned!) can almost always be associated with something else (which we already know is evil! evil! evil!)
I want a popcorn I can sit in.
Then I don’t have to hold it.
The popping oil is another big problem. They’re banning the coconut oil, which is what makes popcorn smell so good in the theaters, and allows you to reheat it a week later and retain the butter and salt flavor. It doesn’t leach-out of the popped kernels.
Chris Plante (WMAL) had it on a segment during his Wed, June 13th radio show replay, yesterday:
my pre-written response to all things Bloomberg:
Bloomers is a Crony-capitalist, nebbish, poor little rich boy, self hating jew, tiny buttwipe of a man...the only reason he is probably not a fag (the jury is still out) is that he has the greatest aphrodisiac of all time, billions of dollars....he decries the 2nd amendment, but whines about how the enemys first amendment rights to worship are being usurped....even though Islam is NOT a religion but a murder cult.....and dont get me started on salt, transfats, cigarettes and sugar

Aanyone know where I can score some popcorn..?
Ban chairs and sofas!
Hetero sex that is - can't have any restrictions on homosexuality, dontchaknow.
Happiness? A good cigar, a good meal, a good cigar and a good woman - or a bad woman; it depends on how much happiness you can handle.
George F. Burns quote
.....for me popcorn is right up there with with a good cigar.
Prohibition never works. Just looks at the 1920’s for an example. Oh wait...we don’t teach history anymore do we.
With all the foods the government has told us were bad for us...then gave us alternatives that ended up being worse for us...why the heck are we letting them get away with this? This is the tip of the iceburg stuff here folks.
They will take the mile to control the food supply completely. Think about what’s already “banned” in NYC as far as food goes. New Yorker’s can’t even make food donations to the homeless anymore.
There is so much more going on here than meets the eye!
We already have the thought police and speech police.
Now we have the refrigerator police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too many overpaid over benefitted “ public servant” trying to justify their existence.
Wait until they “need” armed Swat Teams to enforce their silliness.
There needs to be a popcorn revolt. They need 100 dump trucks filled with popcorn dumped on the steps of city hall!
Don’t these morons realize that by limiting the size of “sugary drinks” or popcorn servings people who really want more will simply buy more of what they want?
We have passed the slippery slope. Now we have to work to keep it out of other states. These people are crazy.
