Now union members are deserting Obama
Washington Examiner ^ | 6-12-12 | Paul Bedard

Two new and disturbing polls just out suggest that the road to reelection is getting tougher for President Obama.

In the most significant, Gallup found that union member support for the president is weaker than it was on Election Day. While Obama took 67 of the union vote, according to 2008 election night polling by Peter Hart for the AFL-CIO, Gallup discovered that just 58 percent of union members back the president now. Some 35 percent support Mitt Romney, 5 percent more than Sen. John McCain won in 2008.

Gallup said the union vote is a significant block for Obama, though, “their impact on the presidential race will be limited by their size -- just about 12% of employed voters are union members.”

Rasmussen Reports, found that a majority of likely American voters -- 60 percent -- believe that it is at least somewhat likely that the next president will be a Republican, including 34% who see this scenario as very likely. Among Democrats, 35 percent of likely voters also said Obama would be followed by a Republican.

Rasmussen said that when Obama first took office, just 44 percent thought a Republican would replace him

I think between now and Inauguration Day, 2013, we’re going to see “scorched earth” like we’ve never seen before.

Ah, perhaps unions will gain respect.

To loathe, dispise, and (figuratively, of course) spit upon the Obamadork is a sign of ingelligence and taste.

If enough union members swap to offset the number of Christians and other pro-life who will sit out the election featuring two pro-death candidates, this might be the oddest electoral map in a long time.

re: Two new and disturbing polls just out .....

“Disturbing” polls? Another class example of media bias. Only Democrats & Leftist would be “disturbed” by the data from these polls. If the article had been referring to a Republican it would never have use the word.

I am betting that at LEAST 10% (maybe up to 25%) of those union members are lying to the pollsters out of fear.

I have a friend whose dad is a union member. She says he is TOLD where to go and protest, and who to vote for...but in his heart, and in his voting booth, he is a conservative.

I am betting there are a lot more like my friend’s dad.

Exactly, and here's two reasons why:
1. He's a sick narcissist who can't handle rejection and will lash out like Satan himself.

2. The goal of his handlers all along was to thoroughly destroy this Republic. He is running out of time now.

What is disturbing about that - the POS should never be in OUR WH to begin with. If the Repubs had a backbone, Barry and his minions would be in jail along with high fines.

Hubby is a retired firefighter, 33 yrs. His union always supports dems but the majority of its members are conservatives. It has always been that way here.

Zero has often said he might end up as a one term President. IMO, if he knows for certain that he is done, he would bow out to save the Slave Party and his 'healthcare legacy.'

See tag line.

The union members who have abandoned Obama have taken their union politics to the Republican side of the aisle. The union members have not changed their agenda, they just think that they have a better chance of protecting the union label through the GOP by emphasizing exports and the need for infrastructure improvements to ports, railroads, roads and bridges which will create union jobs.

The problem is that it is not any different than Obama’s plan to spend more money. Watch for these union Republicans to start pushing for federal money for RR, ports and bridges in Congress. The Democrats in the Senate have already added the spending to the Senate version of the transportation bill, now they have to work on the House. They are doing it through the Republican Party.
