Lotsaluck. You still have to knock off 15% of Obama's voting base to win ~ and that's if you get as many votes as McCain. If you get as many as Bush, it's just 8%.

Such an event is exceedingly unlikely given history.

he Democrats took the Republicans out behind the woodshed a little bit in 2008.

And we took out the libtards like a tented mule in 2010 -- and, IF WE ARE CAREFUL, we can run the table in 2012...

Bambi sits in the place of Jimmy Carter, only worse. His base doesn't really like or trust him, the independents like ABO, and most GOP voters won't even listen to the man. He does, however have the vote of the majority of morons in this country.

He'll have to get very lucky to win 45% of the vote, and cheating won't help in that case.

Romney is too cowardly for my tastes. Finger in the wind kind of guy and way too liberal. But in terms of November? ....Go Mitt! Kick Obama’s ass!!!!!! I wanna see Barry pouting at the side stage in January.

It finally dawns on conservatives that if you get behind the best candidate running, you might actually move the ball down the field. Whaddasupprise. The whole problem, here as elsewhere, is a bunch of bleacher bums expecting a 100 yard kickoff return.

The Gelding Old Party can snatch defeat from victory. They are feckless, spineless, and ‘Rat lite.

I’m not overconfident but I’ve been quietly optimistic ever since obomo’s ratings tanked in numerous polls last summer by -20% to -25% with young people, hispanics, working class men, working class women, high income earners, etc. Even a sitting president can’t lose that much support and prevail in a crap economy. All he has left is college educated single females and his dispirited base and that won’t carry him to re-election.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Vote with your heart during the primers, but use your head during the general election. The time for posturing is behind us. From now one our country needs the kamikaze conservatives to help defeat Obama. Their principled battles can be re fought in the future.

No, We don't.

We have to knock off his EC votes - his predominance in NY & Cal. mean nothing.

Obama Hussein can be swept here.

I like your posts, but look at the demographics.

This is the United States, not the democracy of Athens, and the EC, and therefore the presidency, is decided by the States.

“a string of breaks in their favor “

Gotta love how Ap describes the current trend of stunning GOP/Tea Party victories that are shaking foundations.

Obama is the worst President in our lifetimes and the economy has had the worst 4 year performance since the Great Depression. More long-term unemployed than ever.

Why would anyone think Obama would NOT get fired?!?
That baffles me, this idea that somehow Obama has such a strong chance of getting re-elected in the face of such a dismal record.

Sadly, we have many who think we have to get the “True Conservative” candidate. Even Ronald Reagan couldn’t hit that conservative sweet spot. The thing about Reagan was “his thoughts become deeds.”

This time it isn’t about what we can do, it is what we can prevent.

A field goal is better than no points at all.

And this is the most important “game” since the civil war.

If obozo gets another 4 years it will take 50 years to undo the damage.

It ain’t great, but the dagger in the sand damn well better be placed here and now.

He may not have a ‘strong’ chance, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility, imo.

The voters obama has a lock on are: the blacks, those who depend on taxpayer transfer payments (like welfare and food stamps), those who benefit from crony capitalism, like GE, the abortion advocates, those plagued with perpetual white guilt , illegals, and liberals in general.

Of course there's voter fraud and intimidation that nobody seems to be able to do much about, and the all-important kneepad MSM, who will lie, cheat, steal, and whatever else they have to do to keep obama around for another four.

My main point is that it's not unreasonable to think obama has a shot, even though his presidency has been a colossal disaster.

The best candidate running is essentially a white version of Obama. Sounds like a lose lose situation to me.
