Former Republican presidential contender and Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Rick Santorum announced the formation of a new conservative group Friday, saying it will seek to thwart President Obama's bid for re-election in 2012.

"The defeat of Barack Obama, and those who support his policies, will be our first priority."

I appreciate Rick’s courage over the years to stand up for values that few had the courage to defend....

But I still refuse to ride.

I WILL NOT vote for Romney, period. Don’t try to guilt me into doing so. It won’t work.

Then don't vote 'for' him - vote against Obama.

Otherwise, if you take actions which will benefit Obama and keep him in office another 4 years, allowing his philosophy to also take control of the Supreme Court to affect the nation for decades to come, you will indeed be guilty of what you caused.

Sadly you are right, but I don’t intend to send Santorum one cent so he can decide how to spend it.

"Just posted this article:

Conservatives and Romney work at working together>"

So what? You, and others, can do what you want.

You shouldn't be so surprised that not all conservatives are going to close ranks around Willard, especially those who object to the abortion-enabler/sodomite lover on a religious basis. Actually, I don't think it IS surprise on your part; it's more like anger because some folks refuse to see things your way.

Please...don’t we have enough PACs and think tanks? And what to they do? They send out scary letters telling you the world will end unless you sign their petition, oh, and send lots of money, too.

These places exist to provide cushy jobs for the members of the permanent political class and their families. They never change anything.

Bull! It’s this kind of nonsense that allows the Republican hierarchy to flustered substandard candidates on us.

If I don’t vote for Romney, I’m not voting for Romney. That’s all it means .

My definition of “Conservative” - LIMITED G’ment - No Federal Dept. Of Education for starters.

I currently see Mittens as another Bush type president - MORE Federal bureaucracy. I hope and pray I am wrong

My preference is for the Frog in the Pot to get cooked - just get it over with. Maybe we can start over again after the deluge.

Hannity interviewed Santorum on the radio show last Friday. Rick sounded good.

“Patriot Voices
Senator Rick Santorum joined Sean in the show’s final hour to announce a brand new organization he is helping form called “Patriot Voices.” Santorum told Sean that this new organization will help American get back to the values that our country was founded on. The group will help “mobilize one million conservatives around this country who are committed to promoting faith, family, freedom, and opportunity,” said Santorum.

The Senator said he wanted to serve “people left behind by both parties” and promised to “hold campaigns accountable.” The group also would help presumptive GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and “make sure Mitt is the next president of the United States and that we get rid of the scourge that has been the bane of the economy and the country, which has been Barack Obama and his administration,” added Santorum.”

Romney better do a complete turn around on his selection of judges for the SCOTUS from his RECORD on appointing leftist liberals in Mass.

How can Conservatives support a candidate, Romney, whose economic advisor says the the bulk of the adjustment(tax increases) be borne by upper income households????

Good for Santorum and his new Conservative PAC. We need more Conservatives in elected offices to push against the RINO’s and Democrats.

Rick Santorum was far from a great conservative candidate, as were all of the others who ran this cycle.

This plain and simple fact is assiduously ignored by the Free Republic He-Man Mitt Haters Club members as they rail against the “GOP-E” for treacherously denying us our deserved (but un-named) conservative standard bearer.

Even our current “tea party” congress seems to be having trouble putting the brakes on socialism. Romney is likely to face little opposition from R’s in Congress if Romney is president. Vote against Romney and Obama. Vote FOR committed limited government conservatives in Congress, in state legislatures and for the office of Governor. Support nullification.

Inordinate focus on the Presidency is hurting the Republic

Santorum’s example is to be a “team player”, voting for big government and speaking out against limited government.

It is not “pro-family” to support increasing the size and scope of the federal government, which ultimately denies the legitimate authority of family (& church and individual).

Santorum may be a wonderful father and husband but he, like many other politicians, seems to have sociopathic streak. In that regard, he’ll make a great fit for a Romney administration!
