George W. Bush has stepped out of the public eye since leaving office, but absence hasn't made the nation’s heart grow fonder.

The 43rd President of the United States is the most unpopular living former president, a CNN/ORC International poll has found, as only 43% of people surveyed said they had a favorable opinion of him and 54% viewed him unfavorably.

The negative rating puts Bush far behind his fellow living ex-Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Dubya’s father, George H.W. Bush.

Clinton nabbed a 66% favorable rating, Carter scored a 54% rating, and 59% of those polled said they had a positive view of Bush Sr.

I personally would rate Carter way below Bush. But I consider Bush the worst REPUBLICAN president since Hoover, and probably the second or third worst Republican president ever.

Scratch that. Nixon was down there, too — among the bad Republican presidents, I mean.

The best Republican presidents: Reagan, Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower, McKinley, and yes - Harding (a free market pro-liberty president).

I think he should be above all three: Carter, Clinton and George H.W. Bush.

He gave us the worst recession since the Great Depression. That’s why people can’t stand him. And he gave us the most deficit spending ever — until Obama came along. That’s why this conservative can’t stand him and his “compassionate” conservatism.

Oh yes, he’s also the reason Barak O. is president - people were reacting to Bush’s recession and his disastrous presidency.

When did Carter and Clinton pass away?

The shameful thing is that Bush’s spending made those two liberals look like pikers.

And W failed to control the border plus he left Afghanistan half finished to push the country into a disastrous counterproductive failure in Iraq. Sometimes I wonder if W was Osama’s biggest asset.

Conservatives were reacting to congressional Rinos also.

Idiots like Dodd and Frank gave us the worst recession since the Great Depression. This set the stage for the great Messiah, Greek columns and all.

It was a giant game of chicken. the Democrats would always castigate the Republicans for exercising fiscal restraint, so Bush said, fine, you cut it then, I won’t. And avoided the old routine of “the Republicans let granny eat dog food” but the Democrats wouldn’t cut a thing, they knew their constituency wouldn’t put up with it. So the deficits are equally the Dems fault.

Damn Meena, Project Much?

Your Little Dictator is falling on his ASS over and over. The loyalty to the “PARTY” is disgusting.

Wipe your ass, empower people through positive hard work and watch the results. I’ll bet you are a liberal arts major.

There are still some who still think that trying to re-write the GWB legacy will bring something good. It won’t.
He was a disaster and it’s long over-due to fire Boehner and McConnell too.

At least he stays away from the camera, I respect him for that.

Unfortunately I don’t think Romney learned the lesson.

When GW Bush took office in a recession there were 138 million people working at the end of his term 144 million people where working. After three years of Obama 142 million people are in the work force.

If history teaches that TARP was a success then Bush's administration put it into place. If the US continues with the Bush policies of protecting us from radical Islam than the Bush administration is a success.
