Police in Taos, New Mexico have spent close to a month investigating a case where a man was allegedly beaten after removing political signs placed on his property without his permission.
Across the road, a candidate for District Court Judge Ernestina Cruz was holding an event, and supporters seemingly placed signs on the man’s lawn to direct attendees where to go.
“I told them I thought it was very distasteful to put these signs in front of my property,” Roy Cunnyngham said, so he packed them in the car to return to their rightful owners.
At that point, a man allegedly crossed the street and told Cunnyngham to put the signs back where they were. When Cunnyngham refused, he says, the man “pounded [him] in the chest.”
Sgt. John Wentz’s report elaborates: “All of the sudden two more men showed up and started to hit and shove Mr. Cunnyngham.”
Cunnyngham’s wife Joni also told police that she got out of the car to help, but someone held her from behind and kept her in place while the men beat her husband. The couple’s son was also shoved aside, and prevented from helping .
“They just attacked him, all three of them,” Joni recalled.
A doctor treated Cunnyngham for cuts and bruises, injuries to his mouth and a concussion, but his main concern is that a month later, the perpetrators still have not been brought to justice.

Being unarmed in this situation means that several violent (probably Marxists) will be around to harm others in the future. That is the lesson I think needs to be learned from this.

I used to live near Taos. I can tell him that being a law abiding citizen, he should not expect any more action in (D) N.M. than he would get from Eric Holder in Chicago.

Besides stating that you are stupid, NM and most other states allow you to use lethal force to defend yourself against severe harm or lethal force. Since the left has killed about 150 million that did not share their beliefs I keep this in mind when dealing with these crimminal losers.
It has nothing with placement of signs. This person was removing signs from HIS property and was assaulted. Me, I would have been shooting.
He was within his rights to put a bullet through their skulls, threatening and beating him on his own property and forcing him to support politicians he has no desire to support. This is straight fascism.

I hated those signs! Used to have to mow a lawn years back that every election the signs would sprout up like mushrooms.
This man should have taken them down and thrown them in his trash, never said a word to anyone.

The victim in the article could have used force to defend himself, and in some states could have used deadly physical force, but this poster was only referring to simple ("they put a single foot on your property") trespass.
Even if someone who had beaten you before trespassed, that would not give you athority to shoot them just for that trespass.

Did the shooter attempt to deescalate by fleeing. Did the shooter start the altercation? Is the attacker 6'4” and a karate expert or is she 14 with asthma? Is the Vic 88 and in a wheelchair, or a 22 year sprinter? There is no blanket, even in states with SYG Laws.
