Who Is Mike Leavitt, Leading Mitt Romney's Transition Team? (making big money from Obama Care)
theatlantic. ^ | JUN 4 2012

The former Bush cabinet member is a close confidant of the GOP presidential contender, but his support for a key part of Obamacare has conservatives furious.

*He has been a prominent backer of one element of Obamacare. Even as Obamacare has become the GOP's bete noire, Leavitt has vocally backed one provision of the law: state-level health-insurance exchanges. As part of the law's expansion of insurance, these exchanges allow citizens to shop for insurance from private companies, and if they qualify they can use federal subsidies to purchase coverage. Insurance companies accepted various strictures -- most notably, the ban on rejecting applicants with pre-existing conditions -- in return for the individual mandate, which broadens the pool of insurance buyers. A Leavitt aid told Politico, "We believe that the exchanges are the solution to small business insurance market and that's gotten us sideways with some conservatives." But Leavitt also has a major financial interest: His health-care consultancy has won contracts from many states to help set up the exchanges, which must be in place by 2014 (unless the law is struck down by the Supreme Court).

That has conservatives hopping mad. Prominent conservative pundit Erick Erickson wrote on Monday, "This should shake every conservative's confidence in Team Romney to really understand just how badly we want Obamacare fully repealed and calls into question the conservative bona fides of those who would staff a Romney White House when Obamacare pimps staff the campaign." Several other conservative groups told Talking Points Memo they were very concerned about Leavitt's selection for the same reason.

So while a Leavitt-led transition wouldn't guarantee a moderate Romney administration, it's not unrealistic to expect his philosophy would be reflected in the result.

THIS is the story?

Even as Obamacare has become the GOP's bete noire, Leavitt has vocally backed one provision of the law: state-level health-insurance exchanges.

Mitt's own failure to date to confess that his Romneycare was a big screw up in Massachusetts, is a much much bigger issue.

Same as AlGore profits greatly from Global Warming hype.....Mike Leavitt likes Obama care and amazingly enough his company “Leavitt Partners” makes millions from advising states on how to set up Obama-care “health care exchanges”.

Thus “Leavitt Partners” is vacuuming up your tax dollars you sent to Washington, they send to states to set up “healthcare exchanges”

Romney is a self-avowed Progressive, as well as an admirer and acquaintance of Saul Alinsky. He is a Globalist and considers himself a “World Citizen”. If that last sounds familiar, it should: that is how BHO2 refers to himself.

There is a huge, unnoticed struggle in this country between Globalists; those who are international businessmen and those who are international labor union leaders.

The U.S. military is essential for both sides as it provides the security that makes Globalization possible.

Our military is paid for by the tax revenue paid by U.S. citizens and staffed by their sons and daughters; many of those citizens no longer have jobs, as those have all been moved offshore by the above mentioned “World Citizens”.

Neither group gives a damn about the rights of individuals. The common man or woman on the street is just a “unit” to be taxed or obliterated, it matters not to them.

The last thing that either group wants is for conservatives with Bibles and guns asserting their God-given rights and demanding that Washington, D.C., changes how it does business.

We can't do much to alter who our candidates are running for President, but we sure can do much to assure our Congress is more conservative in the future.

Why did anyone think Romney would people on his team that had a different political belief system?
Romney is a liberal and he is going to hang around with liberals.

I think this shows monumentally poor judgment on Romney’s part.

"Why did anyone think Romney would people on his team that had a different political belief system? Romney is a liberal and he is going to hang around with liberals."

That's right. It's amazing to me that he can give a speech or two, or say a couple of well-rehearsed lines, and conservatives will cheer and clap. "OMG! That was so hard-hitting! He really IS conservative!" I mean, I understand that in order to vote for him, one might have to pretend a little bit, but come on.

Donald Rumsfeld did the same thing with the Reagan administration, getting Asparatame approved by the FDA contrary to all evidence of its neurotoxicity.

Thanks very much for posting. Very interesting. A commerce clause collectivist and a 10th amendment totalitarian are one and the same.

Yea, I can see the parallel between supporting controlling one seventh of the US economy while profiting from it and an artificial sweetener.

I don’t like this but I’m gonna wait it out.

This is one person Romney needs to disavow and cut loose.

We’ll see what happens.

What I’m dreading is the glee some of this forum will express at anything negative about Romney.

The ABOmania, is really getting out of hand.
Everyday some new liberal revelation comes forth from the MSM, and people ask as though no one knew, you and I knew as well as millions of others.
I’ll vote straight conservatives down the line, no more liberals.
Lie to me once shame on you, lie to me again......wait it wont happen again.

Two days before Romney spoke at Liberty, in my hometown, he said that two people of the same gender who love each other should be able to adopt children. The sentiment itself is bad enough, but note he didn’t even say “gay” or “homosexual.” No——”two people of the same gender who love each other.” Detestable.

If a person wants to vote for that, fine, but don’t be shocked when I say I won’t, and can’t.

I can see how an artificial sweetener that poisons people would mean nothing to you as long as you got some of the profit.

Stay on topic.
obamaCare support is not in anyway equal to support of an artificial sweeter.
