Stung by a new report showing that the nations job market is sputtering, President Obama made a new appeal Friday for Congress to enact measures to revive the economy, not only to shake the United States out of its torpor but to act as a buffer against storm clouds in Europe.
In a speech on a factory floor here that mixed familiar proposals with a new sense of foreboding about the coming months, Mr. Obama said that our economy is still facing some serious headwinds from high gas prices and the financial crisis in Europe, which he said was having an impact worldwide and is starting to cast a shadow on our own as well.
Weve got a lot of work to do before we get to where we need to be, Mr. Obama said to a friendly crowd at a Honeywell plant outside Minneapolis. The economy is growing again, but its not growing as fast as we want it to grow.

And the lickspittles at the NYT know it.
The man of a thousand excuses.
If he could get congress to fund an Enforcement Division at the Bureau of Labor Statistics...
That would bring down his unemployment numbers- there are too many backsliders looking for work despite all he’s done.
Stuck on stupid.
Congress should tell Obama they’ve inherited a bad economy, and not to expect anything to change for at least 6 months.
If Congress could find a solution he would claim it was his, but don’t worry this Congress is the most useless in the history of the country.
And Congress should say: OK, suspend every single executive order you have issued, suspend ALL EPA regulations, defund the EPA, eliminate capital gains taxes altogether until there is full recovery, institute an immediate 20% income tax cut, and suspend all federal fuel taxes.
There, how’s that O incompetent Zero?
“Obama said that our economy is still facing some serious headwinds from high gas prices”
Now I wonder why that would be seeing as there are more than ample energy resources here in our country. Could it be your policies Mr. President? Try looking in the mirror and you will see the source of this countries problems.
The same congress he just blamed?? My God, this man is the worst freaking president ever!!
When will Larry Summers and Robert Rubin be held accountable for their roles?
The Food Stamp President needs to bring out some of that stimulus money that he has been holding back for his re-election. Maybe even have some of the green energy buddies turn a profit so they can pay back the loans which he can use to stimulate the economy. With those hundreds of billions of dollars he can stimulate the economy without Congress whom he is loath to deal with.
Don’t forget repeal Obamacare!
Tennessee Football Coach fired for making Obama so
Did I miss a satire tag? He didn’t say that. Did he?
You were close;
He's not looking for help - he's looking for an escape route.
His hidden Kenyan passport may come in handy.
What a collossal piece of work.
This lousy excuse for a pres could have helped himself long ago, but decided to bring this nation to its knees in order to usher in the 'New World Order' with new worthless currency, total world-government under the edicts of the UN.
He deserves nothing but derision...
The song was awesome!
The Messiah is not looking for a handout, he’s asking for a hand up, affirmative action wise.
And the stock market got a frsh look at the Idiot in Chief and dumped another couple percentage points. Down almost 1,000 since I moved my stuff into Money Market accounts to protect the principle.

Back to blaming congress, and to all the idiots who are watching the bachelor, american idol and the voice, none of these nimrods have any idea that the senate is controlled by the rats so they will continue to believe the obstructionist republicans are preventing the messiah from correcting the evil 3 year old Bush depression.
sheesh....what happened to “I won”? (snicker)
