Last night, in an interview with the Boston Globe, Elizabeth Warren claimed that her parents were forced to elope because her father’s family objected to her mother’s Native American heritage:
"In the 1930s, when my parents got married, these were hard issues,’’ Warren said. “My father’s family so objected to my mother’s Native American heritage that my mother told me they had to elope. [emphasis added]
Breitbart News has obtained a copy of what it believes to be Warrens' parents’ marriage certificate from Hughes County, Oklahoma, dated January 4, 1932. The marriage took place in Holdenville, Oklahoma, the county seat, located approximately 14 miles from Wetumpka, Oklahoma, which both the 21-year-old groom, Donald J. Herring, and 19-year-old bride, Pauline Reed, declared as their residence.

According to the document, the marriage was performed by Sidney H. Babcock, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church South of Holdensville, Oklahoma.
Typically, couples that elope do not marry in a church, or in their place of residence.

Wow, I see now, she is ashamed to white, I get it, well friends I don’t think Native American Indians of different tribes, like Apache, Sioux, and others will like this.
Since her proclamation, I have question - have she ever visit her suppose own familia in reservations?
I also know that each tribe has different dialect; can she speak fluently of tribe she says is she from?

So either Warren has lied once again or, in the best case, her mom lied to her, in which case this might explain Elizabeth’s congenital predisposition to tell tall tales!

I’m starting to think she is mentally ill.
She just can’t let go of this Cherokee thing, nor can she stop herself from giving voice to all the “family lore” (ie. fantasies). She also seems incapable of recognizing that a majority of people do NOT care about her constant burnishing of her leftist, racial bona-fides.

Even so, its only reaonable to label yourself somehting when you’re 1/4 or more. After that, it starts getting ridiculous. Saying your 1/32 Indian should be ignored by any minority beancounters.
That would make her mother only 1/16 Cherokee, not enough to be officially recognized by the Cherokee Nation as being one of them. This woman keeps digging the hole deeper for herself.
To be fair to Elizabeth Running-Mouth Warren, I know of several elopements in which the couple were married in a church after arranging for two witnesses and a minister. This is not relevant to her creative writing project on family history.

I’d love to see them investigate if Warren’s two adult children have used this ruse for college or job preferential treatment.
