Report: GOP Will End Fast And Furious Investigation (Hope this source is wrong)
Western journalism ^ | Thursday May 31, 2012

But according to the man who broke the “Gunwalker” story a year and a half ago, threatening letters to Speaker Boehner might no longer be necessary.

Sources in Washington, DC have told blogger and citizen reporter Mike Vanderboegh that Republican leaders have already decided to close down the Fast and Furious investigation and halt contempt proceedings against Eric Holder, because “they (the GOP leadership) don’t think that they will suffer for [that] failure to follow through. They’re scared of Holder’s race card. . . they’re scared of Trayvon. They think if they let Issa fail, that it will only be a story in the blogosphere for a day . . . that they can weather it. . . .” Unfortunately, Vanderboegh makes it clear that he trusts the word of these sources “implicitly.”

In short, John Boehner and other Republican big wigs are more afraid of the race card and its steady play by the Obama-owned national media than of the bitter –yet presumably brief—disappointment of conservatives, disgusted because the GOP has once again opted for the cowardly betrayal of justice and of the Party base.

[....]

Vanderboegh was certainly right about Boehner’s work to delay Representative Darrell Issa’s contempt proceedings against Holder. We should all hope his sources have gotten this one wrong.

If this is true, I expect the repercussions will reverberate through the election. Why would I vote for a Rino Romney when he will only be backed up by an empty suit like Boner? I respect Issa for working hard all this time to reveal the truth, but it looks like the majority of America’s leadership is either weak or crooked. I would rather prepare my ammo box then worry about the ballot box if my only choices are evil or weak.

" ----and dirt on each other"

It still would be a cave in for the brassless wonders, but is there a chance there are fingerprints from the Bush administration on the origins of Gun Walker.

I can completely understand why they would halt the Fast and Furious investigation. There’s the important issue of athletes who take steroids that must be investigated immediately.

We know the the gunwalking thing was going on during the Bush administration. Its bad enough but its nothing new and the Obama administration quit stopping the guns from crossing the border.

This may be a rumour but is this rumour not consistent with the limo fighting skills of the GOP leadership in the past? How many times Jane the GOP wimped out on conservatism or doing the right thing?

I’m with you. I will not vote for Romney. The only hope would be to elect 67 true conservative senators and a majority of tea party congress people in the house. And we’d need about 20 extra to make up for the ones who go to cash in and cave. But that’s not going to happen. So, rather than watch this country die a slow, painful death, I say let it get killed quickly. Maybe then the people will stand up and start a new nation.

I haven't seen any hint of a motive for GWB to have intentionally allowed large numbers of guns to fall into the hands of Mexican gangs. I believe his administration may have allowed some guns to fall into gangs' hands as a result of some totally incompetent planning, and it's conceivable that the number of guns involved was much larger than has been let on, but I've seen nothing to indicate that GWB would have had any motive to intentionally "lose" large numbers of guns, nor that he ever displayed craven indifference to the fact that some guns got lost. By contrast, Barack Obama clearly had a motive to let firearms end up in the hands of Mexican gangs (it would justify his otherwise-unjustifiable claims on the matter). Further, since the operation was discovered, Barack Obama and Eric holder have displayed craven indifference toward it. Laws were clearly broken by federal agents. Assisting in the prosecution of such agents is Eric Holder's job. Refusal to assist is refusal to do his job. Barack Obama should be demanding Eric Holder's head. His refusal to do so demonstrates craven indifference to Eric Holder's refusal to do his job.

I believe I predicted this right here on FR.
And I believe several people bad-mouthed me for doing it.

And don’t blame it all on Boner!
I’m convinced that if the Republican hankie twisters really WANTED TO, they could FORCE Boner to move this stuff! Boner’s just a convenient scapegoat, IMHO.

Even if I’m wrong about that, they still reportedly DID fold like a cheap umbrella!

“It still would be a cave in for the brassless wonders, but is there a chance there are fingerprints from the Bush administration on the origins of Gun Walker.”

The better question can be seen here from the discussion by former DEA agent Mike Levine

http://narcosphere.narconews.com/notebook/bill-conroy/2011/07/atf-s-fast-and-furious-seems-colored-shades-irancontra-scandal

“… Running guns into Mexico into the hands of criminals? There can be no objective to this but death, and lots of it.
The events in Operation Fast and Furious are eerily identical to those surrounding the arrest of General Ramon Guillen Davila, a CIA asset who was [indicted for] smuggling a ton of cocaine into the US [in] 1996, in what was described as an intelligence gathering operation, the problem being that no intelligence was ever gathered and that the ton was only one of many other similar shipments of cocaine that actually hit the streets of the U.S. by way of CIA agents.
If I were a criminal profiler, it wouldn’t take much to identify a CIA pattern here [with Fast and Furious]: A wacko, barroom commando, illegal operation that makes no sense whatsoever, run outside the control of law enforcement.”
