Posted on 05/31/2012 12:54:56 PM PDT by jazusamo
Attorney General Eric Holder recently told a group of black clergymen that the right to vote was being threatened by people who are seeking to block access to the ballot box by blacks and other minorities.
This is truly world-class chutzpah, by an Attorney General who stopped attorneys in his own Department of Justice from completing the prosecution of black thugs who stationed themselves outside a Philadelphia voting site to harass and intimidate white voters.
This may have seemed like a small episode to some at the time, but it was only the proverbial tip of the iceberg. The U.S. Attorney who was prosecuting that case J. Christian Adams resigned from the Department of Justice in protest, and wrote a book about a whole array of similar race-based decisions on voting rights by Eric Holder and his subordinates at the Department of Justice.
The book is titled "Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department." It names names, dates and places around the country where the Department of Justice stopped its own attorneys from pursuing cases of voter fraud and intimidation, when it was blacks who were accused of these crimes.
If Mr. Adams is lying, he has taken a huge risk in citing individuals by name and quoting them directly. Yet, despite the fact that most of those he accuses are lawyers, apparently no one has sued him. Moreover, Adams has also testified under oath before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, on the racial double standard at the Department of Justice, when it comes to voting rights.
What Attorney General Holder has been complaining loudly about, and launching federal lawsuits about, are states that require photo identification to vote. Holder calls this blocking minority "access" to the voting booths.
Since millions of black Americans like millions of white Americans are confronted with demands for photo identification at airports, banks and innumerable other institutions, it is a little much to claim that requiring the same thing to vote is denying the right to vote. But Holder's chutzpah is up to the task.
Attorney General Holder claims that the states' requirement of photo identification for voting, in order to prevent voter fraud, is just a pretext for discriminating against blacks and other minorities. He apparently sees no voter fraud, hears no voter fraud and speaks no voter fraud.
Despite Holder's claim, a little experiment in his own home voting district showed how easy it is to commit voter fraud. An actor a white actor, at that went to a voting place where Eric Holder is registered to vote, and told them that he was Eric Holder.
The actor had no identification at all with him, either with or without a photo. He told the voting official that he had forgotten and left his identification in his car. Instead of telling him to go back to the car and get some identification, the official said that that was all right, and offered him the ballot.
The actor had the good sense not to actually take the ballot, which would have made him guilty of voter fraud and, being white, he would undoubtedly have been prosecuted by Eric Holder's Department of Justice.
But the actor had made his point. When a white man with no identification can go to a voting site, impersonate a black man who lives in that district, and get his ballot offered to him, then it is far too easy to commit voter fraud.
Does not Attorney General Eric Holder understand that? Of course he understands it! The man is not stupid, despite his other failings.
Holder's pooh-poohing of voter fraud dangers, and hyping the "threat" of denying minorities "access" to the voting booth, are completely consistent with his drive to (1) maximize the number of votes by black Democrats and (2) spread as much fear as possible among minorities that they are under siege, and that the Democrats are their only protection and salvation.
It is a political protection racket, with payoffs in votes.
Nor can Holder's boss, Barack Obama, be unaware of voter fraud. After all, he comes from Chicago, where voting officials refuse to discriminate against dead people.
It’s so very easy to correctly criticize the obvious lack of honesty and intellect in both the Obama-dork and the Holder-felon. One might label me a racist. Sorry, folks, they’re at the bottom of the moral and intellectual barrel -whether they be white or black.
A + ONCE AGAIN !!
Both blatantly ignore existing law as well as out right break them with impunity.
For quite a long time now, it seems that the race that subjugates blacks more than does any other, is the black race itself.
The voter rolls don't describe the registrant, but I can't imagine that the poll worker didn't know who the AG was - being a super high profile resident Rat from that district.
Holder knows that a major bundler in Spain is now counting the votes for national elections. So, it really doesn't matter if some "typical white guy" steals Holder's local vote, because they have the keys to power and all future elections. That's what they're protecting.
It’s not racist to observe that Obama and Holder are racist. Thomas Sowell is black, after all, and a genuine American black person, too - born in Gastonia, just the other side of Charlotte from where I live - not a foreign Marxist.
Well, let's see. You and Sowell both applied the same rule to black officials that you would to white ones, and you got a very discouraging answer, that both men appear to be liable to society's rebuke for malfeasance in Holder's case and either malfeasance or misprision of the same by the _resident.
Ergo, racism analysis yields test result
Guess you're not a racist.
George Orwell, who was a convicted Leftist as a young man in the 1930's, got his face pushed into the mud-pie of how Communism ("high Communism" that is, the grown-up version) really works when he foolishly volunteered for the Republican side in the Spanish Civil War. Besides being nearly killed (and was maimed for life, rendered unsuitable for British service in World War II, except for some Home Guard duty), he got a faceful of how Communists bent, used, and abused words and the truth "operationally", eg. when they went after their labor-syndicalist allies (show trials, executions, the whole nine yards).
Ever afterward, Orwell was a demon on correct and precise use of language and sparing use of rhetorical figures like simile and metaphor, instead talking about things as they are and calling everything by its right name.
Americans must have their head in the sand, not knowing the criminal behavior of these two.
Americans are uninformed or otherwise misinformed by the MSM.
I wonder when the lefties are going to realize they are second class citizens in the eyes of their leaders.
Most people don’t read FR. But even before that, I read National Review, American Spectator, Southern Partisan, Wall Street Journal, and other informative periodicals.
Is Eric Holder simply representing himself when he makes such a remarkable and unsupported assertion? He is quoting the Democrat playbook and pandering.
What evidence does he have to justify that the requirement for voter ID discriminates? Such a claim is utter nonsense! He has to know better!
I started reading NR in 1968 at the age of 14. I wasn’t at all pressured to read it. My dad had a subscription to it, and.....well....there it was : )
I subscribed in the mid-80s after reading it in the college library for a while. I used to read it to Anoreth when she was a baby, 1991, to help her fall asleep.
Holder’s ballot given to James O’Keefe - - the ‘white guy’...
It's really pathetic when he says voter fraud is not a problem. He's carrying Obama’s, union thugs and Democrat's water for them and knows it's a lie.
Until photo ID is required to vote and voter lists are purged of dead registered voters the voter fraud problem will not get any better and he and his crooked friends know it.
Thanks, that video is proof positive of the problem and our lying idiot AG said it was an aberation.
Yet again, Dr. Sowell knocks it out of the park.
Great essay, great comments! Thank you.
“Of course he understands it! The man is not stupid, despite his other failings.”
IOW, he’s guilty.
“Outstanding” is right on the mark jaz. Thanks for the ping.
Excellent column! Holder has committed crimes in office. Stopping the prosecution of the New Black Panthers who were intimidating voters, and his involvement in Fast & Furious are two instances which come to mind.
video of the ‘white guy’ getting Holder’s ballot ...

The Obama Administration is creating jobs there as well! Stone carvers have been hired and will carve a new title on the building.
DEPARTMENT OF JUST US!
You’ll enjoy this, george:
He should have been gone after when Bush was elected to office in 2000. He is a corrupt politician and gave the green light and approved of the money transfer when he recommended a pardon for Mark Rich. Why the R's did not raise holy hell when BO choose him for AG is why so many R's voted for BO, to prove they are not racists!!
Fast & Furious
No, but he was a Marxist, in the 1950s. He was a good negro (as the polite term then was) in the fifties, until he studied the effect of the minimum wage and realized that socialism was a con.He loves to recommend good books, but when asked what books he liked when he was young he is embarrassed, realizing that he was a skull full of mush (as Rush would put it) when he was young.
Well then, he has more than made up for his youthful indescretions : )
When he realized it and changed his position it was because he has an analytical and open mind and I certainly admire him for admitting it, he has talked of it a few times in the last several years also.
There’s a ‘fast and furious’ comment in this that’s a hoot - it’s ‘the white guy’ getting Eric Holder’s ballot.
I don’t think that Dr. Sowell “was a Marxist” as much as that he was a student of Marxism, in his graduate-student years. He realized, being a great mind, that it was an erroneous theory.
He mentioned in his memoir that when he was teaching a graduate seminar in Marxist thought, well on in his career, students observed that they could not deduce his personal opinions from the courses. He told them that this was as it should be, since the course was not about him, but about “Marxist thought” as it exists, written, in history.
” I dont think that Dr. Sowell was a Marxist as much as that he was a student of Marxism, in his graduate-student years. He realized, being a great mind, that it was an erroneous theory.”
I would tend to agree with this. Marxism is intellectually contemptible.
Once a so-called science goes past saying, "This is what exists," or "This is what happens when ...," and gets into the realm of what is right, what is just, what should happen, it is not longer "science" in any way, but philosophy or religion. Again, when a cause/effect relationship is posited but proves not to function in reality, true science rejects the hypothesis. Pseudo-science claims the relationship is true, but that the experiment "hasn't really been tried."
Dr. Sowell is firmly grounded in bedrock reality: "Economics is the allocation of scarce resources with multiple uses." Incentives and constraints, choices and trade-offs ... the real world that honest people know they are living in.
In order to attend a meeting on the fifth floor of the Justice Dept, the floor on which Holder’s ofc is located, one must produce a PHOTO ID. It is required to be admitted. But to vote? Nah.
