When Mitt Romney came to an inner-city charter school here Thursday to promote his new education agenda, he received something of a history lecture about the persecution of blacks in America and the struggles of African American children to meet the academic achievements of their white counterparts.
Seeking to broaden his appeal heading into the general election, Romney was venturing for his first time in this campaign into an impoverished black neighborhood to hear the concerns of local educators and community leaders. But here in the streets of West Philadelphia, the emotion surrounding his contest with the nation’s first black president was raw, as dozens of neighborhood residents shouted, “Get out, Romney, get out!”

Outside, meanwhile, some brick row houses across from the school were boarded up. Police had cordoned off a full city block to protect Romney and his entourage. Residents, some of them organized by Obama’s campaign, stood on their porches and gathered at a sidewalk corner to shout angrily at Romney. Some held signs saying, “We are the 99%.” One man’s placard trumpeted an often-referenced Romney gaffe: “I am not concerned about the very poor.”
Madaline G. Dunn, 78, who said she has lived here for 50 years and volunteers at the school, said she is “personally offended” that Romney would visit her neighborhood.
“It’s not appreciated here,” she said. “It is absolutely denigrating for him to come in here and speak his garbage.”

When he visited a classroom where the kids in the elementary school choir were standing, swaying and clapping to the beat of Kirk Franklin’s “I Smile,” Romney appeared charmed but did not dance with them. Rather, he tapped one of his toes slightly and bobbed his head, but did not catch the rhythm..

Very few of them have the gumption required to improve their lot in life, and so, they pass it on, generation to generation. It can be done, if an individual chooses. Tough, but doable.

I believe the best approach is to tell the truth, and to challenge the ‘dogma’ the left has been peddling for decades that has wrapped up the black vote for them.
Black children who come from traditional homes and who go to schools in which they aren’t looked down upon for ‘trying to be white’ do just fine, and don’t need any help ‘competing with white students’. I don’t care what color you are, if you have to grow up in the social settings that many black children do, then you are going to have a higher probability of academic and life problems. It’s much easier to blame ‘slavery’, or ‘white privilege’, or some other b.s. than it is to roll up your sleeves and fix the enormous inner city social issues.

In a May 25 front-page story headlined “Romney’s outreach meets hostile reception,” Washington Post staff writers Nia-Malika Henderson and Philip Rucker passed off a political activist by the name of Madaline G. Dunn as simply being a 78-year-old “protester” who has lived in West Philadelphia for 50 years and was “personally offended” by the fact that “Romney would visit her neighborhood.”
“It’s not appreciated here.... It’s absolutely denigrating for him to come in here and speak his garbage,” Henderson and Rucker quoted Dunn. Yet what the Post staff writers left out is that Dunn is no otherwise-apolitical resident who happened to be on hand to react to Romney’s campaign swing. She’s a seasoned political activist, having served as the legislative committee chair for the Philadelphia Congress of the National Congress of Black Women (PCNCBW).

I’m definitely no fan of Romney, but I think he was sincerely offering an opportunity to listen and maybe help bring solutions. Instead, I think he and his handlers got “an education” that they hadn’t planned on. I hope its and education that Mr. Romney doesn’t soon forget.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t walk across the street to listen to a single word spoken by the great odongo. I’d just turn my back and go the other way. The reasons I wouldn’t shut obscene crap at him is: 1. I still respect the office of the POTUS. 2. I really don’t care to become “intimate” with the men in black. He ain’t worth either one.

What really pisses me off is that this reaction was partly organized by the Obama campaign. The punk-ass president and his lackies are extremely dangerous. I expect things to get even uglier.
On another note, Trayvon Martin's parents visited that bastion of Democratic party values, East St Louis, in their heralded cross country End the Gun Violence Tour. They were warmly received that night by two murders and three other gruesome shootings in East St Louis. No one seemed to have been personally offended though.

It is too sad that when a neighborhood is taken over by this demographic that crime is rampant, breakins, and thefts, people too lazy to cut the lawns or trim the bushes/trees but always on the cutting edge of the latest hiphop ganster culture. Color me anyway you want but know I’ve moved three times in my life as one of the last nonpersons of color in a neighborhood and it is always the same racial hatred brought by this color people.

Solyndra, GM, solar energy, 5 trillion in new debt, endless golf, endless campaign speeches at taxpayer expense, veto of the Keystone pipeline that would have added 100k jobs, unelected czars who no one knows what they do but they get paid very well “socializing” America. So Romney, stay out of Philly. It will be the next Detroit. You don’t want any associations with failure like that. They are close minded and have made up their minds that they want that ignorant black man who has faked his BC and SS# and no one knows his past because its all been scrubbed so we can’t find out. I would imagine he was actually born in Kenya since he touted that in some college paper. I think his college records were scrubbed because he got his education as a foreign student and now he is a natural born citizen! You see I think the message of conservatism works but it has to be explained and the true unwhitewashed version of how democrats have continue to treat black people like slaves has not changed since slavery. No other group in America votes and agrees on 97% of anything.
